The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

The scheduled training time is 9:30 in the morning.

Yao Yihang arrived early at the conference room.

In addition to the recipe used as a reference, he also specially prepared a teaching handout using online materials.

Having prepared all the training tools in advance, Yao Yihang sat eagerly in the main seat, waiting for the training to begin.

New employees participating in the training arrived gradually together.

”I went home yesterday and specifically tried the cooking tips Chef Fu mentioned. I must say, they are really quite handy!”

”Really? Then I’ll mention it to my mom tonight; Chef Fu’s advice is really great, practical, and simple. You can remember it after hearing it once.”

”I didn’t really listen much, I was just busy looking at him. Chef Fu is really handsome! I used to think he looked spirited, but up close, he’s really perfect and quite appealing!”

”That’s true, I secretly took a couple of photos yesterday and sent them to my girlfriends; they were all thrilled!”

”How old is Chef Fu this year? I heard he’s just in his early twenties? Is that true?”

”Yes, it is. After graduating from culinary school, he came straight to work in the kitchen, just for a year now. So, how old do you think he is?”

”Hey, Chef Fu is single, right? I don’t think I’ve heard he has a girlfriend?”

”He’s busy with his career; he doesn’t have time for romance. Culinary school students can be promoted right after entering the kitchen. Think about it...”

”Chef Fu is already a full-time employee and is now the head chef. In a few years, he could be promoted to master chef! He’s handsome, young, earns well, and is such a nice person. Good things shouldn’t go to outsiders!”

...

Several young women chatted quietly as they walked.

To them, the so-called training in the store seemed just like going through the motions, with no real benefit.

When customers dine in, their role is mostly to recommend dishes, serve tea, and be at the ready.

As for the taste of the dishes, there are photos on the menu, making it all clear.

Moreover, Qianlima is an old diner; the dish names are straightforward, named directly after the ingredients and cooking methods. It’s not some grand hotel with names that give no clue about the actual dish.

There are limited things a customer might ask about.

However, after attending the training yesterday, several newcomers were suddenly excited.

They didn’t expect the training to be quite interesting, and the content taught was also very practical.

After all, no matter who goes home, they still have to cook and eat for themselves. Knowing some cooking tips and basics is quite useful.

Especially since the training teacher is handsome and the content of the lesson is simple and understandable, everyone would be more eager to attend the class.

However, as the group walked into the conference room and saw the middle-aged man sitting inside, their bright smiles faded a bit.

Why is it Chef Yao?

Despite the diminutive nickname, Yao Yihang is actually in his thirties.

Men at this age, if not well maintained, are unlikely to escape the middle-age spread, unless exceptionally gifted.

Particularly those working in the kitchen, indulged in good food and drink daily, all end up plump and oily.

A clean and pristine chef’s uniform couldn’t hide the protruding beer belly, combined with a pretentious coy smile on his face.

Really... he looks very greasy.

”Why is it Chef Yao instead? Where’s Chef Fu?”

The newcomers were all bewildered.

However, whoever is responsible for training is arranged by the management; they are just here to learn and aren’t in a position to voice opinions.

Each of them found a seat and sat down.

Seeing that everyone had arrived, Yao Yihang slightly tilted his head, maintaining a standard 45-degree angle as he looked at the young women present, his lips curling up as he put on a smile, which he considered suave and handsome: ”Hello everyone, today I’ll be leading the training.”

”We don’t often get the chance to interact, so maybe you’re not very familiar with me. Let me introduce myself first.”

”My name is Yao Yihang, and I’ve been a chef for about 8 years. I used to be the head chef at Huipu Restaurant and later switched to Qianlima. So when it comes to cooking, I have quite a bit of experience, and there’s a lot I can teach everyone.”

”Maybe you aren’t familiar with me yet and may think I seem a bit aloof based on my appearance. But over time, you’ll find that I’m actually very easygoing and quite fun and humorous. That’s likely why the management chose me as the main speaker for this training.”

”After all, I’m around your age, so we share more common topics, making communication easier, right?”

At this point, Yao Yihang chuckled to himself as if he were humorous.

”The restaurant’s specialty dishes are many, and it’s important for the service staff to learn and understand the flavors, cooking methods, and ingredient selection of the dishes here. It’s quite necessary.”

”Everyone has work to do later, so I won’t take up too much of your time. Let’s start now, I’ll first talk about...”

The materials Yao Yihang used for training were all compiled and summarized based on his year-long work at Qianlima.

Having worked for many years, he is quite familiar with some of the restaurant matters.

So the content he taught was quite rich.

However... due to limited education, he had a lot to say but often struggled to find the right way to express it during explanations.

His speaking was halting, and he had trouble conveying his ideas, making it a bit strenuous for those listening.

The training, which wasn’t supposed to be long, ended up feeling especially lengthy.

Everyone was quite cooperative.

But after just having heard Fu Yu’s presentation yesterday, the contrast was quite stark.

The same words, when said by Fu Yu, were particularly captivating and meaningful.

But when it came to Yao Yihang, it was dry and unoriginal, making it particularly tedious to listen to.

However, considering that Yao Yihang was a skilled chef who was hired into the kitchen, and also got promoted in less than a year, everyone still thought he must be quite competent.

So they patiently listened attentively.

In great detail, Yao Yihang introduced the notes he had previously made.

After covering the key points, he breathed a sigh of relief and asked everyone: ”That’s the main content of today’s training. Do you have any other questions?”

The people present exchanged looks.

Questions?

What’s there to ask?

Finally, when it was almost over, let’s just wrap this up quickly!

At this moment, someone suddenly spoke up: ”Chef Yao, a few days ago while I was working, a customer asked me if eating crabs and tomatoes together is harmful to health. Besides, they said that combining some seafood with vegetables or fruits can cause gout or diarrhea. How should I handle such questions?”

As soon as the words were spoken, others began to discuss it energetically.
