Chapter 509: Jigen’s New Base

”It’s just as you thought.”

Black Zetsu sat in front of Kenichi with a grim expression, and Kenichi’s face was not much better.

Although he had guessed that someone as arrogant as Jigen might choose this location, he truly had not expected Jigen to set up his base directly beneath the government office building of the Land of Flame’s new capital.

This sent a chill down his spine.

Fortunately, Kenichi had mentally prepared himself, so although he was still somewhat surprised, it was not entirely unacceptable.

After all, Jigen being here was much more convenient than him hiding in some dark corner.

If he had hidden away in some remote corner of the Shinobi World, Kenichi would not have known how to find him.

So, Jigen appearing in this place could only be considered a good thing.

”So, what do you plan to do now?”

Kenichi asked Black Zetsu.

Now that Jigen’s location was known, Kenichi was curious how Black Zetsu intended to deal with him.

Based on Kenichi’s own calculations, he believed Jigen’s strength was currently the strongest in the Shinobi World.

And if Madara had used his revived body when facing Jigen last time, Kenichi might have had to find a way to solve the problem of Madara’s soul damage.

But even if Madara had used an Edo Tensei body at the time, his soul had still been severely damaged.

According to the last encounter, Kenichi discovered that Jigen seemed to have mastered Six Paths Mode, and he could even damage souls.

Black Zetsu’s expression was ugly.

He narrowed his eyes at Kenichi, also wrestling with this issue.

He was very clear about Jigen’s strength.

Madara would not gain any advantage.

Although Madara often claimed that simply retrieving his Rinnegan would absolutely solve the problem, Black Zetsu always felt that Jigen seemed to have some other hidden trump card he had not revealed.

So Black Zetsu was not sure whether Madara could deal with Jigen if he recovered his Rinnegan.

If not, and Jigen escaped, then finding him next time would not be easy.

If other unforeseen complications appeared, that would be even more troublesome.

Kenichi was currently pondering the same question.

Jigen was not only Black Zetsu’s enemy.

He was also Kenichi’s enemy.

Kenichi also needed to deal with Jigen.

He even wanted to capture Jigen and study the Otsutsuki Clan through him, increasing his understanding of the Otsutsuki Clan so he could better resolve future issues.

However, Kenichi was now considering one question.

What was Jigen’s true identity?

Jigen seemed to have been hiding in the Shinobi World for a long time.

After his last appearance, Kenichi felt that Jigen seemed to have some hidden weakness that prevented him from acting freely.

Otherwise, it would not have been so easy for Madara to escape.

So the question was, what could Jigen’s identity be?

If Jigen was a normal Otsutsuki, why would he hide his name?

In the current Shinobi World, was there anyone he needed to be wary of?

Therefore, Kenichi believed that Jigen probably had some unspeakable difficulty or was severely injured.

Kenichi looked at the table and remembered something.

When Kaguya came, she had a companion.

That companion should originally have been the one to eat the Divine Tree seed and gain stronger power, not Kaguya.

But Kaguya had ambushed that unfortunate person, causing them to be devoured by the Divine Tree and perish.

However, now the problem was this.

Jigen, an Otsutsuki, had appeared in the current Shinobi World.

What could his true identity be?

Kenichi felt that if he were Kishimoto, rather than making Jigen an Otsutsuki from another planet, it would be more plausible for Jigen to be the unfortunate one who had been ambushed by Kaguya and fed to the Divine Tree, but somehow survived while severely injured.

That would be why he had been trying to find a way to heal.

And it was also because he was severely injured that he had let Madara go when he was at a disadvantage.

Kenichi was stunned for a moment.

Thinking about it this way, it seemed increasingly possible.

After all, this could basically explain why Jigen, that arrogant fellow, had to hide at the very bottom of the Shinobi World and had not even appeared in Shippuden or the Naruto manga.

This was clearly a character Kishimoto had placed in Boruto, which was why his strength was so exaggerated, even capable of beating the current Madara.

And this also explained why he was an Otsutsuki, yet had been biding his time until Boruto.

Was it not because he was severely injured and needed to recuperate?

Looking at Black Zetsu’s shifting expression, Kenichi stroked his chin.

He had an idea.

Could Black Zetsu have guessed?

If not, then could Kenichi fan the flames?

As long as Black Zetsu realized Jigen’s true identity, what would he do?

Push the Eye of the Moon Plan wildly?

Or disregard everything and reveal himself?

Kenichi shook his head.

No.

He could not tell Black Zetsu himself.

He could not say it.

Otherwise, if Black Zetsu really went mad because of this and decided to wildly advance the Eye of the Moon Plan, then how would Kenichi be able to slack off?

Would he not be constantly harassed by a maddened Black Zetsu?

So in the end, Kenichi decided not to tell Black Zetsu his conjecture.

Even though Kenichi felt that his conjecture was, to some extent, no longer a conjecture but very likely the actual situation.

After all, if Jigen was truly an Otsutsuki who had come to investigate Kaguya, with the strength and style of the Otsutsuki Clan, would he need to be so sneaky?

It was like Homelander being so strong.

Would anyone really expect Homelander to calmly tolerate being cuckolded?

How could that be?

If he did not tear someone apart directly, that would already be Homelander showing conscience.

So Kenichi could be certain that Jigen was definitely not an Otsutsuki who had come from outer space to investigate Kaguya.

He could only be the unfortunate one who had been ambushed by Kaguya.

Only that could explain why he was doing these things now.

”This time, it might require both you and Madara himself to act together to have a chance of keeping that guy here.”

Black Zetsu thought of a solution. ℴ

Kenichi raised an eyebrow when he heard it.

He glanced at Black Zetsu.

Him and Madara acting together?

That would not be impossible.

But the problem was that even if he and Madara acted together now, the probability of winning was not very high.

Kenichi felt that Jigen’s strength was probably above Six Paths Madara during the Fourth Great Ninja War.

He might even be stronger.

Therefore, if they wanted to defeat Jigen, the cost might be a bit high.

Kenichi felt that he might have some other ways to increase the winning rate.

Just like before the Fourth Great Ninja War, Yakushi Kabuto alone had messed up the entire Shinobi World.

Kenichi felt that letting the current Shinobi World’s ninja fight would be a bit of a pity.

But if it was letting Edo Tensei bodies fight, then it perfectly met Kenichi’s requirements.

And it could also be used to see whether that old man, the Sage of Six Paths, knew about Jigen’s existence.

According to Kenichi’s idea, Jigen was deeply hidden, and it was likely that the Sage of Six Paths, that unfortunate fellow, did not even know of Jigen’s existence.

So once Jigen was exposed to the Sage of Six Paths, the Sage of Six Paths would probably not be able to sit still.

Even if he could, Kenichi could also take the opportunity to find out what the Sage of Six Paths was doing.

After all, for the Sage of Six Paths to ignore an Otsutsuki, and possibly an Otsutsuki who had been betrayed by his mother, it could only mean that the Sage of Six Paths was busy with something he considered very important.

Only that could explain why the Sage of Six Paths would ignore Jigen’s affairs.

”I think it might be better to use Edo Tensei and reanimate a few more strong individuals. For someone like Jigen, whose strength surpasses the current Madara, and who, according to you, has other trump cards, it seems Jigen will be even more difficult to deal with than we imagined. So preparing more is not a bad thing.”

Kenichi stroked his chin.

Black Zetsu nodded in agreement.

He felt that Kenichi was right.

Since they planned to deal with Jigen, they might as well resolve him once and for all.

Otherwise, if something went wrong, it would be even more troublesome.

Thinking of this, Black Zetsu’s expression toward Kenichi softened considerably.

At the very least, Kenichi was doing a good thing, proving that he was serious about cooperating with him.

Thinking of this, Black Zetsu’s opinion of Kenichi improved slightly.

”So, who do you plan to reanimate with Edo Tensei?”

Black Zetsu asked.

He knew the Edo Tensei ninjutsu was excellent and very useful.

”Of course, the Kage. Only the Kage can deal with Jigen.”

Kenichi saw it clearly.

No matter how many ordinary ninja there were, it would be useless.

Only Kage-level powerhouses were qualified to intervene in such a battle.

So Kenichi’s target was the various Kage of the ninja villages.

Only these Kage could participate in such a battle.

So many Kage, would that be enough to deal with Jigen?

It was hard to say.

After all, the Five Kage combined had a tough time against Madara.

Kenichi felt that among the ninja reanimated this time, probably only the First Hokage, Hashirama, could be a true asset.

However, in that case, a sufficiently complete Edo Tensei ritual would be needed for these Kage to display strength closer to their original power.

Black Zetsu also agreed with this point.

Ordinary ninja trying to deal with Jigen would likely just be cannon fodder.

Only these Kage-level powerhouses could deal with Jigen.

Black Zetsu looked at Kenichi, his eyes showing even more satisfaction.

However, thinking of Jigen, Black Zetsu felt a little apprehensive.

His strength was so great, and he was very likely an Otsutsuki.

But if he was an Otsutsuki, what exactly did he want by hiding in this place?

Black Zetsu did not know.

He even wondered what the best course of action was.

If they could resolve Jigen this time, that would naturally be for the best.

If not, it would be even more troublesome.

At that point, he would probably have to let his mother act to deal with that guy.

”Then let’s prepare, Black Zetsu. You collect the bones of the Kage from the various ninja villages. I need them for Edo Tensei.”

Kenichi said to Black Zetsu.

Although he now had Hashirama’s cells, they were clearly not enough.

He still needed the body tissues of others.

And since the Kage’s bodies were gone, only their bones remained.

So he could only use bones to complete the Edo Tensei ninjutsu.

Black Zetsu did not object.

He did know where the remains of these Kage were.

After all, after learning about the unique ninjutsu of Edo Tensei, Black Zetsu had specifically collected the locations of the remains of strong individuals in the Shinobi World so they could be used in the future.

And now was the time to use them.

Black Zetsu left, and Kenichi also breathed a sigh of relief.

He glanced at the floor.

The thought of Jigen hiding beneath made him uncomfortable.

Jigen was hiding there partly to satisfy his twisted sense of humor, and partly to use the people in the Land of Flame’s new capital as his shield against enemy attacks.

If anyone wanted to attack him, it would inevitably cause a reaction from the people in the capital.

So Kenichi still needed to find a way.

Although he could directly sacrifice these people, it ultimately was not good and could bring hidden dangers to the country.

If there were other options, Kenichi also wanted to avoid this problem as much as possible so that the Land of Flame could transition more smoothly into an era of peace.

Currently, the Land of Flame was being watched by countless ambitious individuals.

Who knew how many people wanted to restore the original countries and systems?

Especially the descendants of the Daimyo.

Those guys were arrogant.

Kenichi had kept them before to ensure a smooth transition of power, but now, it was almost time for a reckoning.

Those guys still had not given up.

Some were even trying to bribe ninja to overthrow this nascent country.

Kenichi massaged his temples.

These guys were really troublesome.

But never mind.

Kenichi would always find a way to deal with them.

”It just so happens that the lab is short on materials during this period. All these guys will be used as materials.”
