Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 977: Chapter 976: The Purpose of the Ice Sovereign, Buggy’s New Beginning

Frostbite is common, and he can inflict frostbite on enemies himself.

But he never imagined that one day, as the user of the Ice-Ice Fruit, he would suffer from frostbite himself.

Both wield ice, but his ice barely affects the opponent, only physical collisions can cause damage, while the opponent’s cold can freeze his body.

Admittedly, it’s partly because he was careless and didn’t defend against Yamato’s cold, but it also indicates that their abilities are no longer on the same level.

”Muji Hyoga!”

Before Kuzan could ponder the principle of being frostbitten himself, Yamato’s attacks followed one after another, and learning from previous lessons, Kuzan avoided contact with Yamato’s emitted cold by using Elementalization.

Logia-type ability users still have a huge advantage, using Observation Haki, they can disperse their bodies in advance to avoid enemy attacks, and as long as they’re not hit, even the strongest Armament Haki can’t cause harm.

Except for Red Hair’s unique ability of Observation Kill, it’s quite difficult for others to injure Logia-type ability users.

”You’re an Admiral! Aren’t you going to fight back? Look at your comrades, you surely have that kind of move that looks really strong, right!!”

Kuzan’s fighting style actually made Yamato anxious, his combat was too straightforward and plain, without any intimidation, unless there was a significant ruckus, she couldn’t deceive Kaidou.

”The Admiral wasn’t a bonus, was he?”

Looking at the magma splashing from Whitebeard’s side and scattered lasers, Yamato had strong doubts about Kuzan.

”Oh dear, I am indeed underestimated here. It seems that freezing has little effect on you.”

”Who knows? Who would educate you about their abilities!”

”Looks a bit slow-witted, but the battle instincts are quite sharp.”

”Thanks for the comp... who are you calling slow-witted, jerk! You better clarify your words!!”

There are few people who like to educate their enemies on their abilities, more often, one needs to judge the enemy’s abilities through battle, and each Navy Admiral has their own talent in combat.

From the point of being frostbitten himself, Kuzan made new judgments, but the rest had to be tried personally.

The incomprehensible words Yamato spoke gave Kuzan an illusion, maybe he could extract some information from her, but ultimately he failed.

”Whatever, fight ’til the end anyway, Daiguren Hyosetsu Jigoku.”

Kuzan’s body was covered in frost, the previous frostbite gradually disappeared under Life Return and the influence of his ability, while the cold he emitted formed sharp ice spears in the sky.

If freezing doesn’t work, then he can only try physical attacks.

”Good, this is the way it should be.”

Looking at the dense ice spears in the sky, Yamato was pleased, only such a commotion could fool Kaidou.

Lightning flashed in the corner of her eye, wings of thunder appeared behind Yamato.

Amidst the roar, the thunder charged towards the ice spears shot by Kuzan.

This wasn’t the optimal response to the attack, but it was the best way to notify Kaidou. She was communicating to Kaidou using her thunder powers, indicating she’s not holding back.

...

Member number one of the loafing group started entering real combat, other loafing members also made changes, but it wasn’t that smooth.

After Yamato approached Kuzan, Hancock and Jinbe temporarily had no opponents, noticing the vacancy, Queen seemed to have discovered newfound hope.

”Mwahahaha, next let me be your opponent, don’t interfere in Lady Yamato’s battle!”

As an amateur in performance arts, Queen didn’t even change his face while lying; observing the complex battleground environment, he truly felt like launching a Plague Bomb.

But logic told him, prominent figures attract attention, the number of people watching him were countless, causing a major commotion might prompt those two old men on the execution stand to take action.

Seeing Hancock and Jinbe loafing along with Yamato for half a day, he believed he could continue Yamato’s leisurely lifestyle.

”Great Perfume Femur!”

However, what he encountered was Hancock’s kick, looking at his mechanical arm starting to petrify, Queen’s expression became very complex.

”What a terrifying ability... but I am the Plague Disaster, part of the trio along with the Illusory Calamity and Flame Disaster, this level of skill isn’t enough!”

Queen’s true inner thoughts: [I am Olga’s colleague, you better hold back!]

The force feedback from his arm told Queen, if this kick hit elsewhere, it would likely petrify, this woman’s not holding back at all.

”I’m sorry, as a woman, I hate men, especially your type, surely you understand?”

Queen didn’t say anything else, only wiped his nosebleed, tacitly acknowledging Hancock’s words.

At the same time, Jinbe’s attack brushed past Queen’s body, destroying a cannon on the surrounding wall.

The loafing group members found their opponents again, Queen’s luck remained quite unfavorable, but amidst this battleground, a group of even stranger individuals existed.

...

Due to Yamato’s battle with Aokiji, the number of icebergs within the battle area kept increasing, forming an ice maze, and amidst this ice, false ice blocks existed.

Manufactured by Mr. 3 using the Wax-Wax Fruit as a disguise, below it, Buggy and a group of prisoners from Impel Down were devising plans.

”Captain Buggy! Please give your orders, whether to capture Whitebeard’s head or defeat Kaidou, we will follow you no matter what!”

”After all, you also were part of Roger’s crew, show us the spirit of the Pirate King’s crew!”

”No... I don’t really want to fight those two...”

Seeing the prisoners’ enthusiastic faces, Buggy looked troubled, quietly muttering, but in this enclosed space, his voice still reached the prisoners’ ears.

”What? Captain Buggy, you actually....”

”I, I didn’t mean to...”

”You actually want to fight them both at once!!”

”Your ears are too random! Can you only hear what you want to hear!!!!”

Since leaving Impel Down, these prisoners have treated Buggy as their deity, and their hearing became remarkably absurd, difficult for Mr. 3 nearby to accept.

The key is, Buggy always manages to climb up following their cues.

”Ahem, that’s a matter for later, now we must first do this... Buggy is great.... then like this... Buggy is a genius... do you understand?”

”Understood, Captain Buggy!”

”Alright! Get moving, everyone!”

A group of pirates stood up, attempting to push away the wax barrier created by Mr. 3, but it didn’t budge.

”What’s going on? Why can’t it be moved? Seems frozen solid.”

”No matter, let Mr. 3 melt it away.”

The pirates looked towards Mr. 3, yet in the next moment, an awkward situation occurred. Although flames burned atop Mr. 3’s head, the candle wax above showed no sign of melting.

”What’s going on?”

”Seems like something extremely cold outside, I can’t melt it anymore.....”

An embarrassed voice emitted from Mr. 3, silence enveloped the surroundings until a pirate voiced a question.

”Do any of you feel breathless? Breathing’s becoming really difficult.....”

Another bout of silence, then these pirates realized something, and began furiously pounding on the wax, aiming to escape before running out of oxygen.
