Naruto: Orochimaru's Disciple

Chapter 530: Chapter 530: Changes in the Shinobi World

Chapter 530: Changes in the Shinobi World

”Why does this guy always have such strange research ideas?”

In the new capital of the Land of Flame, Orochimaru, with his golden hair, was holding an experimental log.

This log belonged to Kenichi.

But Kenichi was, after all, Orochimaru’s disciple.

Although Kenichi’s strength now far surpassed Orochimaru’s, Kenichi had never denied this relationship, so it was naturally fine for Orochimaru to read his experimental log.

However, upon seeing Kenichi’s log, Orochimaru could not help rubbing his temples.

He felt that his disciple’s mind seemed a bit erratic.

Of course, Orochimaru had known this for a long time.

Even when Kenichi was still doing research with him, Orochimaru had already grown accustomed to Kenichi’s jumping thoughts, often thinking of other things even while conducting experiments.

But looking at the experimental log in his hand, Orochimaru still could not help shaking his head.

However, the XYY chromosome proposed by Kenichi, the so called ”super male gene,” did pique Orochimaru’s interest.

He had done a great deal of research on genes and naturally knew that the so called XYY meant an extra Y chromosome in male genes.

However, Orochimaru had not paid much attention to such genes before.

He had not been interested in these things.

But he had not expected Kenichi to be researching this, which now sparked some interest in Orochimaru.

He sat on a chair with his legs crossed, slowly reading Kenichi’s experimental log.

And now, Orochimaru had also accepted his new identity.

Or rather, after realizing that his soul was abnormal, Orochimaru had once thought about changing it.

But as time passed, the desire for change became increasingly faint.

Orochimaru felt he had come to terms with it.

After all, it was just a soul.

Regardless of gender, as long as he could achieve immortality and master all ninjutsu and scientific knowledge in the Shinobi World, would that not be enough?

Gender was not particularly important.

[The XYY gene is named the ”super male gene.” I have given children carrying this gene the title of ”super male congenital physical and mental disorder.” Through investigation and research, it has been found that carriers of this gene may exhibit tall stature, poor learning ability, and slightly lower intelligence. After research, it was found that not all super male gene carriers have lower intelligence. Most super male gene carriers have normal intelligence. It is considered a congenital physical and mental disorder, but it does not mean that carrying the super male gene will lead to becoming a criminal. This is imprecise, and the scientific community has already determined that such a statement is incorrect. Here @!#*@￥&￥!@￥@@!#!]

A string of strange symbols followed, making Orochimaru furrow his brow slightly.

He knew these characters were a type of writing his disciple had created himself.

Although they were different from the writing of the Shinobi World, he could understand some of them.

However, combined with these technical terms, Orochimaru could not comprehend them.

Orochimaru pouted.

His student really did like to research all sorts of bizarre things.

What help could this ”super male syndrome” bring to the Shinobi World?

But considering that the Land of Flame was now peaceful and unified, Orochimaru thought it was not strange for Kenichi to research things that improved people’s livelihoods.

Just like the engine and chakra storage device he and Amado researched, which were used to improve people’s livelihoods.

Amado saw that at a glance.

Orochimaru felt that the biggest difference between himself and his disciple, Kenichi, lay here.

Kenichi seemed to particularly enjoy researching things related to people’s livelihoods, as well as those strange weapons.

Orochimaru, meanwhile, focused more on researching genes and ninjutsu.

Orochimaru once felt that Kenichi’s research was somewhat superfluous.

What was the point of that chakra engine, even if it was realized?

The convenience brought by ninja was far superior to those things.

However, Amado thought Kenichi’s research was excellent, then pointed out that ordinary people still existed in the Shinobi World.

That was something Orochimaru had previously overlooked.

In the Shinobi World, besides ninja, there were also ordinary people.

The birth of the chakra engine could make the lives of ordinary people much more convenient.

This was something Orochimaru had not thought of before.

And it was for this reason that Amado praised Kenichi greatly.

As soon as he thought of this, Orochimaru’s thoughts began to drift.

”Kenichi-kun is truly interesting. Only such a person is qualified to be the ruler of this country.”

At that time, Amado had just finished an experiment.

Orochimaru and Amado had successfully created a container that could store chakra, meaning they no longer needed Samehada as a container.

When Orochimaru heard Amado’s sigh, he was a little curious and asked Amado why he said that.

”Because Kenichi-kun cares about the people of this world. Whether they are ordinary people or ninja, they are all the same in Kenichi-kun’s eyes. He could have done nothing and still enjoyed the treatment of a Daimyo, but he still chose to act.”

That was what Amado said.

Orochimaru found it somewhat difficult to understand.

But as Orochimaru spent more time in the Land of Flame and met more people, Orochimaru gradually understood Amado’s words.

Amado was right.

In this new nation, even ordinary people could enjoy normal treatment, and there were no longer so many unreasonable missions.

Would ordinary people really pay ninja to find cats and dogs?

And then have ninja harvest crops?

They could do all of that themselves.

”Lord Orochimaru.”

A voice interrupted Orochimaru’s thoughts.

Orochimaru looked up and saw Shiori.

Or rather, Shiori’s Shadow Clone.

She was smiling at him.

Orochimaru nodded.

Indeed, it seemed today was the day to handle some matters.

Thinking this, Orochimaru walked out.

When Kenichi went to the Land of Wind for experiments, he entrusted Orochimaru with the task of recruiting scientific practitioners for the Land of Flame.

He was now the dean of the Land of Flame’s Academy of Sciences, so today, he was going to deal with this matter.

And at Kenichi’s urging, science as a discipline had officially appeared before everyone in the Land of Flame.

It had also become a highly valued discipline, on par with ninja, which made Orochimaru very happy.

The more scientific research he did, the clearer Orochimaru became that this path of science was difficult to complete alone.

The more people there were, the more brilliant the sparks of inspiration would be.

Meanwhile, at the Ministry of Agriculture, Mei Terumi had already finished her lunch break.

She walked out of her office, and the staff she met along the way respectfully greeted her.

Mei nodded in response to each of them.

She calmly walked out of the Ministry of Agriculture’s main entrance and then found a small restaurant nearby for lunch.

Today, she chose a ramen shop called Ichiraku Ramen.

She heard that Kenichi had specifically designated it to open in the new capital of the Land of Flame, and even the location of the shop had been chosen by Kenichi.

Although Mei did not understand why Kenichi would care about such a small shop, she did not mind.

The taste of this Ichiraku Ramen was indeed quite good, and Mei often liked to eat there during her lunch breaks.

As she watched the busy customers in the shop, a hint of warmth appeared on Mei’s usually cold face.

Mei disliked Kenichi.

From the day Kirigakure was destroyed by Kenichi, she had disliked him.

She had even hated him.

At one point, she had even been willing to join Konoha and be subservient, just to seek revenge on Kenichi.

But now, all of that had become an illusion under Kenichi’s overwhelming power and the establishment of the Land of Flame.

Mei had once been unwilling.

She had once wanted to resist.

She had once wanted to rally A and Onoki to resist.

But Onoki and A refused.

Mei could only choose to work silently, silently taking care of the survivors of Kirigakure.

She also knew that these people were now living ordinary lives.

No one else wanted to resist Kenichi.

No one else wanted to kill that guy, Kenichi.

Everything was over.

Mei had now come to terms with it.

The reason was that seven days ago, Mei had found a survivor of Kirigakure and tentatively asked if he wanted revenge.

But he shook his head.

That person had a family, a pregnant wife, and no longer wanted to seek revenge for the past.

He even advised Mei not to seek revenge.

That made Mei feel as if the world was vast, yet she could not find even a single companion.

She had even angrily accused him of betraying the Land of Water and betraying Kirigakure.

But his single sentence left Mei speechless.

”My life in Kirigakure wasn’t even as good as it is now.”

Mei knew he was right. ℯℯ𝘭.

Because he was just a genin.

How pathetic.

She, the dignified Mei Terumi, could only seek the companionship of a genin, and even that genin refused.

Mei did not give up afterward.

She successively used her position to find many survivors of Kirigakure.

But even the Hozuki Clan had already given up on revenge.

It was at that moment that Mei realized those who had wanted to avenge Kirigakure had probably already died in battle.

Only she, dragging her weary body, remained like a lonely soul in this world.

The only one who still remembered Kirigakure.

Perhaps when she died in the future, the Kirigakure known to the entire Shinobi World would cease to exist.

Later, she went to her homeland in the Land of Water and pondered for a day in front of Kirigakure’s ruins.

Then she returned here to work.

She did not know what mindset she should have to stay in this world.

But she found another goal in her life.

To take care of her former comrades and allow the orphans of Kirigakure to grow up in this world.

Onoki was right.

As long as the people of Kirigakure remained, then Kirigakure had not perished.

If all the people of Kirigakure died, then Kirigakure would no longer exist.

However, Mei always felt that this was just her own way of comforting herself.

”Sister, are you also here for ramen today?”

A blond boy sat next to Mei and spoke happily.

Mei looked at the child in front of her, and a long-lost smile appeared in her eyes.

She knew this little guy.

He also loved ramen very much.

She often met him at the ramen shop, so over time, they became unconventional friends.

Mei also learned his identity.

Naruto Uzumaki.

The only student of that scoundrel Kenichi.

And the son of the strong Minato Namikaze.

Mei looked at Naruto, smiled, and reached out her hand, pressing it toward Naruto’s head.

Then she gently squeezed Naruto’s head.

She stroked it up and down.

”Naruto, why are you here for ramen today? Where’s your mom?”

Mei asked with a smile.

She had met Kushina before, but only once.

She remembered that woman as gentle, though Mei always felt she could detect a hint of irritability in Kushina’s smile.

However, Mei did not care about that.

She only cared about Naruto, the little guy she often ate with.

”Hehe, Mom’s belly has been really big these days, so she can’t cook. Dad told me to eat out.”

Naruto scratched his head with a silly grin.

Mei raised an eyebrow, surprised that Kushina was about to give birth.

However, there had been many newborns throughout the Land of Flame recently, and the pregnancy rate was very high.

Mei thought of that genin from Kirigakure.

He also had a pregnant wife.

Now, in the Shinobi World, pregnancy seemed to be a very normal thing.

Mei knew the reason.

It was brought about by Kenichi.

Peace had become the main theme of the Shinobi World.

With no more wars or conflicts, bored ninja began to focus on procreation.

And the pressure on the Ministry of Agriculture had also increased.

That guy, Kenichi, demanded that the Ministry of Agriculture vigorously promote improved rice varieties and encourage the citizens of the Land of Flame to cultivate improved crops themselves.

As long as the yield increased significantly and remained stable after improvement, rewards would be given.

So, the Ministry of Agriculture had many inquiries to handle every day during this period.

Kenichi’s argument was that food was the foundation of everything.

If there was not enough food, then nothing else mattered.

Moreover, the baby boom would also lead to increased demand for food.

Now, the entire Land of Flame was striving for food.

So the pressure on her, the Minister of Agriculture, naturally became even greater.

”That’s great. Naruto will be a big brother in the future.”

Mei said with a chuckle.

She suddenly felt that perhaps this life was not so bad after all.

But whenever she thought of Kirigakure, Mei’s heart would feel a pang of pain.

Kirigakure was destined to be a scar in her heart that she could never forget and never truly let go of.

”It seems Mei Terumi has come to terms with quite a bit.”

In the distance from Ichiraku Ramen, two Anbu ninja of the Land of Flame were monitoring Mei.

Their monitoring method involved using other ninja and ordinary people who had been implanted with parasites.

Although Mei had now been removed from the list of high-risk individuals, she still needed to be monitored.

The leading ninja checked off a box.
