Naruto: Orochimaru's Disciple

Chapter 511: Chapter 511: Nagato and Konan

Chapter 511: Nagato and Konan

All at once, the entire Land of Flame began to move.

Squads of ninja police led the way into the various Daimyo mansions. Those filthy parasites, who had grown fat by sucking the blood of the Shinobi World’s people, actually tried to resist when facing the ninja police.

But when ninjutsu and sturdy shackles fell upon them, these parasites learned fear for the first time.

However, it was useless.

Before the mobilized state machine, these parasites could only wail as they were imprisoned.

Those with serious crimes were directly sent to the Pure Land, vanishing from the human world.

Such actions did not cause any commotion within the Land of Flame.

People merely let out an ”oh” at the downfall of these former Daimyo, then continued with their daily lives.

After all, compared to the downfall of the Daimyo, working every day to earn money and support one’s family was the proper path.

Kenichi was not surprised by this.

After all, people generally did not care who their rulers were, as long as their families could survive normally.

This was especially true in the current Shinobi World.

Although the disappearance of the Daimyo might make people feel somewhat uncomfortable, the overall operation of the country had no problems.

After all, these Daimyo had simply been a bunch of parasites before.

Whether they existed or not did not make much difference.

In fact, without them, the people of the Shinobi World might even live better.

This was a somewhat ironic fact, but it also provided Kenichi with a good opportunity to eliminate these parasites.

At the very least, Kenichi did not need to worry about what impact removing these parasites would have on the country.

If it were not for Kenichi wanting to use these people as laboratory consumables, he would not even bother imprisoning them.

Sending all these parasites to the Pure Land was what Kenichi truly wanted to do.

”Lord Amamiya, please take a look at this.”

Shiori walked over quickly and handed Kenichi a document.

Kenichi took it and raised an eyebrow.

He was a little surprised.

He had not expected there to be some smart people among those parasites.

After the Daimyo’s authority was removed, these smart people had very consciously chosen to separate from their main families, taking a sum of money to live as ordinary wealthy individuals.

Furthermore, according to the intelligence, these people had not participated in the foolish restoration movements.

They simply lived their lives peacefully.

Onoki had sent this letter to ask Kenichi how these individuals should be handled.

Kenichi felt a little conflicted after seeing it.

He was also somewhat unsure how to deal with these smart people.

But considering that they had already cut ties with their main families, Kenichi decided to give them a pass.

”For now, leave them be. Then have Onoki and the others monitor these individuals. If they attempt to restore their former power or do anything suspicious, send them to reunite with their families.”

Kenichi quickly made his decision.

Anyway, there were not many of these individuals.

Since they were so smart and knew their place, Kenichi naturally did not mind giving them a chance.

A chance to live.

However, the premise was that these individuals had to remain smart.

If they started acting foolishly, then there would be nothing more to say.

Upon hearing Kenichi’s arrangements, Shiori immediately agreed, then quickly left to report the situation to Onoki and instruct him to act according to Kenichi’s orders.

Kenichi then stood up, stretched, and walked out.

He did not stay in the laboratory.

After all, constantly staying in the lab was not good.

Going out to change his mood was also a good option.

Kenichi wandered around and arrived at the Ministry of Justice.

”You guy...”

Nagato’s expression was not very good when he saw Kenichi.

He narrowed his eyes at Kenichi, then coughed.

Kenichi looked at Nagato.

Nagato’s body looked a little fleshier now.

At least he no longer looked like before, when he had resembled a walking skeleton, which had given Kenichi a headache.

The current Nagato looked much more normal.

His complexion was a little rosier, and he even came to work using his original body instead of the Six Paths of Pain puppets.

Kenichi was quite happy to see Nagato like this.

After all, Nagato being able to become like this also proved that his Land of Flame truly conformed to the Akatsuki’s dream.

Moreover, although Nagato had also been the one who killed his master in the original work, Nagato was at least not so cold-blooded and ruthless.

Jiraiya had many opportunities to leave back then, but Jiraiya wanted to gather information, which was why he stayed there and eventually died at Nagato’s hands.

Obito, on the other hand, was different.

He had struck without mercy, like a madman.

This was also why Kenichi had wanted to kill Obito.

That lunatic Obito had probably thought at the time that the world was already sick, and that everyone would eventually reunite in the world of Infinite Tsukuyomi anyway.

So it was better to kill to his heart’s content in the real world, then become the Shinobi World’s deepest lover in the world of Infinite Tsukuyomi.

Kenichi wondered how Minato would feel if he knew about this.

Kenichi still had not told Minato the truth about what had happened back then.

That truth was too cruel for Minato and Kushina.

Unless Minato asked him personally, Kenichi did not plan to tell him.

Anyway, telling him now would be useless.

It would serve no purpose other than making Minato feel terrible.

”Nagato, when are you going to confess to Konan? I’m waiting to attend your wedding, you know.”

Kenichi calmly pulled up a chair and sat beside Nagato.

Then he crossed his legs and asked.

Nagato could not help rolling his eyes when he heard this.

This guy was at it again.

However, hearing Kenichi’s question, Nagato uncharacteristically blushed a little.

He coughed, then looked out of the office with some hesitation.

Kenichi saw this and directly closed the door, which made Nagato feel a little more relaxed.

He hesitated for a moment, then looked at Kenichi while picking at his fingers.

Kenichi raised an eyebrow as he looked at Nagato.

Had this guy actually confessed?

Or had something else happened that Kenichi did not know about?

Although Konan had been working during this time, she still came to see Nagato every day.

Kenichi did not think these two had no contact.

”Cough, cough... You mean Konan, she... to me...”

Nagato’s face carried a hint of embarrassment.

Before, he had not considered anything about dating or marriage.

After all, back then, he had already been working hard just to fulfill Yahiko’s dying wish.

Although sometimes, when he looked at Konan, who had always taken care of him, Nagato would feel a slight stir in his heart, that stir was quickly swallowed by the anger within him, making him focus more on fulfilling Yahiko’s wish.

So he truly had not considered anything with Konan.

Now, the emergence of the Land of Flame had helped him fulfill that wish.

Because of that, Nagato could now seemingly begin to think about what came next.

Kenichi rolled his eyes when he heard this.

But this question was indeed worth discussing.

After all, whether Konan liked Nagato was a very serious question.

Konan, Nagato, and Yahiko were like family and companions who had grown up together since childhood.

Their feelings for each other were often closer to family and kinship.

If Konan did not like Nagato and only saw him as a brother or family member, would that not be incredibly awkward?

Although the original work had not mentioned this issue, Konan guarding Nagato’s remains was because Nagato was her dear friend.

However, Konan did not seem to have any romantic relationship with anyone else.

Or rather, throughout the entire Akatsuki and the entire Naruto manga, romantic storylines had been very weak.

Kishimoto did not seem to like drawing romance.

Only at the very end, when it was about to conclude, did he introduce some romantic elements, which led to endless debates among various shipping factions.

However, this was reality, and Kenichi also needed to consider this issue.

Thinking of this, Kenichi realized that he seemed to have never asked Konan’s opinion.

So Kenichi walked straight out, leaving Nagato stunned.

Kenichi went directly to Konan’s workplace and found Konan, who was busy processing documents.

Konan was still wearing her Akatsuki uniform, and her nails were painted.

She looked very focused.

However, upon noticing Kenichi, Konan also looked up and showed a slight smile.

She had a good impression of Kenichi.

Although Kenichi had killed her mentor Jiraiya, Konan had witnessed that battle and knew that Jiraiya had come with the resolve to die.

So she had no complaints about Kenichi.

”Konan, do you like Nagato?”

Kenichi propped his chin on his hand and sat opposite Konan, then asked her directly.

Konan was startled at first.

Then her entire face instantly turned red, as red as a tomato.

Kenichi saw this scene and thought, Oh.

He understood.

Konan did have affection for Nagato.

Otherwise, she would not have blushed like that.

It was just that Nagato had been completely consumed by thoughts of revenge before, so Konan naturally did not dare to express her feelings.

Kenichi rubbed his chin.

If he did not interfere, Konan and Nagato probably would not be able to face this issue.

”Nagato likes you too.”

Kenichi continued to twist the knife.

Konan’s face turned even redder.

Kenichi even wondered whether Konan would faint from excitement because of this.

But at least now, he had helped Konan and Nagato break through this issue.

The rest was for them to resolve themselves.

However, before that, Kenichi found Nagato again and told him that Konan liked him.

Then, ignoring the dizzy Nagato, Kenichi left directly.

There was only so much he could do now.

He could not do anything about what happened next.

After all, when it came to dating, he could not possibly go and help Nagato date, could he?

That would be too absurd.

So, the rest was up to Nagato.

Kenichi glanced at Nagato’s office.

Based on his understanding of Nagato, there should be a preliminary result today.

After all, Nagato and Konan met almost every day, and Konan was very concerned about Nagato’s health, visiting him daily.

Kenichi was quite curious.

After he exposed their relationship, what would Nagato do?

How would Nagato face Konan?

And what would Konan do?

Kenichi was very curious.

If Nagato did not have the Rinnegan and keen senses, Kenichi would have wanted to stay and eavesdrop.

That would certainly be very interesting.

”Nagato... I... should we go eat later?”

After work in the afternoon, Nagato was standing in his office, restlessly tidying up his things, when he suddenly heard Konan’s voice.

This made Nagato shiver all over.

He pursed his lips and looked toward the doorway.

There stood Konan, dressed in her Akatsuki uniform, with a blush on her face.

She was playing with the hair near her temple.

Upon noticing his gaze, she shyly averted her eyes, making Nagato’s heart pound.

He nervously pursed his lips and could not help recalling what Kenichi had said earlier.

Konan liked him too.

Thinking of this, Nagato became even more nervous.

He fidgeted and rubbed his hands, then looked at Konan, but still nodded.

The two then silently walked outside and came to a small restaurant, where they sat down.

Konan skillfully ordered a pile of food, then waited for it to be served.

However, when she saw Nagato sitting opposite her, Konan’s face turned even redder.

She lightly bit her lower lip, looking at Nagato uneasily.

Nagato looked at Konan in front of him and took a deep breath.

Konan liked him.

And he liked Konan.

So why were they still like this?

As soon as he thought of this, a trace of courage filled Nagato’s heart.

He mustered his courage and looked at Konan.

”Konan...”

Nagato began.

As soon as he spoke, Konan shivered all over, her face flushing all the way to her ears.

Nagato saw it, but he did not stop.

Because he had mustered a rare burst of courage.

If he stopped now, he did not know whether he would ever have the courage to speak again.

So Nagato squeezed his thigh and looked at Konan with all his courage.

”Konan, I... let’s... let’s go out!”

Nagato blurted it out, almost shouting.

Konan trembled all over, then lowered her head, gripping her clothes tightly.

Then, a voice as soft as a mosquito’s hum sounded.

”Mm.”
