Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 996: Chapter 994: World Tremors (Part 2)

”Don’t worry, President! The ones we sent out are all core members!”

Morgans wasn’t the only one issuing similar directives; reporters located on the Shampodi Islands were all invigorated, holding their cameras up to capture the broadcast screen, fearing they’d miss any news.

Apart from the reporters, the Super Rookies at Shampodi similarly had their worldviews shattered.

Thanks to Kizaru’s leniency, although each Super Rookie was injured, not a single one died. They were in the corners, observing the situation of the war atop.

Hawkins fiddled with his cards, but his expression had lost its usual calm; sweat soaked his collar, and the cards in his hand scattered all over the ground.

”Captain Hawkins...”

”Can’t see... can’t see anything...”

”What did you say?”

”I can’t see the future, the threads of destiny are cut by someone, the goddess of fate is powerless, and the future there is like a deep vortex, mysterious, terrifying, and unfathomable.....”

Hawkins was still trying continuously, but no matter how hard he tried, the final result of the cards scattered across the ground. Looking at the cards on the floor, Hawkins seemed to firm his resolve and stood up to walk towards the distance.

”Let’s go.”

”Captain, where are you going?”

”To the New World.”

”Huh? Aren’t we going to watch the outcome of this battle?”

They previously persuaded Hawkins to leave the Shampodi Islands, but Hawkins insisted on staying to watch the firsthand news of the war; now that it was about to end, he didn’t want to watch anymore.

”No need, the existence that can distort fate is not something that can be opposed by any individual, the outcome of this war was already destined...”

Hawkins led his subordinates away from the Shampodi Islands, being the first to set foot on the road to the New World.

The other Super Rookies were different; most of them were curious about the outcome of the war, among them, Drake appeared particularly tense.

”How could the Navy have such a weapon... if even this weapon is useless.... what kind of monsters are those guys...”

Drake’s heart was like a stormy sea; originally, he had absolute confidence in the Navy, but the results of the war atop made it hard for him to accept, especially since the secrets of the Hundred Beasts now even increased by one.

To be precise, this was no longer a simple matter of secrets.

Simple secrets could be gradually uncovered, but now this secret seemed to hold a terrifying power that could destroy the world.

At this moment, Drake felt a heavy burden on his shoulders, as if his espionage mission was crucial for the Navy’s future.

On the rooftop of a house, there was another man like Morgans with trembling hands, Kid pressed his hand against his face, letting out an intriguing chuckle.

”Kid, what’s wrong?”

”I’m excited, Killer, look at these monsters in the New World; doesn’t their strength make you thrilled? Get stronger, then defeat them, and finally become the Pirate King, that’s the path we should take!”

Being instantly defeated by Rami didn’t teach Kid a lesson, watching the monstrous figures on the broadcast screen and the world-ending terrifying weapon, his inner thought remained to challenge them, with a stubbornness akin to Ulti.

...

On the battlefield of Marinfanto, the people present had a more direct experience of the recent attack, even though the attack was focused on individuals and the power was diminished, the shockwaves weren’t bearable for ordinary people.

Whether pirate or Navy, at this moment, a swathe of them was bowing down; even top-level forces like Sengoku, Kaidou, Whitebeard, and Akainu were watching the sky above with solemn expressions.

”Wahahahah, Sengoku, it seems I underestimated the foundation you Navy have, your weapon is truly terrifying, no wonder he always said that the eight-hundred-year foundation of the World Government should not be underestimated.

If this hit me, even I would not feel well.

However, this attack probably wasn’t under your command, right? If the recent attack had hit, even your Buddha form couldn’t withstand it.”

With a hint of taunting in Kaidou’s tone, it seemed he was ridiculing the aftermath of such a large-impact attack, but Sengoku remained silent, as the Navy Admiral, he also had some guesses about what that was, but the biggest problem now was that the attack had been thwarted.

Although this maneuver avoided casualties among innocent soldiers, it also meant that the threat level of the opponent had soared sharply.

”It’s about time to end, I thought I’d finish everything before he arrived, but it doesn’t matter now, this time the fight was quite exhilarating, heal your wounds, and I’ll come looking for you again.”

Blackbeard once, and then the attack from the sky once, they’ve disrupted Kaidou’s battle with Sengoku twice consecutively, which has affected Kaidou’s interest in the war, and now the moment has come, he should go find his target.

As for whether Whitebeard achieved his goal, it’s no longer within his considerations; if under such interference Whitebeard couldn’t rescue his people, then he’s wasted his Resurrection Grass.

Watching Kaidou depart, Sengoku didn’t continue to interfere with his actions; having Kaidou clash with Whitebeard was actually the most favorable situation for the Navy right now.

From Kaidou’s tone, it was clear he knew the source of this attack; if the Hundred Beasts mastered a weapon of such level or possessed power that strong, then continuing to fight them had become meaningless.

...

On the Origin, because of the protection from Arceus’s power, the people aboard weren’t affected, just their ears were a bit sore from the explosive sound.

”My premonition was indeed right, only Lord Arceus’s power could deal with such a thing...”

Queen was relieved at his recent decision; although noted down by Yamato, it was now worth it, as he couldn’t withstand that attack.

Just now Arceus had transferred most of the impact up into the sky, but even so, the aftermath had a huge effect on Marinfanto.

Under the influence of the shockwaves from Whitebeard’s tremors and Kaidou’s battle, Marinfanto had nearly become a jeopardized area.

Having experienced this new impact, it turned completely into ruins; the epicenter of the explosion fell into a depression, and through the deep chasm, one could see the sea beneath flowing.

With Queen’s research on weapons, he assessed the recent attack seemed to have dispersing abilities; if a portion of it had hit him directly....

Dismissing the horrifying scene from his mind, Queen joined the atmosphere team aboard, starting the praise work with the members of the Origin.

”Father... what was that thing...”

”Just a toy from ancient people, don’t worry, that thing can’t be used a second time in short order.”

Arceus wasn’t entirely sure what exactly that thing was, but he could confirm that it couldn’t be used temporarily; his recent attack wasn’t just so simple.

For some reason, he had a slight aversion to things falling from the sky, so while deflecting the attack, he also reflected most of the power back to high altitude, making the initiative go into a paralyzed state.

”Is this your power, Father? You surely could heavily beat Dad, couldn’t you? No, wait, there are still four Plates remaining, so... eh heh..”

Counting on her fingers, Yamato seemed to have discovered a New Continent, starting to envision a bright future.

”It’s three Plates, the message you brought back was very useful; there indeed is another Plate in the vortex, but I used it elsewhere.”

The attack initiated by the Five Elders was only one among many measures, yet Arceus still wasn’t in his full state; three Plates were unknown, the Icicle Plate was temporarily detached, counteracting the Five Elders’ weapon was no more than an ordinary strike from him.

”Put away your little thoughts, I promised back then not to interfere in matters between you and your father, you’ll have to handle Kaidou’s issues yourself.”

”Don’t be like that, Father, maybe you could bend the rules a bit?”
