Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 997: Chapter 995: Strategic Divine Might Deterrence

The full power of Arceus is a terrifying mystery to the people of the Beasts Pirates, as no one has ever witnessed Arceus with all the stone tablets.

For ordinary people, retrieving a stone tablet is a great achievement. Even just bringing back news is worthy of a great reward, but among these people, Yamato is an exception once again.

In other dynasties, she would be a general with no additional titles to confer, but she doesn’t care about such things; her biggest goal now is simply to escape from Kaidou.

”Yamato, look at this battlefield. This is hell for the weak, a slaughterhouse. A decision by those in power leads to countless deaths on this battlefield.

If the recent attack had come down, the consequences would have been uncertain.”

”That’s why I hate war. I don’t understand why my father is so obsessed with it. What’s so good about it?”

”War is not a good thing, but peace is achieved through strength. Relying on the mercy of others is impossible. Becoming strong enough so that no one dares to attack you is the way in this chaotic world.

That’s why I agree with your father’s approach. Although it’s quite torturous, it pushes you to become stronger and allows you to live better.”

”No, no, no, foster father, I think there’s a problem with your logic. Clearly, my father has a bit of a problem in the head. Do you think a normal person would use Supreme King’s Haki to wake someone up?”

Thinking back to those days, Yamato still finds them ridiculous. As long as she overslept, she’d be given additional training by Kaidou, who deliberately used Supreme King’s Haki to wake her up.

At that time, she couldn’t withstand Kaidou’s Supreme King’s Haki, so she would be knocked out and forced to be late, leading to more training from Kaidou—just one of many examples.

Compared to training, she feels Kaidou is more like playing with her.

”So you just need to strive to become stronger. In that case, if you can master all of Zekrom’s power, Kaidou wouldn’t be your match now.”

”Wait, foster father, what do you mean by ’now’?”

When it comes to Kaidou, Yamato’s senses become very sharp, as if she’s noticed something terrifying.

”It means exactly that. You’ll have to figure out the rest yourself.”

At this moment, a giant shadow descended from the sky, the mouths of the Yamata no Orochi holding a CP0 as it landed in front of the Origin.

The shockwaves from the recent attack affected not just the ground but also the sky. The Navy’s Flying Dragon Team and the Yamata no Orochi were the first to be impacted.

Under the decision of the Five Elders, the Flying Dragon Team, which could still fight against the Yamata no Orochi for a while, was destroyed by the shockwaves. The five of them never thought someone could repel such an attack.

Even the Yamata no Orochi lost a life due to being too close to the explosion point; this is its revived self. As for the CP0 in its mouth, it was caught when passing nearby.

Its creator detests these agents, something the Yamata no Orochi knows very well.

The revival of the Yamata no Orochi has a benefit: it clears any debuffs previously on its body. Therefore, the revived Yamata no Orochi was unaffected by any shockwave impacts, and upon encountering a CP0 made dizzy by the shockwaves, it captured him with ease.

”Roar~”

”Hmm, you did a good job. Just looking at these CP agents is annoying. Keep moving forward, let’s see how far Kaidou wants to take this.”

Yamato was still contemplating life on the ship, but the Origin continued to sail towards the interior of Marinfanto. Under the influence of the explosion’s shockwaves, a large part of Marinfanto’s ice surface shattered, creating a ready-made route.

However, the CP0 attacked by the Yamata no Orochi was only one of them. Other active CP0s on the battlefield had already sent their messages back to Mary Geoise.

...

”How is that possible? That attack was... was intercepted?”

Typically calm, the Five Elders showed rare signs of panic. During their reign, they received all kinds of bizarre messages from around the world every day.

The fall of nations, the extinction of royal families, the rise of pirates, the advent of the Great Pirate Era—these messages were nothing to them. But today was different.

”How is that possible... but that power...”

The World Government possesses trump cards that others cannot compete with. With these, even though the world remains in chaos, they can maintain good control.

Whenever something exceeds their control, they let it be completely obliterated. This is the World Government’s way of cleansing.

In the long history, countless islands have been obliterated for this reason. The Five Elders are not Imu, nor do they use methods of the past—just a new weapon.

Yet, from the feedback, it seems there’s been damage to that thing. This is something even the Five Elders cannot handle.

”Lord Imu will... be angry when he wakes up...”

”At least it’s not destroyed, fixing it afterwards will suffice. Vegapunk is capable of that. The question is, what to do next? Regarding their stance....”

”How did he manage to do it? Could it be... is that ship Pluto? Or something made by the shipwrights of Water 7?”

They have their own conjecture about Tom’s whereabouts. The one most closely associated with the Fishman Race is Whitebeard and Kaidou. Yet Whitebeard’s nature is merely to protect Fishman Island with his flag. If Tom truly has a connection with them, it most likely lies with the Beasts Pirates.
