Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 976: Chapter 975: Frostbitten Ice

”Garp, once again it’s your family... and your son’s subordinate...”

With Kaidou already here, if Dragon also joins, Sengoku might have to reconsider his strategic focus. With two Four Emperor crews plus the Revolutionary Army, it would be difficult for the Navy to handle, especially with Garp not intending to exert himself.

Garp wasn’t just sitting; just now, he punched Marco, who was trying to rescue Ace, away.

The First Division Commander was punched away by him, which did boost the Navy’s morale, but as Garp’s old partner, Sengoku knew exactly how much force Garp used in that punch.

Rather than saying Garp’s punch was meant to make Marco retreat, it would be more accurate to say that punch preserved most of Marco’s combat power, allowing him to deal with other enemies.

If Garp hadn’t moved, Sengoku would have, being the Navy Admiral he couldn’t just let Ace be rescued right in front of him, especially not by Marco.

”...”

Garp didn’t speak; he didn’t know what to say, instead Sengoku started his speech.

”Don’t be chaotic! Just a rookie! But don’t underestimate him; he will be a seed of evil in the future!

Straw Hat Luffy, Fire Fist Ace’s sworn brother growing up together, his bloodline is.... the son of Revolutionary Dragon!!” ℯ

Being Dragon’s son seems like a notice to all Navy to exhaust efforts to eliminate him, but in truth, this statement has another layer of meaning.

With Luffy’s strength, regular Navy cannot significantly influence him, Vice Admirals and above on the battlefield are all engaged in combat and lacking distraction ability.

The few who can confront Luffy, are those top-tier forces, and they are all high-ranking Navy officials who are aware Dragon is Garp’s son.

To a certain degree, Sengoku’s words are telling these people, Luffy is Garp’s grandson, so go easy on him.

Akainu and Kizaru didn’t mind; they are currently tied up, facing the terrifying destructive power of a youthful Whitebeard, each strike needing serious defense.

The most leisurely is actually Kuzan, at least previously, as a few regular commanders can’t handle him.

Upon hearing Sengoku’s shout, his attention also shifts to Luffy.

”Mr. Garp’s grandson...”

Before taking any action, his brain sends a dangerous signal.

”Thundering Hakken!”

Bang!

Kuzan’s form reassembles not far, dispersing his body timely allows him to successfully evade Yamato’s attack.

”Ah lah lah, young lady, I recall you not being the combat type, right? You also have no relation with the Whitebeard Pirates?”

Seeing Yamato suddenly targeting him, Kuzan is a bit puzzled; among the Navy’s Three Great Admirals, he’s the one having the most contact with Yamato, and in his assessment, Yamato is nothing like Kaidou.

Every encounter with her feels like a tourist, without any intent to fight.

”Indeed, I don’t wish to fight, but precisely because I don’t want to fight, I must fight you.”

”Don’t you find that statement contradictory?”

With Kaidou beginning to move, Yamato’s plan of slacking off changes accordingly; Hancock and Jinbe can act from a distance, if prolonged Kaidou won’t accept it, so she needs a new opponent.

Over at Whitebeard’s side tied down by two Admirals, she has no interest interfering, getting involved there could be more trouble, she shares no relations with Whitebeard and doesn’t want to exert effort there.

Among the remaining, Kuzan naturally becomes the best choice.

Girls all have their little secrets, Yamato is no exception, there are aspects of her even unknown to Kaidou, like the Ice Immunity ability.

Kaidou’s powers cover a broad range, lightning, flames, wind blade are his usual elements, aside is a strong physique, ice isn’t among his used abilities.

Due to the Icicle Plate just returning, there’s no one within the Hundred Beasts adept at using ice, therefore Yamato’s breakthrough yielding Ice Immunity hadn’t exhibited within Hundred Beasts.

As a user of the Ice-Ice Fruit, Kuzan’s go-to method is Ice Seal; compared with flash and lava, Kuzan’s direct explosive power is slightly less; facing absolute countermeasure Yamato, he can only use body techniques.

Comparing body techniques, thoroughly battered by Kaidou, Yamato fears none, across the battlefield, Kuzan has the name, power, but finds difficulty inflicting effective harm.

Utilizing Kaidou’s lack of intelligence, she believes she can flawlessly execute her plan of slacking off.

”Doesn’t matter, for my wonderful future, please demonstrate more of your power.”

”Wonderful life... all of you disappearing is the true beauty, Ice Orb!”

Compared to the pirates purely aiming for loot and slaughter, Yamato is much kinder, but her identity remains as a pirate.

To the Navy, pirates are the instability’s root of The Sea.

Kuzan raises his hand towards Yamato, several icicles shoot from his palm, upon impact, Yamato is encapsulated by an ice-made sphere at its center, yet Kuzan feels no relief.

”Ice Blade!”

Chill accumulates in his palm forming a curved blade, with Haki’s augment, slashes towards his constructed ice orb.

The Ice-Ice Fruit is hard to directly kill a target, even as ice sculpture, if thawed life stays unthreatened. To end a target requires smashing the frozen form.

The razor-thin blade made by chill is tremendously sharp, alongside Haki’s augment, this temporary weapon rivals common Famed Sword, but before approaching, the orb fractures.

At this moment, Yamato enters Human-Beast Form, swinging a stick to block his weapon.

”Indeed, such attack level can’t restrain you.”

”Try harder, maybe you’ll succeed, let me see how far Headquarter Admiral can go!”

Neither Kaidou nor Kuzan knows Yamato’s exact abilities, he never heard of an ability entirely immune to Ice Seal.

Just believes Yamato has greater resistance towards his ice due to her ability to use ice likewise.

Although Yamato fought Kuzan, her focus wasn’t on fighting; if not for Kaidou watching, she would’ve been gone.

Under Kaidou’s coercion, Yamato is forced into full efforts refreshing Kuzan’s understanding.

”Bagenjin!”

”Ice Pheasant Slash!”

Focused mainly on Jinbe, Kuzan doesn’t regard the chill accompanying.

”We’re both ice, ice can’t harm ice.”

”That... might not be certain, Ice Dragon Spin Kill!”

The chill at Ajin’s front converges into an ice dragon, spreading along his Ice Blade reaching his arm.

Without Haki’s augment, not a physical attack, Kuzan isn’t concerned, however, a peculiar sensation strikes his arm shortly.

”Violent Pheasant Beak!”

The left hand releases a bird made of ice, the giant icy bird crashing towards Yamato ahead; Yamato’s immunity is against effects from Ice Seal, doesn’t neutralize physical impact from ice; the giant icy bird with wings spreading several meters gives Kuzan temporary space.

”Hey, hey, somewhat joking right?”

A few black-purple patterns appear on Aokiji’s right wrist, as an Ice-Ice Fruit user, he’s aware of what it signifies.

Typically termed - frostbite.
