The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Liu Yunong patiently guided Fu Yu.

During a red light, she turned to glance at Fu Yu and saw him looking at her intently, with a joyful expression.

Liu Yunong subtly smiled, feeling very satisfied with Fu Yu’s love for learning and his attentive attitude.

The car parked on the side street, and Liu Yunong said to Fu Yu, ”It will be dawn soon. If you’re too tired, you don’t have to come in the evening.”

Fu Yu shook his head, ”No problem, I’ve just learned the method to cook Gourd Chicken, I definitely have to practice it well!”

Liu Yunong smiled, then drove away.

Even if it wasn’t to impress Liu Yunong, Fu Yu was determined to go to Shangshi Private Kitchen to practice.

What a great opportunity!

Where else could he find so many hens to practice with at will?

Moreover, he planned to start the whole chicken cooking course as soon as he got back.

Although he was confident in his disassembly skills and cooking abilities, after experiencing a few sessions in the teaching practice classroom,

he understood clearly that what he thought was good and what the system considered good were two completely different things.

Only by achieving full marks in the teaching practice classroom and successfully passing could the dishes he cooked be considered truly perfect.

Besides, he was also curious to know where his cooked Gourd Chicken still needed improvement.

Fu Yu was fully focused on learning the whole chicken cooking, not realizing that without noticing, he was no longer as averse to the monotonous repetitive practice operations in the teaching practice classroom, slowly transforming from a poor student mentality to being diligent and progressive.

The dormitory corridor was as quiet as usual.

Fu Yu checked the time, it was already four in the morning.

He quietly moved to the room door, took out his key, and at the same time started the teaching practice classroom.

[Ding! The ”Whole Chicken Cooking” teaching practice classroom is now open. Please use the simulation space to learn. Upon completion, you will receive the reward: Advanced Whole Chicken Cooking Skill.]

Fu Yu pushed the door open. This time, the simulated learning environment turned into Shangshi Private Kitchen.

Fu Yu, familiar with the route, walked to the workstation he had used before.

Just as he stood there, the entire content of whole chicken cooking automatically appeared in his mind.

[Whole Chicken Cooking: Chicken has a delicious flavor and is nutritious. Cooking it whole can retain the nutrients more comprehensively.]

[Methods of Whole Chicken Cooking: Roasted Whole Chicken, Lotus Leaf Oil Rice Whole Chicken, Mushroom Whole Chicken Soup, Vegetable and Fruit Stewed Whole Chicken...]

[First Lesson: Roasted Whole Chicken.]

...

After successfully coming out of the teaching practice classroom, Fu Yu simply washed up and lay down to rest.

The next evening after work, he, as usual, rushed to Shangshi Private Kitchen early.

By this time, everyone in the back kitchen had already started their busy work.

All resting at the same time in the early morning, compared to Fu Yu, who was still energetic and spirited, others were clearly a bit fatigued.

Liu Zhangpeng greeted Fu Yu warmly, ”Chef Fu, here so early?”

Fu Yu smiled, ”I came directly by cab after work.”

Everyone here knew about his job at Qianlima.

Even if there were previously any thoughts or comments, after getting along these days, they all died down.

Anyone could see that the boss was clearly planning to groom Fu Yu as a future successor.

When making Gourd Chicken in the evening, Liu Yunong didn’t demonstrate or point out; she let Fu Yu exert himself.

Liu Zhangpeng was beside him, both focusing on bone splitting.

After last night’s practice in the teaching practice classroom, Fu Yu’s speed in bone splitting was noticeably faster today.

Moreover, the split chicken bones were clean, with neither skin nor meat left on them.

While the chicken was steaming and cooking, Fu Yu, with nothing to do, turned to watch Liu Zhangpeng split bones.

Just one look, and he did see something off.

If it hadn’t been for Liu Zhangpeng’s heartfelt words last night, Fu Yu might not have pointed it out even if he noticed today.

But now, with less concern, Fu Yu just went over.

”What’s up? Did I do something wrong?”

Liu Zhangpeng was very smart, capable of standing out and successfully apprenticing with Wang Yulong. He wasn’t originally a fool.

Seeing Fu Yu approaching intentionally, he quickly asked proactively.

Fu Yu nodded and quietly said, ”Chef Liu, when you are splitting the drumstick bone, instead of shaving the sharp, thin bone next to the main bone together with it, you should shave it with the meat and then remove it.”

At first, Liu Zhangpeng didn’t get it and asked, ”But, in that case, what about the chicken meat...”

Fu Yu interrupted, hinting, ”As long as the skin and meat are wrapped well during binding, it will be fine.”

Liu Zhangpeng was very meticulous in his work.

When removing the drumstick bone, to ensure the integrity of the chicken meat, he would deliberately remove the sharp, thin bone together with the main bone.

But the thin bone was too delicate, trying to remove it complete with the main bone was time-consuming.

Removing it with meat was different, the meat could be easily sliced off, and the cut chicken meat wouldn’t affect the appearance when tied with hemp cord lastly.

After thinking about it for a while, Liu Zhangpeng realized that he was a bit overly focused on a minor issue before.

While cooking Gourd Chicken, it was essential to maintain the integrity of the skin and meat.

But rules were dead, while people were alive.

A slight adaptation would save a lot of time, making the workload much easier.

And as Fu Yu said, as long as you pay attention to your technique during the binding, this problem could be easily solved.

Both time-saving and effort-saving.

Once he figured it out, Liu Zhangpeng couldn’t help but express his gratitude, ”Chef Fu, you’re truly clever! No wonder your speed in splitting is so fast, I have so many problems with my technique, which I wasn’t aware of myself.”

Fu Yu smiled and sincerely said, ”The problem with details is not really a fault; it’s merely different operating habits of individuals.”

But Liu Zhangpeng didn’t see it that way, considering that Fu Yu’s casual advice saved him a lot of time and effort in bone splitting.

”Chef Fu, could you help me see again, and point out where I might still be lacking?”

Liu Zhangpeng was always good at seizing opportunities, seeing that Fu Yu was willing to guide him, he quickly tried to make the most out of it.

Fu Yu didn’t refuse either.

During the time the whole chicken was being steamed, he pointed out two subtle mistakes in bone splitting to Liu Zhangpeng.

When the whole chicken was completely split,

Liu Zhangpeng’s impression of Fu Yu improved even more.

He found that Fu Yu would openly and thoroughly explain any questions he raised!

Most importantly, he realized that some operational flaws he had, even his master Wang Yulong hadn’t noticed, but Fu Yu could insightfully point out and teach him more ingenious methods.

This was quite astonishing upon deeper thought!
