The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Busy all afternoon, as the evening approached, Fu Yu suddenly remembered he promised to treat Liu Yuqing to dinner.

Just as Liu Yuqing came to deliver the takeaway menu.

Fu Yu took the initiative to ask, ”How about I treat you to lunch tomorrow? What would you like to eat?”

Liu Yuqing curved her lips into a smile, ”Why not treat me tonight?”

Fu Yu explained, ”I have things to do tonight, no time.”

Liu Yuqing feigned ignorance, ”What kind of things? A date?”

Liu Yuqing had beautiful eyes, like those described in books, sparkling and full of expression.

When she looked directly at someone like that, it always gave the other person the illusion that she might have a crush on them.

Right now, she playfully winked at Fu Yu.

Fu Yu was slightly taken aback, thinking Liu Yuqing was flirting with him, and his heart couldn’t help but flutter.

However, he quickly calmed down and instinctively prepared to return the favor, first checking the affection level.

[Years of service: 1 month and 27 days as a dish deliverer. Status: Proactive, positive, and optimistic. Affection level: 35] [Attribute details]

Fu Yu saw this and couldn’t help but brighten his eyes.

Wow!

Over thirty, could it be she has a thing for me?

So he returned a glance and seriously reminded, ”Don’t choose anything too expensive for dinner, alright? Keep it under a hundred.”

Liu Yuqing nearly jumped up in anger, ”What can you even eat for a hundred bucks?!”

Fu Yu earnestly said, ”Plenty! Like rice noodles, spicy hot pot, tofu pudding set, Xinjiang fried rice noodles are also great...”

Liu Yuqing looked at Fu Yu in disbelief, and slowly said in a low voice, ”Can you be any more stingy!”

Fu Yu was rendered speechless, and after a moment of silence, asked, ”So are you going to eat or not?”

Liu Yuqing was so mad that her chest seemed to grow a size, angrily saying, ”Eat!”

...

After work, as usual, Fu Yu took a taxi to Shangshi Private Kitchen.

Yesterday, there was a dish of special tenderloin in the private kitchen, and it tasted particularly good.

Fu Yu ate a whole plate by himself and even had an extra bowl of rice.

He now had breakfast and lunch at Qianlima, and dinner at Shangshi Private Kitchen.

The meal quality was getting better and better, and he wasn’t sure if it was an illusion, but in the last few days, he clearly felt his waistband getting tighter.

He wondered what the menu over there had changed to today.

Every meal felt like drawing a blind box.

He was really kind of looking forward to it.

Halfway there, Fu Yu’s phone suddenly rang.

It was a call from Feng Xiaoxiao.

They hadn’t contacted each other for a while.

Fu Yu quickly answered the call, ”Hello, Sister Feng!”

Feng Xiaoxiao said cheerfully, ”Xiaofu, you’re off work at this time, right? Do you have time tonight? Let’s have dinner together and talk about joining the association.”

Fu Yu perked up at the mention of joining the association.

He was now tasked with needing to join the Food Association, and time was running out; he originally thought to find some time to contact Feng Xiaoxiao to see if he could get any details.

Unexpectedly, the good news just arrived!

Fu Yu quickly agreed, ”Sure! Sister Feng, what time should we meet?”

Feng Xiaoxiao thought for a moment and said, ”How about we meet at that Chaoshan beef hot pot restaurant on Civil Aviation Road? They make it quite authentically. I’ll head over now, should take about half an hour, no rush, you come over when you finish up.”

Feng Xiaoxiao was very considerate, deliberately avoiding seafood stir-fried restaurants when choosing the location.

Fu Yu responded, ”Alright!”

Having made arrangements with Feng Xiaoxiao, Fu Yu then called Liu Yunong to request leave.

It just so happened that Liu Yunong also had something going on, and upon hearing his request for leave, promptly approved it.

Fu Yu had the taxi turn around halfway and hurried to Civil Aviation Road.

When he arrived at the restaurant, he found that Feng Xiaoxiao had already arrived ahead of time.

Fu Yu followed the server to the private room.

As he entered the room, he saw Feng Xiaoxiao talking to someone.

And this mature-looking man left Fu Yu dumbfounded!

Feng Xiaoxiao warmly greeted, ”Xiaofu! Come on over.”

Fu Yu smiled in response and turned to look at the man seated next to Feng Xiaoxiao.

”Chef Liu?!”

Liu Yunpeng smiled, pulled out the chair beside him, and said enthusiastically, ”We were just waiting for you to order!”

Fu Yu wasn’t particularly familiar with Liu Yunpeng.

The two had participated in a cooking competition together before and knew that the other was the head chef at Family Joy Restaurant.

They had exchanged contact details back then, but never actually reached out.

Fu Yu glanced at Feng Xiaoxiao naturally resting her hand on Liu Yunpeng’s shoulder, and then it dawned on him.

So those two are a couple?

Feng Xiaoxiao looked young and beautiful, but she was already 30 years old.

While Liu Yunpeng looked mature, he was actually only 36 years old.

Their age difference wasn’t that significant.

Moreover, Feng Xiaoxiao was a food exploration blogger specializing in food.

Liu Yunpeng, being a chef with a good reputation and excellent skills in the circle, was recommended to participate in the chef competition for a reason.

Their professions were related, giving them common topics, making them a great match.

Liu Yunpeng patted the chair beside him, and Fu Yu sat down next to him.

Feng Xiaoxiao handed over the menu and asked, ”Xiaofu, what kind of hot pot do you like?”

Having never been to this hot pot restaurant before, and seeing the long list of soup bases, Fu Yu said truthfully, ”I’m not familiar with this place, you guys order, I’m not picky.”

Liu Yunpeng then reached out and took the menu back, placing it in front of Feng Xiaoxiao.

Feng Xiaoxiao didn’t look at the menu but instead turned to ask, ”Old Liu, should we order the clear broth? Their clear broth is the most authentic!”

Liu Yunpeng had no objections, ”Sure.”

Then Feng Xiaoxiao began ticking off the items on the menu with a pen.

”Tender meat, one plate?”

”Okay.”

”Beef tripes and fish cakes, one serving?”

”Sure.”

”Two servings of beef neck? You love it, don’t you?”

”Mm.”

...

Just listening as they ordered made Fu Yu’s heartache! But not the kind that comes from a heart condition!

It was a pain that came from deep within his soul.

Caught off guard, he was fed dog food.

Watching how lovingly they interacted, then looking down at himself, what did he have besides his two hands?

Just coming out for a meal, he was hit with a spiritual blow.

Why him?

Fu Yu didn’t know how long it would take for his soul’s pain to heal, but after thinking it over, he decided he must eat two more plates of beef later!

...

After Feng Xiaoxiao finished ordering, she carefully asked Fu Yu what he’d like to drink and then handed the order to the server.

She picked up the teapot provided by the restaurant and started rinsing the tableware.

After rinsing her own, she casually helped Liu Yunpeng rinse his tableware too.

Who would have thought that the famous female streamer Feng Xiaoxiao, known for her fashionable outfits and exquisite makeup, would be so domestic in private.
