Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 979: Chapter 978: Sengoku Buddha, Black Arm Zephyr

Muscles bulged on both arms, the scales flashing with a cold gleam. Kaidou in his Human-Beast Form tightly gripped the Hassaikai, with Supreme King Haki infused at its tip, and with a sprint, smashed towards the Great Buddha Transformation of Sengoku.

Facing Kaidou’s swinging Wolf Fang Club, Sengoku crossed his arms, forming a cross, his knees slightly bent, and his body’s center of gravity began to shift downward.

The golden Buddha body continued to collide, with a faint swastika symbol appearing on the arms.

”Vajra Wisdom·Kura!”

The swastika symbol began to rotate, a barrier composed of golden light emerged in front of Sengoku, blocking the Wolf Fang Club swung by Kaidou in mid-air.

However, the enormous impact did not dissipate, but instead pushed Sengoku all the way backward, breaking through several walls before finally stopping at the rear of Marinfanto.

This was originally a peaceful town, with most residents living at the foot of Marinfanto not having to worry about pirate harassment; monsters like the Golden Lion were ultimately rare.

However, by now, this peace had long been shattered, with many houses collapsed under the influence of Whitebeard’s tremors, and occasionally stray cannonballs would bombard the area.

”Ha ha ha, Great Buddha’s Golden Body, it’s really dazzling.”

”Kaidou, this war is of no benefit to you. You were willing to negotiate with the World Government, so why intervene in such meaningless matters?”

”Meaningless? The meaning of war is fighting, how can it be meaningless?

And don’t misunderstand, I have always loved fighting, and order is just the preference of others.

But we all hate the same kind of people; the World Government towering above is not likable, that’s why we united together, and now it seems, that’s the wisest decision I made.”

Seeing Sengoku block his attack, Kaidou didn’t feel there was any problem; this is the Navy Admiral, if he couldn’t even withstand such a strike, then the Navy would be too dull.

”You madman...”

Fighting for the sake of fighting and intervening in war just to satisfy his own desires, Kaidou’s madness was incomprehensible to Sengoku.

”Call it whatever you want; anyway, I’m ready to fight to my heart’s content! Don’t worry about your execution platform, I couldn’t care less whether Roger’s son lives or dies. If he fell into your hands, it only proves that he’s not strong enough.

But before I enjoy myself, just fight honestly with me!”

Boom!

As Kaidou’s words fell, several thunderclaps resonated in the sky, with the sky above Kaidou and Sengoku covered by dark clouds.

”Mad Thunder·Hiku Naraku!”

The lightning within the clouds was attracted by Kaidou, smashing down towards Sengoku along with the swing of the Hassaikai.

”Unmoving Ming King!”

Sengoku swung his palm to block Kaidou’s Hassaikai, a special aura bursting through the clouds, breaking through the gathering clouds above, allowing a ray of sunshine to shine on Sengoku’s body, making the Great Buddha’s Golden Body even more dazzling.

”The World Government represents world order; without this order, the sea would only become more chaotic, and the unchecked evil would only bring disaster to the world.”

A shockwave gathered on Sengoku’s left arm, gradually compressed into a light point.

”The Navy is the world’s barrier, the Navy reigning over the seas is the justice on the sea, Buddha’s Impact!”

Sengoku’s left palm struck Kaidou’s chest, while the light point exploded, and Supreme King Haki faintly manifested on his palm.

Boom!

Kaidou’s body was sent flying, knocking over several buildings before stopping, but even before the dust settled, a wild laugh emanated from within.

”Ha ha ha! That’s more like it, a Navy with Supreme King Haki, I haven’t encountered one in ages! Gundari Ryuuseigun!”

Kaidou returned to Sengoku with even greater speed, Sengoku’s Buddha’s Impact had completely ignited his fighting spirit. The young Whitebeard was a formidable opponent, but Sengoku from the same era as Whitebeard was equally a rare strong opponent.

Supreme King Haki, Human-Human Fruit·Mythical·Great Buddha Form, as the Navy Admiral, Sengoku had the strength to match it.

”Fukū Kongo Hyakushiki!”

The golden Buddha palm swung out shadows, and the match of fists and clubs unfolded, an Animal Zoan battle commenced in the city, but amid their battle, heavy footsteps echoed through Marinfanto’s streets.

Crack, crack...

Under the rain curtain, a slightly imbalanced figure gradually approached, a head of purple hair drenched by the rain, gazing at this devastated town, his eyes turned towards Kaidou.

Crack, crack... 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

A collision sound came from the mechanical arm on his right hand, the front forming a fist-like shape. Its holder, once erupted in force, arrived beside Sengoku and Kaidou.

Bang!

”Smashing Hurricane!”

At the same time, Sengoku, in the Great Buddha Transformation, withstood Kaidou’s Thunderous Hakken, the deep sound echoing throughout most of the town.

Special machamp force transmitted into Sengoku’s body with the Hassaikai strike, but relying on the Great Buddha’s ability, Sengoku wasn’t greatly affected.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Sengoku grabbed Kaidou’s shoulder, restricting his movement ability.

”Now is the time!”

Boom!

The mechanical arm aimed at Kaidou’s head, but between the mechanical arm and Kaidou appeared a transparent barrier, a seemingly weak barrier now became an insurmountable gap, even blocking the seastone bullet fired from the center of the mechanical arm.

Subsequently, a verdant energy surrounded Kaidou’s dragon tail, spinning him, striking Sengoku, creating distance between him and the two.

A higher level of Observation Haki - Future Sight, the brief foresight brought immense elevation to battle, and the enemy’s sneak attack was within Kaidou’s expectations, with the barrier allowing him to avoid danger.

He was also a Devil Fruit user, and being hit by seastone bullets would be troublesome, enjoying battle doesn’t mean enjoying being hit.

”I saw you, former Admiral of Navy Headquarters - Black Arm Zephyr, you couldn’t hold back, wanting to join this grand event?”

The newcomer was the current Navy Chief Instructor, Zephyr, although he had retired, he still retained his Admiral rank, the battle involving the entire Navy was meant for him to oversee from behind, but when Kaidou and Sengoku’s battle advanced into the town, he intervened.

This town carried too many of his memories, his family, his students, his life was deeply intertwined with this town, and witnessing the continued destruction of Marinfanto, he arrived on the frontline and assisted Sengoku in attacking Kaidou.

”When you infiltrate the enemy’s ranks alone, you must be prepared to be surrounded, pirates.”
