Chapter 502: Ninja World Academy

Kenichi rested his chin on one hand as he looked at the experimental subject before him.

He no longer remembered the subject’s name.

The only thing he remembered was that this person had transplanted the Mangekyo Sharingan and awakened the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan as a result.

Kenichi referred to him as Experimental Subject One.

Half a month had passed since the previous experiment.

During that time, the subject’s eyes had shown no changes.

According to Subject One himself, his vision was also normal.

”The awakening of the Eternal Mangekyo was successful. However, although this fast-growing clone’s growth rate is astonishing, it will still take some time for it to reach the limit of normal human aging. Conservatively, we’ll need to wait about two more months.”

Kenichi took out his experimental log and wrote down his thoughts.

Kenichi was actually quite eager to obtain the Eternal Mangekyo himself.

After all, that would allow him to use the Mangekyo’s ocular ninjutsu without restraint.

However, considering the drawbacks of rapid clone growth, Kenichi held back.

After all, the Eternal Mangekyo involved too much.

Unless there was an urgent danger, Kenichi would not transplant the Mangekyo Sharingan at this point.

He still needed further observation.

”Fortunately, the Shinobi World is peaceful now. Although Black Zetsu and Madara are still searching somewhere for that Otsutsuki Clan member, as long as they don’t bother me, it’s fine.”

Kenichi looked at Experimental Subject One before him.

After checking and confirming there were no issues, he allowed him to leave.

Immediately afterward, Kenichi called in Experimental Subject Two and Experimental Subject Three.

These two had also undergone the Eternal Mangekyo awakening experiment and had similarly succeeded.

Kenichi planned to observe whether any problems would arise with these three subjects.

As for the clones...

Kenichi could only say that he had handled them very cleanly.

It had to be said that during that process, Kenichi’s calm inner world had surprisingly felt a few ripples.

Of course, it was not that Kenichi had softened, nor that he could not bring himself to do it.

Rather, Kenichi had thought of a problem.

In the future, when he completed the surgery, obtained the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, and then faced someone who looked exactly like him, only to have to personally send them on their way, that feeling truly was...

Strange.

No wonder cloning technology had been banned for humans in his previous life.

After all, it was indeed somewhat unethical and involved a wide range of issues, including human relations, social morality, and so on.

However, Kenichi also knew that in his previous life, cloning had other uses, such as being used to ”resurrect” beloved deceased pets.

In foreign countries, there were specialized agencies that provided wealthy individuals with services for resurrecting cats and dogs.

A cat cost fifty thousand US dollars.

A dog cost two hundred and fifty thousand US dollars.

Although it was called ”resurrection,” it was essentially cloning a pet.

Because the genes were the same, it could be said that the deceased pet had been resurrected once it grew up.

However, its personality might differ, since personality was difficult to predict.

Just look at Amado.

His cloned daughter’s personality had changed drastically, causing Amado to never give up on resurrecting his daughter and constantly search for a method.

Kenichi suddenly paused.

He thought of something.

How advanced was Amado’s scientific technology?

That was naturally beyond doubt.

Just his cloning technique alone showed that Amado stood at the forefront of the Shinobi World, even surpassing Orochimaru and Kenichi himself.

Moreover, Amado was very innovative.

The scientific ninja tools he created were very interesting and powerful, even capable of deflecting ninjutsu.

In some sense, Amado was an absolute top-tier scientist.

So, would Amado be recruited by others?

Kenichi thought he would.

Hadn’t Kenichi himself recruited Amado?

And he had done so by resurrecting Amado’s daughter.

So Kenichi wondered, if he had not gone to the Land of Snow that day and had not recruited Amado, what organization would Amado have joined in the future?

With his capabilities, Kenichi truly did not think Amado would remain an unknown figure.

A diamond in the rough would always shine, especially in a place like the Shinobi World.

How could someone as strong as Amado remain obscure?

So Kenichi had previously thought it was fortunate that he had discovered such an excellent scientist as Amado.

Otherwise, Amado would have been wasted talent.

But now, Kenichi began to wonder.

Could Amado be a character who appeared in Boruto?

Scientific ninjutsu combined with cloning technology.

This perfectly fit the modern Shinobi World setting of Boruto.

Kenichi felt that someone as strong as Amado had no reason not to be a named character in Boruto.

He absolutely could not be just some passerby.

”Should I ask?”

Kenichi was somewhat tempted.

In any case, his Eternal Mangekyo experiment still needed time.

The clone’s aging would not show results quickly.

Why not use this time to ask Amado whether he knew more information about that Otsutsuki?

Thinking this, Kenichi left the laboratory and made his way to Amado’s laboratory.

Amado’s laboratory was no longer in its original small underground cave.

His laboratory had been moved to the capital, inside a vast complex of buildings.

A sign reading [Land of Flame National Academy of Sciences] stood upright at the entrance, guarded by jonin-level ninja.

This was not to say that Kenichi had an endless supply of talent.

Rather, the Academy of Sciences was simply too important.

Although the Land of Flame was now unified, and there was virtually no one who would enter to commit wrongdoing, what if something happened?

What if something went wrong?

Then any loss of items inside would be catastrophic.

That was why Kenichi valued this place so highly.

It had to be remembered that in scientific experiments, even a temperature drop of 0.5 degrees could lead to complete failure.

Therefore, the supporting equipment here was also very complete, with independent power supplies to provide the greatest convenience for the scientists inside.

”Lord Amamiya.”

Shiori hurried over with documents in her arms, then respectfully bowed beside Kenichi.

Kenichi waved his hand.

He knew what Shiori was busy with.

Since she had not come to him, it meant there were no major problems in the Land of Flame, and he could conduct his experiments with peace of mind.

This was the life he wanted.

”Oh, right. Arrange something. Announce that the Land of Flame Academy of Sciences is comprehensively recruiting scientists from various fields. Once they pass the assessment, they will receive preferential treatment.”

Kenichi was about to wave Shiori away, but then he thought of another issue.

”Understood.”

Shiori immediately recorded it.

Kenichi nodded, then allowed Shiori to go and arrange the matter.

Kenichi had just thought of something.

He had previously wondered that if scientists like Amado had not met him, they might have taken a very long time to appear, or might not even have appeared in the future.

But then Kenichi realized a problem.

If Amado was like this, what about others?

Surely there were not only a few scientists in this Shinobi World.

Kenichi’s current National Academy of Sciences, even now, only housed his own laboratory, Orochimaru’s laboratory, and Amado’s laboratory.

The other areas were empty.

That would not do.

For a country to achieve a technological explosion, the number of people had to increase, and talent had to be prioritized.

There could not be a situation like academic tyrants appearing.

Those so-called professors and doctors who monopolized their students’ research projects and profited from their students’ research achievements could not be allowed to appear in the Land of Flame.

Therefore, Kenichi planned to recruit widely and fill the Academy of Sciences with scientists.

That way, the future of the Shinobi World might see some rapid advancements in scientific research.

Walking to the entrance, the two jonin guards immediately saluted Kenichi.

Kenichi nodded.

He was about to enter, then suddenly remembered something.

”Is Amado at the Academy of Sciences today?”

Kenichi asked the guards.

”Reporting, sir. Academician Amado left earlier with his daughter.”

The guard immediately answered Kenichi’s question.

Kenichi’s mouth twitched.

What could he even say?

Amado was not even here?

His luck was too bad.

Kenichi had no intention of going out to find him.

The capital of the Land of Flame was very large now, and finding someone was not easy.

He decided to go to the laboratory first and see whether Orochimaru had any new research results.

Just as he was about to leave, Kenichi saw Amado walking toward him from the end of the street, chatting and laughing with his daughter.

Kenichi quickly walked over.

”Mr. Amado.”

Kenichi called out.

Amado also saw Kenichi, smiled, and greeted him.

Then he gave some money to his daughter and walked over to Kenichi.

”Mr. Amamiya, is there something you need me for?”

Amado asked with a smile.

He was in a very good mood.

Or rather, ever since his daughter had been resurrected, he had always been in a good mood.

”Mr. Amado, I want to ask, before I met you, did anyone else try to recruit you?”

Kenichi asked directly.

He did not like beating around the bush.

Amado was clearly stunned, then fell into thought.

After a moment, he remembered something.

”Yes, I met a man before. He wanted me to cooperate with him, but I refused at the time.”

Amado nodded.

After all, his scientific achievements were very high, so it was common for others to approach him.

”What did that man look like?”

Kenichi asked again.

He wanted to see whether it was related to Jigen.

Amado scratched his head.

It had been a long time ago, after all.

However, he still remembered some details and described them.

After he finished speaking, Kenichi fell silent.

It was not Jigen.

This made Kenichi a little disappointed, but it was fine.

After all, the other party had been lurking in the Shinobi World for so long, so it was understandable that he would not immediately surface.

Moreover, according to Black Zetsu, that guy had initially hidden beneath Amegakure, essentially hiding right under the Akatsuki’s nose.

This showed his excellent ability to lurk.

Excellent...

?

”Wait.”

Kenichi suddenly thought of a possibility.

The base Jigen had established earlier was right under the Akatsuki’s nose.

This proved that Jigen was very confident in his own strength and also very arrogant.

He was certain that no one in the Shinobi World, including that idiot Black Zetsu, would discover him.

That was why he had been arrogant enough to place his base there.

So, the question was this.

What would such an arrogant, self-important Otsutsuki Clan member, one who considered himself a god, do after his base was exposed?

A: Find a secluded corner to hide and plan for the future.

B: Destroy the old base and build a new one directly beneath it, mocking Black Zetsu.

C: Take advantage of the situation and build a base directly in the most attention-grabbing and popular place in the entire Shinobi World, mocking those fools.

Kenichi felt that the most likely thing for such an arrogant, self-important, condescending individual who treated others like cattle would be to set up a base beneath the capital of the Land of Flame.

Kenichi glanced underground.

These filthy guys were truly annoying.

He pinched his brow, hoping to develop a detection device soon.

Otherwise, finding them would not be easy.

He could not guard against thieves for a thousand days, could he?

Thinking this, Kenichi smiled and chatted with Amado about his research during this period, while also inquiring about Amado’s research progress.

Amado smiled mysteriously, which made Kenichi a little curious.

Had he made some extraordinary research invention?

Why else would he have that expression?

”That engine you mentioned, Orochimaru and I made a laboratory version while we were researching. Would you like to see it?”

Amado spoke with a smile.

Kenichi immediately became interested.

Following Amado into the laboratory, Kenichi saw a strange-looking contraption.

It was very large, somewhat like a bathtub.

But as Amado pressed a button, the thing began to move.

Looking at the gears and various parts being driven, Kenichi then looked at the larger wheels connected outside, which were spinning very fast.

Kenichi activated his Mangekyo, and the rotation speed instantly slowed in his vision.

”How many kilometers can this thing travel in an hour?”

Kenichi was a little curious.

This thing looked like an engine, and he did not know how Amado and Orochimaru had managed to make it.

But it had to be said, although this thing was large, it was indeed useful.
