The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

The more the man thought about it, the angrier he became, feeling like he was choking on his frustration, but he couldn’t tell others that his wife had cheated on him.

With a cold snort, he decided not to care anymore and followed his wife in making a scene here!

Embarrassing or not, he thought, his face had already been rubbed into the ground repeatedly.

Seeing this, the woman was also furious, yelling at the cashier at the front desk: ”Doesn’t every restaurant keep the order slips for a few days? Only you can’t retrieve them here!”

The cashier hastily explained, ”We do keep all the order slips, but every night after closing, they’re handed over to our finance department for consolidation. It just happens that today the accountant is off, and only the cashier is working, so we can only retrieve them tomorrow.”

The argument quickly caught the attention of those around.

It was the peak dining hour, and there were quite a few customers entering the restaurant. Seeing the commotion at the front desk, many people passing by paid attention to what was happening.

The woman also noticed this and said irritably, ”But I just want the menu from the table they ate at last night!”

Fu Yu, at this moment, understood the whole situation and quickly stepped forward to help mediate: ”I’m the chef here, so I’m very familiar with the dishes. Although we might not be able to pull up last night’s order slip, if you could roughly describe the style and taste of the dishes, I might be able to help you find the corresponding dishes.”

The woman was taken aback and turned to look at Fu Yu.

Seeing that he was indeed wearing a chef’s uniform, she nodded and said, ”Alright, as long as you can put together a spread identical to last night!”

Fu Yu glanced at the growing number of spectators around and suggested, ”Then please follow me to the ordering area.”

Seeing this, the man hurriedly pulled the woman along to the ordering area.

Liu Yuqing was a bit confused, looking at this couple with a gossipy expression.

Goodness!

It was obviously a matter of someone cheating on someone else!

At the ordering area, Fu Yu cleverly prevented the couple from continuing their quarrel.

He still had order slips to work on and really didn’t have time to spend here.

He straightforwardly looked at the man and asked, ”Since you were present last night when you were dining, could you please recall what dishes you ate, so I can make a reference for ordering.”

In Fu Yu’s opinion, this man seemed quite foolish.

Obviously, the woman wasn’t there last night, so he could have just listed a few random dishes from the menu to appease her.

Why go through so much trouble, trying to retrieve an order slip and replicate the menu?

However, the man seemed to consider Fu Yu’s amicable demeanor, and realizing that resolving this issue quickly would save further embarrassment in front of others, he eagerly cooperated: ”Last night, we ordered the restaurant’s special dishes, like salt and pepper mantis shrimp, sweet and sour fish, spicy crayfish...”

The man obediently started listing the dishes.

He managed to name six dishes but then got stuck, unable to remember any more.

Fu Yu was about to call the waiter to bring over the menu to help jog the man’s memory when the woman coldly remarked, ”Don’t you have photos on your social media? The grid arrangements of nine photos, capturing every dish on the table, just afraid others don’t know what you ate!”

Speaking of this, the woman got angry again.

She glared at the man, ”Oh, so you’re out there every day, eating and drinking with other women, while I’m at home taking care of the kids and serving your mom? Why is that?”

The man couldn’t help but defend himself, ”I told you, it was for socializing, and besides, I know this place has great food, so I even specially packed your favorite dishes to bring home...”

The woman exploded upon hearing this, ”How dare you say that! You guys are here eating freshly cooked, delicious dishes, and I’m stuck eating your leftovers?”

Fu Yu saw the two starting to argue again and quickly interjected, ”If there are photos, I might be able to arrange the same spread for you.”

The woman turned to glare at the man, ”Did you hear that? Get your phone!”

The man, with a can’t-be-bothered attitude, handed his phone over to the woman to prevent further conflict.

The woman took the phone, unlocked it adeptly, and pulled up the social media post she just saw last night.

She quickly found the photos posted by that account.

Fu Yu took the phone and instinctively glanced at the account’s profile picture—it was a selfie of a woman who seemed pretty classy.

However, Fu Yu didn’t zoom in, so he couldn’t see clearly what she looked like.

As the woman said, it was a series of dining photos.

Nine photos in total, including group shots of the diners and close-ups of the featured dishes.

Among them, two photos were well-angled and captured the entire table of dishes.

And the caption of this social media post read:

[They say a woman weighing 90 pounds is the most beautiful, so I’m going to eat until I’m 180 pounds, that way I’ll be doubly beautiful~~]

This was the kind of provocative line...

No wonder the woman got mad after seeing the post.

While flipping through the dishes, Fu Yu also took a look at the two group photos.

There were only three people dining, two men and one woman.

In the photo, the woman sat in the middle, and judging by their intimate poses, they seemed to have drunk a bit and had quite a good relationship.

With the way the photo looked, anyone seeing it wouldn’t easily believe it was just a business social event.

With the photos as a guide, Fu Yu easily helped put together a menu.

Eight dishes and a soup, all specialties of the restaurant.

He listed the dishes and asked for their opinion: ”If there’s no problem, shall I place the order?”

The man sighed, feeling a bit of heartache over the money.

Last night, the dinner was organized by a friend, so since he didn’t pay, he wasn’t bothered about it then.

Hesitating a bit, he still couldn’t help but say, ”Just order a couple of dishes to taste, won’t that be fine? It’s a big table of food, and just the two of us can’t finish it.”

The woman glared, ”I don’t care; order it all! Spending our own money on myself guarantees my gain. Otherwise, even if I scrimp and save, would you just spend it on other women?”

Hearing this, the man also got angry, ”I already told you, it was a social gathering, I didn’t spend money last night! And me spending on other women, even if I wanted to, do I even have the money to do so? Do I?”

He spoke with confidence.

The woman kept a stern face, ”Oh, so you’re right! Who started this mess? I just happened to meet a colleague after work, and we walked for a bit, and you accused me of cheating! We didn’t even touch each other, but look at you, hanging over her like that, did you two even kiss? Shameless!”

”You do some lousy job, making such little money; have I ever complained about you? I have to take care of children and elders every day at home; have I ever uttered a complaint?”

”I’m not asking for your understanding, but you can’t break my heart, can you? Obviously, you’re the one fooling around with other women, and then you come back and twist it to accuse me of cheating!”

”If I really didn’t want to make things work, would I have stuck it out until today?”

After venting their grievances, both of them calmed down.
