The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Watching Fu Yu marinate the whole chicken, Liu Zhangpeng couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

The nearby helpers looked at Fu Yu with eyes full of admiration!

At this time, Wang Yulong suddenly asked, ”If it’s salt-baked chicken, what should we do next?”

Fu Yu wasn’t confident about other things, but when it came to cooking whole chickens, he was very familiar and adept.

Just this salt-baked chicken dish, he had cooked it over a hundred times in teaching practice classes.

Not to mention the specific steps, he could make this dish with his eyes closed.

”For salt-baked chicken, after marinating, you need to pour the remaining rice wine into the chicken’s cavity.”

”Wrap the San Huang chicken with kitchen paper, and use a clay pot as the cookware.”

”First, sprinkle coarse sea salt on the bottom of the clay pot, put in the wrapped chicken, then pour in more coarse sea salt to cover the chicken, and cook on low heat.”

Wang Yulong nodded, ”The marinating process for sea salt chicken and salt-baked chicken is almost the same, but we’ve made some changes to the cooking process.”

”For example, we changed the cookware to a cast iron pot, which conducts heat evenly and has moderate heat. When steaming, we swapped the kitchen paper for gauze paper and bamboo shoot paper.”

”And the timing is more precise now, following strict time rules based on the size of the whole chicken.”

After finishing, Wang Yulong asked, ”Once the marination is done, you can cook together. Can you follow through?”

[Ding! NPC Chef Wang Yulong’s stage task, first stage, whole chicken marinating, successfully completed. Reward: Task experience +10, Wang Yulong’s favorability +5]

An electronic notification rang in his ear.

Before Fu Yu could complain that the random reward this time was a bit too casual.

He heard the announcement of the second stage task.

[Ding! NPC Chef Wang Yulong’s stage task, second stage, cooking sea salt chicken, reward for task completion: Random]

Fu Yu’s eyes lit up, it was indeed a chain task, and he wondered what the reward would be this time?

”Yes, I can do it!”

At this moment, Wang Yulong’s phone suddenly rang.

Previously, when he contacted the buyer, the call wasn’t answered, but now the call was returned.

”Chef Wang!” The buyer hurriedly said, ”I went out to meet a friend unexpectedly, and didn’t hear the phone ring earlier.”

The buyer had come over from the main store, was an old hand who dealt frequently with Wang Yulong, had a good relationship, and understood Wang Yulong’s personality well.

Seeing it was already off work time, Wang Yulong suddenly called, probably because more ingredients needed to be bought for tomorrow, or there was an urgent situation in the store.

So after connecting the call, the buyer explained briefly and asked directly, ”Chef Wang, what’s the matter?”

Wang Yulong said, ”I’ve used up all the whole chickens reserved for today, buy one more when you shop tomorrow, we’ll need it in the kitchen.”

The buyer guessed that the store had suddenly received a lot of orders, and customers wanted to add dishes.

So he hurriedly agreed, ”Alright, should I follow today’s standard?”

Wang Yulong said, ”Yes, buy one, no, better make it two, just in case.”

The buyer noted it down, confirmed once more with Wang Yulong, and then hung up.

An hour later.

Wang Yulong carefully inspected the marination of three whole chickens.

Seeing they were almost ready, he nodded and said, ”Xiaofu, you cook with me!”

Upon hearing Wang Yulong’s words, Liu Zhangpeng suddenly turned his head!

He thought Wang Yulong was joking about having Fu Yu cook!

Unexpectedly... he was serious.

Cooking sea salt chicken?

This is not just making salt-baked chicken.

They had just learned about this dish today and hadn’t tried making it yet, to have him directly take charge seemed a bit too... something?

However, Liu Zhangpeng suddenly thought, Wang Yulong might be willing to teach, but Fu Yu might not dare to actually try it.

After all, with the customers arriving soon and only three chickens, if there were mistakes, it would be hard to explain...

”Alright, Chef Wang!”

Fu Yu readily agreed, directly interrupting Liu Zhangpeng’s thoughts.

Liu Zhangpeng was scared stiff.

WTF!

You’re actually doing it?

If Liu Zhangpeng was shocked.

Then the other helpers next to him were just bewildered.

Just at that moment, Zhang Conglin came to the kitchen with news.

”The customers called just now, they’re off the highway, should be here in about half an hour.”

The customers are arriving soon, letting Fu Yu take charge isn’t a joke, right?

Thinking of this, Liu Zhangpeng couldn’t help but advise, ”Master, the customers will be here soon, with the marination done, cooking won’t take much time, is it necessary for Chef Fu to step in?”

It wasn’t that Liu Zhangpeng looked down on Fu Yu or had any objections.

Ultimately, he was just being responsible for the store.

Liu Zhangpeng wasn’t intimidated, he had the confidence, so he didn’t hide his words from anyone.

But Wang Yulong just paused for a moment, looked at the time, and said to Liu Zhangpeng, ”I understand what you mean... The customers will be here soon, we need to hurry, the chicken you have is just right now, go ahead and cook it.”

Liu Zhangpeng reflexively agreed, turned around quickly to his station, and started preparing to cook.

Only when he started cooking did he realize, wait... something’s not right...

He had tried to dissuade just now, but Wang Yulong didn’t give a direct answer.

So is Fu Yu going to cook or not?

Wang Yulong turned to Fu Yu and said, ”Xiaofu, come here, I’ll teach you how to make sea salt chicken.”

”Okay!”

Fu Yu quickly stepped up, stood beside Wang Yulong, and began cooking by following his example.

Liu Zhangpeng was immediately dumbfounded.

They’re really letting Fu Yu take charge?

Can he really handle it?

Thinking back when he learned this dish, it took him over two months just to practice marinating.

Even if Fu Yu did a good job marinating, it doesn’t mean he can handle the rest!

This is... a bit too risky?

But there’s no choice, Wang Yulong is his master and direct superior.

The leader has instructed, he has to follow orders.

Liu Zhangpeng couldn’t dwell on it any longer, called a helper to hand over the gauze paper, and got busy with his tasks.

After working for a while, when the cast iron pot was on the stove, he finally had a chance to glance at Fu Yu’s situation.

As soon as he looked up, he heard Fu Yu say, ”Just right, Chef Wang, can you press the bamboo shoot paper for me, please.”

Liu Zhangpeng’s face changed instantly...

WTF... Who’s the chef, and who’s the apprentice!

He’s actually instructing Wang Yulong to assist?
