Naruto: Orochimaru's Disciple

Chapter 527: Chapter 527: The Road Ahead

Chapter 527: The Road Ahead

”The war has begun.”

Kenichi looked at the mushroom cloud rising in the distance and knew that his plan had succeeded.

The battle in the distance had already begun.

The only question was whether that old man, Otsutsuki Isshiki, would die.

Kenichi himself was not very confident about this.

After all, Otsutsuki Isshiki was still a member of the Otsutsuki Clan, more or less, and Kenichi did not know his abilities.

Kenichi had not watched Boruto.

He had only seen edited videos online.

In Kenichi’s heart, the work of Naruto was already considered finished after Naruto got married.

Boruto was a work created purely for profit, and Kenichi did not like it, so he had never watched it.

However, he did know some things.

Such as Naruto’s death.

And Naruto and the Nine-Tails’ Baryon Mode.

When he heard that term back then, only heaven knew what Kenichi’s mood had been like.

That name did not sound like it belonged in Naruto at all.

Instead, it sounded more like something from a science fiction work.

However, he had heard that Boruto later developed more and more toward scientific ninja tools, and it seemed that some rather cringeworthy things had appeared as well.

But Kenichi could not remember what they were.

It did not matter.

He was already in this world.

As long as he was given enough time to climb the technology tree, he would not care about the Otsutsuki Clan’s technological level.

Of course, Kenichi would not be too arrogant.

The Otsutsuki Clan was very likely to possess interstellar travel capabilities, which also needed to be handled carefully.

Thinking of this, Kenichi withdrew his gaze.

He did not plan to participate in the battle in the distance.

What he needed to do now was quickly enhance his strength.

At that time, whether Otsutsuki Isshiki won or the Sage of Six Paths won, it would not affect Kenichi himself.

Kenichi would then have enough confidence to deal with these two Otsutsuki Clan members.

Kenichi looked at the Samehada in front of him.

The Samehada were diligently swallowing the infused chakra.

It was clear that they were in pain, but they had no choice but to accept their current living situation.

Kenichi had heard from his teacher Orochimaru that the chakra storage device was still under development and had already made some key breakthroughs.

But key breakthroughs were not the same as successful production.

There was still a long way to go before the Samehada could be replaced.

Kenichi felt no softness in his heart toward these Samehada.

After all, these Samehada were clones.

Essentially, even if they were well cared for, they would eventually die over time.

So it was better to make the best use of them and let them contribute to the peace of the entire Shinobi World.

During this time, Kenichi had continuously extracted and compressed chakra, and there had still been some effect.

Under such high intensity compression, Kenichi’s chest had turned white.

Kenichi actually did not like this skin color very much.

But there was no way to change it now, so he could only make do with it and find a way to change it in the future when other methods became available.

”Moreover, my body’s metabolic rate is becoming slower and slower. The Otsutsuki Clan’s gene cells are truly miraculous. I always feel that the Otsutsuki Clan seems to be developing in some strange direction, making them unfathomable.”

Kenichi scratched his head.

”Will the future Otsutsuki Clan all become vegetative? After all, I’m somewhat like that now. And after the cells in my body renew themselves, the primordial chakra in the dead cells will automatically merge into the new ones.”

His current body could be said to be very peculiar.

No, it should be said to be subtle.

Very few people would be like him.

Kenichi felt that he probably could not be considered a normal living person anymore.

He was more like a vegetative person now, and his need for food had also greatly decreased.

Before, if he did not eat four or five meals a day, he would feel hungry.

But now, even if he did nothing all day, he would not feel hungry.

Kenichi had done experiments.

He would probably only feel hungry after about five days now.

It was hard to imagine how long he would be able to go without eating once he fully transformed and compressed successfully.

Kenichi even suspected that the Otsutsuki Clan’s genes had been deliberately specialized in this direction.

After all, space travel was a long process, unless there were warp drive spacecraft.

But clearly, the Otsutsuki Clan did not have such technology.

They even lacked interstellar communication capabilities.

Otherwise, why did the Otsutsuki Clan not immediately come after Otsutsuki Kaguya killed Otsutsuki Isshiki?

Moreover, Otsutsuki Kaguya seemed to have had no contact with the Otsutsuki Clan.

She was even preparing for a potential Otsutsuki Clan invasion decades or centuries later.

This meant that while the Otsutsuki Clan possessed interstellar travel capabilities, they did not possess great speed.

Their journey through the universe was also very long.

That was why they specialized in genes with very slow metabolism, allowing their bodies to endure for longer periods and find suitable places to plant the Divine Tree.

Based on these deductions, Kenichi felt that the Otsutsuki Clan was actually very simple.

The people of this race all had some quirks.

Their genes were specialized, and their direction of development had a clear pattern.

Cultivate.

Plant a tree.

Eat the fruit of the Divine Tree to ascend.

The advantage of this was that it could mass produce strong individuals.

The places where trees had to be planted were always combinations like Otsutsuki Isshiki and Otsutsuki Kaguya.

One person ate the Divine Tree’s fruit, and one person was used as a sacrifice for the Divine Tree.

They constantly repeated this pattern to cultivate enough strong individuals.

The disadvantages were naturally very obvious.

These people basically followed a single path.

Looking up, the end was in sight.

Looking back, there were countless people who had followed them step by step.

Kenichi felt that the Otsutsuki Clan must have some very fatal problems.

Such as these specialized genes.

What if these genes had hidden traps inside them, and they would collapse if exposed to certain specific things?

Kenichi felt that this idea was not impossible and had to be guarded against.

Moreover, such disadvantages were also very obvious.

Their power was too specialized, with only a few methods.

And now, wherever the strongest of the Otsutsuki Clan had reached was the peak that all Otsutsuki Clan members could reach in the future.

However, these were all Kenichi’s speculations.

After all, he had only encountered Black Zetsu and the Sage of Six Paths, two members connected to the Otsutsuki Clan.

Even to make his own power stronger, Kenichi had to cultivate in this way.

At that time, he would only be a pursuer on this path.

Kenichi’s expression was calm.

He was not in a hurry.

First, accumulate strength.

Then, deal with Otsutsuki Isshiki and Otsutsuki Kaguya.

After that, conduct research and learn more about the Otsutsuki Clan from Otsutsuki Kaguya and Isshiki, so that he could make targeted improvements.

Kenichi believed that the Otsutsuki Clan was very likely following the path of gene specialization.

After all, their genes were truly too special.

Gene specialization was a very, very, very arduous task.

It was a direction Kenichi had once considered researching, but later, Kenichi gave up.

Because genes themselves were a pile of junk code, and the kind that took a very, very long time to decipher and analyze.

Such code was not unusable, but using it had one critical problem.

The decoding process would be extremely painful.

And even if decoding succeeded, modifying it would also be a problem.

Because you never knew whether simply changing B to A would cause other parts of the code to crash and produce bugs.

So, the gene programming Kenichi was currently using was actually a simple and crude integration.

He forcibly imitated and copied based on other people’s gene chains.

It was barely successful, and it also involved a lot of luck.

However, in science, there were indeed occasional accidental discoveries, so this was not strange.

Some scientific advancements were discovered purely by chance.

To decipher and thoroughly research genes was an extremely tedious task.

It would consume a very, very long time.

Enough to kill someone.

Moreover, the required amount of data collection was astonishingly large.

Furthermore, modifying these genes or inserting other genes also required very high scientific and technological content.

At the very least, the current Shinobi World could not achieve this.

Nor could it be done.

Even Kenichi himself, combined with Amado, could not achieve this.

Therefore, Kenichi had never considered going down the path of gene specialization.

But the problem was that the Otsutsuki Clan was very likely specializing in genes.

If one wanted to decipher the potential control methods hidden within the Otsutsuki Clan, then one needed advanced research in genetics.

And even that might not be enough.

More data samples would be needed.

Kenichi felt that he would probably need to take many protective measures then.

It would be best to learn more from Otsutsuki Isshiki.

As for Otsutsuki Kaguya, Kenichi had no hope.

She was merely a consumable used as a sacrifice.

How could the Otsutsuki Clan allow such a person to know too much?

Kenichi even suspected that in the future Fourth Shinobi World War, the reason Otsutsuki Kaguya’s oppressive power was not strong enough was precisely because she was a consumable.

A defective product.

Therefore, she did not understand many of the operations that could be performed after eating the Divine Tree’s fruit, and could not be as proficient as Otsutsuki Isshiki.

After all, this was also very normal.

Just like some differences between the Hyuga Main Family and Branch Family.

The Main Family would certainly have ways to control the Branch Family.

There might also be differences in the transmission of knowledge.

So the key now was Otsutsuki Isshiki.

But this guy, Otsutsuki Isshiki, was troublesome.

Kenichi was not very comfortable with him being alive.

So the best solution for Otsutsuki Isshiki was death.

Then Kenichi would find a way to use Edo Tensei to interrogate him for information.

Cooperating with the Sage of Six Paths was also an option, but that also presented some problems.

Kenichi was a bit annoyed.

The Sage of Six Paths’ attitude was unclear.

Although it currently seemed that he was not stopping Kenichi in the Pure Land, who knew what the Sage of Six Paths would do in the future?

The Sage of Six Paths was like a thorn in Kenichi’s side, making him uncomfortable all over.

Unless the Sage of Six Paths was killed, or a reassuring reason was obtained, or the Sage of Six Paths was controlled, Kenichi really could not feel at ease cooperating with him.

This old man, in Kenichi’s opinion, was even more troublesome than Black Zetsu.

”What a hassle, Sage of Six Paths.”

Kenichi sighed and shook his head.

The problem now was not how to deal with the Sage of Six Paths.

He did not have the strength for that yet.

Instead of thinking about these things, it was better to quickly improve his own strength.

However, after today’s events, Kenichi also had some ideas about the path ahead.

At the very least, he would not have to figure out how to proceed on the spot later.

Kenichi took a deep breath.

Now, he had to wait.

Kenichi continued to pick up Samehada and began absorbing and refining chakra.

A large amount of chakra poured into Kenichi’s body.

Kenichi calmly adjusted and compressed it, then allowed this primordial chakra to merge into his cells, becoming a part of his strength.

Kenichi did not know how long he needed to keep doing this.

But he did not care.

He would definitely go all the way.

”Now!”

Kenichi’s Shadow Clone looked at the figure below.

He had already seen Otsutsuki Isshiki’s location.

He had indeed come.

And the moment Otsutsuki Isshiki paused, Kenichi’s Shadow Clone immediately threw down the atomic bomb without hesitation and rushed down along with it.

The instant Otsutsuki Isshiki looked up, Kenichi’s Shadow Clone directly detonated the nuclear weapon.

In an instant, a massive mushroom cloud rose into the sky.

The powerful shockwave and blinding light forced Otsutsuki Isshiki’s eyes shut.

The following high temperature and sudden explosive force sent Otsutsuki Isshiki flying.

Otsutsuki Isshiki spat out a mouthful of blood.

What kind of ninjutsu was this?!

Kenichi’s Shadow Clone had already dispersed on its own before the explosion.

As he looked at the enormous mushroom cloud, Madara’s eyes flickered with the fire of revenge.

”Hashirama!”

With a roar, Madara charged out.

Hashirama shook his head and followed.

He could not let his friend fight alone against that god-level opponent.

And all the other Kage who had been lying in ambush also rushed out.

The explosion’s shockwave, heat wave, and nuclear radiation were jointly blocked by their prepared ninjutsu.

Madara and Hashirama exchanged glances.

Then, the giant Perfect Susanoo and the enormous Thousand-Handed Buddha statue appeared in this desert.

A grand-scale war had begun!
