The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

The crispy yellow dish is complex to make.

On one hand, you need to cut the egg pancake into regular small rhombuses, and on the other, you need to fry and then coat them.

Coating requires sugar frying.

Sugar frying is a very troublesome task.

You not only need to control the ratio of water, oil, and sugar but also precisely control the heat.

Especially in timing, which tests the chef’s skills.

This is originally a tedious and troublesome process.

However, in Fu Yu’s eyes, it’s not the case.

Because whether it’s controlling the heat or timing, it’s as easy as pie for him.

This makes things much easier!

Fu Yu started frying the sugar.

Due to his skilled technique, he chose water to fry the sugar.

Add a small amount of oil to the pot, then add sugar, followed by a little water.

Use high heat to melt the sugar, and the spoon should keep stirring in one direction. When the water is evaporated and the sugar gradually changes color, it’s ready.

At this time, adjust to low heat and note when small bubbles the size of millet appear in the syrup, then it’s done.

This process is relatively complicated, with delicate requirements on temperature, yet the fried sugar color lacks brightness but matches the tender yellow eggs perfectly, appearing crystalline and translucent.

Moreover, when choosing sugar, always use soft white sugar as its filigree effect is much better than white granulated sugar.

There’s a little trick when boiling the sugar, be sure to add a pinch of salt to make the flavor purer without overwhelming sweetness.

Fu Yu quickly finished the sugar color.

This left Liu Yuqing stunned, incredulous.

Because Fu Yu’s actions were too skillful.

As the bubbles in the syrup were almost bursting, Fu Yu quickly added the eggs, flipping and frying with a flick of the wrist.

His speed was extremely fast.

The coating process is not like other operations, a slight delay can cause the syrup to burn, and also affect the filigree effect.

At this moment, flipping the pan also requires skill.

While operating, Fu Yu habitually and casually instructed Zhang Jinyu, ”When coating, be sure to flip the pan; only this way can the syrup stick evenly. But also note, after seven or eight flips, take it off the heat, then flip another seven or eight times, that’s when the syrup coats most evenly.”

Zhang Jinyu listened carefully, memorizing it well, and deftly handed over the prepared plate.

Fu Yu quickly transferred the glazed eggs to the plate.

The freshly made crispy yellow dish can be eaten directly, but it’s not yet as crispy; waiting for two minutes yields the best taste, with very long sugar threads.

After dishing up the crispy yellow dish, Fu Yu separately prepared clean water in a small bowl and placed it on the tray with the plate.

Wang Meng, who had been waiting nearby without leaving, didn’t wait for the server and directly picked up the tray, repeatedly thanking Fu Yu, ”Thank you, Chef Fu, if it weren’t for your help today, I really don’t know what I would have done!”

Wang Meng had really panicked before.

The feeling of having no one to turn to is extremely unpleasant.

Especially under panic and confusion, being criticized by Yao Yihang further made her realize how much mindless mistakes she made.

Now, having received Fu Yu’s help not only made her feel unexpectedly joyful but also deeply moved.

Her words were sincere, genuinely acknowledging the favor Fu Yu did for her.

If Fu Yu hadn’t been willing to help, who knows what would have happened in the end.

No matter what, it wasn’t something she, as a newcomer server, could handle.

Thinking she finally kept her job and avoided trouble from happening.

Wang Meng looked at Fu Yu with genuine gratitude and respect.

At this moment, Liu Yuqing was already dumbfounded.

While she wasn’t very skilled in cooking, her family has been in culinary for generations, listening and observing daily, she’s quite familiar with it.

Liu Yuqing didn’t possess extraordinary culinary skills, but she had an exceptional eye for it.

Her sister is a well-known chef in the industry, but Liu Yuqing felt that Fu Yu was much better at coating technique than her sister.

Especially in the control of heat, the rhythm during flipping the pan, and even the precision in timing, everything was done impeccably.

This is talent!

In cooking, talent is also necessary for support!

First, one needs good physical qualities; otherwise, long hours at the stove exposed to smoke and heat, it’s unbearable.

Next, one must have a keen sense of smell, enjoy research, have imagination and creativity so that based on existing ingredients, continuous experimenting, changing cooking methods, and adding different seasonings; you can alter the taste of food and create more popular dishes.

Besides, one should have strong comprehension, endurance, and perseverance.

And Fu Yu clearly possessed all these, evident from this period of interaction and understanding.

Having completed what Zhao Meng entrusted.

Fu Yu, sneaking a break, holding a portion of crispy yellow dish set aside earlier, grabbed a piece himself, tossed it into his mouth without minding the heat, hissing and joyfully savoring it.

Watching Fu Yu eat so uninhibitedly, Liu Yuqing suddenly froze.

Is this unruly eater the same person as the suave and handsome Fu Yu she saw at the cooking station earlier?

With such table manners, not an ounce of refinement or elegance...

While idly daydreaming, Fu Yu offered her the bowl of crispy yellow dish.

”Try it, it’s sweet, something young girls love.”

Liu Yuqing didn’t decline, reached out to take it, carefully observing the crispy yellow dish in the bowl, the rhombus-shaped egg blocks were fried very fluffy, evenly coated with glistening syrup.

”Here, chopsticks, remember to dip in water, otherwise the sugar threads are too long, mind they stick on clothes.”

Liu Yuqing couldn’t help but take another look at Fu Yu.

Very considerate.

She did as told, picking a piece of crispy yellow dish, really pulled out long sugar threads, dipped it in the water bowl, and took a small bite, savoring it carefully.

It was soft, flaky, fragrant, sweet, and indeed very delicious.

Fu Yu raised an eyebrow and asked, ”How is it? Tasty?”

Seeing his boastful expression, Liu Yuqing rolled her eyes.

Oh, great!

Turns out he’s showing off his culinary skills!

She couldn’t tolerate it!

Liu Yuqing took the bowl and left.

Fu Yu watched her back and shook his head with a smile.

...

While all this was happening, by the time Liu Yuqing left the kitchen, Wang Meng had already taken the prepared dish to private room 209.

Linlin, who was guarding the door of the private room, had already gotten word that Fu Yu helped make the crispy yellow dish, never having seen the finished product, her heart was in suspense.

Now, seeing Wang Meng bringing in the completed dish, she let out a genuine sigh of relief.

Li Linlin couldn’t help but take a closer look at the dish on the tray.

At first glance, it looked a bit like candied sweet potatoes, but it was clearly not sweet potatoes, not sure what ingredient was used, but it seemed very appetizing.

Not daring to waste any time, she took the tray and personally delivered it to the private room.
