Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 985: Chapter 984: The Beginning of Annihilation

Strictly speaking, Shaina’s Red Chain is no longer the first-generation Red Chain, but a version 2.0.

Kaidou’s Arken was due to damage, leading it into the 7.0 era.

But Shaina’s Red Lock is different.

Originally, it was created to counter Pokemon Ability Users, specifically potential traitors, but so far, no Divine Favorer has betrayed them, which is a good thing, but it also means the Red Lock hasn’t had many chances to be used.

Plus, with Shaina’s personality, this chain is more of a last-resort trump card, its symbolic meaning far greater than its practical use.

This contrasts somewhat with the practical nature of the Arceus Sect, so in the weapon upgrades, Arceus also upgraded the Red Chain to target ordinary Fruit Ability Users.

Although Shaina’s proficiency in Armament Haki was not bad, when faced with some bizarre abilities, even mastery of Haki didn’t guarantee she could hit her opponent. With a targeted weapon, Shaina’s combat power has risen to another level.

The Red Chain won’t put ordinary ability users into a weakened state, but it can accurately capture their form, Pizarro being an example.

After he was thrown to the ground, Shaina’s Red Lock once again transformed into a chain spear, its sharp cross-shaped spearhead pointing at the members of the Blackbeard Pirates.

”Who’s planning to come first?”

Even though Kaidou was still on the side, there was no way Blackbeard could escape, but if it reached the point where Kaidou had to take action, Shaina and King’s face would be greatly diminished.

She wouldn’t interfere in King’s battle, nor would she let others disturb him.

”Don’t think about running, neither of them will let things slide. They both have the ability to fly, and with that lunatic Kaidou behind them, there’s no escape.

If you want to survive, capture that woman and then help the Captain take down the Flame Disaster!”

Laffitte glanced at these pirates nearby, already detecting some of their schemes.

This hastily assembled Blackbeard Pirates had no companionship whatsoever, especially those who just escaped from Impel Down.

If Blackbeard really fell, they would just seize the chance to escape while Blackbeard distracted the enemy, never fighting to hold the opponent.

With such people, speaking of loyalty was useless; only interests could bind them.

These people were now penniless, and the only thing that made them anxious was their own lives.

”Meow, that woman’s weapon is strange, feels like that freak Teach, can seal others’ abilities. Damn it, why are there so many weapons to counter ability users?”

”Murururu, who cares about that, since she doesn’t want us to leave, then let’s just capture her.

I originally hate the Hundred Beast Pirates, plus her clothes and weapon, I want them too...”

Devon’s eyes were filled with greedy intent.

She was good at using whips, but hadn’t found a suitable weapon in Impel Down, so she had picked up a long spear from someone.

The power of Shaina’s Red Lock enticed her inner greed.

Meanwhile, Devon also liked pretty clothes, and held a grudge against her prison uniform. Looking at Shaina in front of her, she just wanted to take everything from her.

Moreover, she was imprisoned because she clashed with Olga back then. Over the years, she hasn’t forgotten that hatred.

Shaina’s stance and Laffitte’s words made them understand that if they didn’t deal with this woman before them, nothing else could be done, so Devon moved first, followed by Shiryu.

Originally the Warden of Impel Down, Shiryu was cruel and bloodthirsty, often killing prisoners for fun without reason.

This violated Impel Down’s rules, and after Magellan’s repeated unsuccessful advice, Shiryu was locked up. When Impel Down was invaded, due to lack of combat power, Magellan released him.

Hoping to use his ability, Shiryu instead defected on the spot and brought the antidote to Blackbeard’s gang, otherwise, they would have been annihilated by Magellan.

Shiryu’s joining was more voluntary than other recruited pirates, and he chose to take action at this moment.

Although it was their first cooperation, the two worked together quite well, aiming left and right at the base of Shaina’s wings.

Facing the attacking pair, the flames behind Shaina changed color, turning blue like King’s.

Their training focus differed, but they came from the same clan; certain fundamental aspects remained the same, such as mastery over the abilities of the Lunarians Race. What King knew, Shaina knew too.

Blue Flame Mode combined with the Red Chain, besides Mega’s boost, had Shaina entering a full-power mode as well.

If King hadn’t sworn with his race’s honor, Shaina probably wouldn’t have started off in this state, but after King uttered those words, everything changed.

Clang! Clang!

Their attacks hit Shaina but had no effect. In Blue Flame Mode, the defensive power of the Lunarians was terrifying. With their abilities, breaking her defense was an extremely challenging task.

”Very well, then let’s start with you two.”

The Red Chain transformed into two gauntlets appearing beneath Shaina’s hands, tracing a beautiful arc through the air with blue flames, like the scythe of a God of Death, cutting toward the two before her.

...

Shaina removed everyone who got in the way, providing King and Blackbeard plenty of space, and King did not waste the fighting space Shaina created for him. With one powerful chop after another, he aimed to behead Blackbeard directly.

”Dark Water!”

Dark Power gathered in his palm, and Blackbeard barely caught King’s blade, absorbing the flames King released.

”Wait, wait, I think we can talk about this; there’s no need for a relentless fight!”

To survive, Blackbeard would do anything, even kneel down and call someone dad if necessary; as long as he survived, he would have a chance to regain ground.

He considered himself no match for King, and with Kaidou refusing to cooperate, he sought to use his words to persuade King to change targets, especially after seeing the same blue flames igniting on Shaina, he seemed to understand something.

”There aren’t two identical abilities in this world, and with you two being siblings... ah!”

King didn’t listen to Blackbeard’s nonsense, instead kicking him in the chest, sending him flying while quickly following up, raising his blade to slash at Blackbeard’s neck, which Blackbeard narrowly dodged by rolling.

”I’ve heard people say that in the past on the Red Earth Continent, there was a legendary Divine Race. With white hair and black wings, and flames that allowed them to survive any environment, they were a true Divine Race!”
