The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Liu Yunong didn’t expect that just staying home for a day to take care of her sick sister would result in something happening at the restaurant.

When Wang Yulong hastily called, Liu Yunong was exhausted from staying up all night and was taking a nap on the bed.

Upon waking up, she found a dozen missed calls and unread message notifications on her phone.

Liu Yuqing, feeling sorry that she wasn’t getting enough rest, had deliberately put her phone on silent.

Just as Liu Yunong adjusted her phone settings, she received a frantic call from Wang Yulong, who was rushing to the restaurant: ”Boss, you’re in the city, right? Hurry to the restaurant, something happened!”

”What happened?”

”Shen the Third, the regular from the flagship store, he went to the restaurant!”

Hearing this, Liu Yunong jumped out of bed, startling Liu Yuqing, who was leaning over nearby.

”Shen the Third? He came to Bei’an?”

At this time, the private car Wang Yulong was taking had already passed the toll booth and was heading into the city.

Wang Yulong actually already knew the situation at the restaurant by now and was aware that Fu Yu had prepared the tender braised duck and sent it to the table.

But in situations like this, he had to inform the boss.

After all, he still didn’t know how the customer reacted after dining.

What if they were dissatisfied and caused a commotion, then what?

Shen the Third, is he an easy person to deal with?

After speaking with Liu Yunong on the phone, Wang Yulong hurried back to the restaurant, seeing Liu Zhangpeng and Fu Yu partnered in the kitchen, handling orders.

One of them was flipping the wok while the other was plating, neither of them was idle!

It was already nearly nine o’clock; there were noticeably fewer orders coming to the front hall, and the kitchen wasn’t very busy.

So, Fu Yu and Liu Zhangpeng, in harmony, started cooking the remaining dishes one by one according to the order sequence, quickly completing the orders.

Fu Yu casually placed the plated dish onto the serving counter, and when he looked up, he saw Wang Yulong rushing in.

Today was a day off, and Wang Yulong was dressed very casually, with a shoulder bag that he hadn’t even taken off, obviously having come directly to the restaurant without going home.

”How is it? Any updates from Shen the Third?”

Wang Yulong was panting heavily, having run all the way inside from the car; even the greetings from waiters in the front hall were ignored.

Liu Zhangpeng quickly responded: ”Zhang Conglin just came over and said that Shen the Third is dining normally, there should be no issues.”

A weight lifted slightly off Wang Yulong’s chest.

Nonetheless, seeing is believing, so he turned to go to the front hall to personally check on Shen the Third’s dining experience.

Just as Wang Yulong left, Liu Yunong also arrived.

Compared to Wang Yulong’s easy casual attire, Liu Yunong was clearly more rushed, with her hair simply tied back and wearing plain sportswear.

Liu Yunong should have taken a quick shower, put on some makeup, and changed into a fitting high-end suit, but she didn’t have time for that, making her way hurriedly to the restaurant.

Fu Yu and Liu Zhangpeng were still busy cooking.

Liu Yunong called Liu Zhangpeng over, anxiously asking, ”What happened here? Why is Fu Yu the one cooking as the head chef?”

Liu Zhangpeng replied, ”Fu Yu is enthusiastic, Shen the Third ordered the tender braised duck, and I don’t know how to make that dish. It was an urgent situation, Fu Yu happened to know how and was willing to help, so we let him make the dish and serve it!”

Liu Yunong stopped speaking, standing in the kitchen, fuming to herself.

No one could be blamed for this.

Wang Yulong was on a regular day off.

Liu Yuqing, trying to make sure she got her rest, had put her phone on silent out of concern.

Noticing Liu Yunong’s expression, Liu Zhangpeng quickly added, ”Zhang Conglin just mentioned that Shen the Third is dining normally and hasn’t called for any waitstaff.”

Liu Yunong nodded, her expression grave: ”Is Chef Wang here?”

Liu Zhangpeng gauged Liu Yunong’s mood and swallowed nervously: ”Master went to the front hall to check the situation and should be back soon.”

Liu Yunong acknowledged and then turned to the front hall, calling over Zhang Conglin to carefully inquire about the situation in the private room.

”Brother Zhang, what’s the situation with the customer?”

Zhang Conglin explained, ”When the dishes were served, I especially followed along. Shen the Third is dining quite normally and hasn’t called for a waiter, so I guess he’s quite satisfied with the food.”

Hearing the words ”quite satisfied”, Liu Yunong’s expression became a bit complex!

Shen the Third, he’s a top-notch gourmet!

There isn’t a dish at the restaurant he hasn’t tasted, often treating the flagship store as his personal cafeteria, dropping by once in a while for a meal.

For such a person, whether the dish is cooked by the old chefs or not, he can tell the difference in one bite; switching chefs will definitely be noticed!

Thinking about this, Liu Yunong quickly asked, ”Which private room is Shen the Third in? Did you see Chef Wang?”

Just at that moment, Wang Yulong, who had gone to check the situation, returned with a waiter bringing food.

Seeing Liu Yunong, Wang Yulong hurried over: ”Boss, I checked; Shen the Third is dining normally and is almost finished.”

Liu Yunong sighed with relief: ”That’s good.”

She glanced at Wang Yulong’s attire, explaining: ”My sister got sick; I looked after her all night yesterday, and I couldn’t help but fall asleep just now.”

Wang Yulong nodded understandingly: ”Is Xiaoqing feeling better now? I only found out that Shen the Third came to the restaurant after receiving a call from Zhang Peng. He ordered a dish that Zhang Peng couldn’t make, so I thought maybe you could come over; I was still on the highway at the time and couldn’t make it back.”

Liu Yunong asked, ”Are you sure there’s no issue with Shen the Third?”

Wang Yulong, having just checked the private room, nodded: ”I’m sure! The dishes are nearly finished, and when I went over, Shen the Third was looking at his phone, probably about to leave.”

At these words, Liu Yunong finally breathed a sigh of relief!

Wang Yulong said slowly: ”Knowing Shen the Third’s temperament, if he didn’t like the food, he would’ve made a fuss long ago!”

Indeed!

Shen the Third isn’t a person to suffer in silence.

Previously at the flagship store, sometimes when the old chef was on leave, even with the same ingredients and cooking methods, so much so that even the staff couldn’t tell the difference, Shen the Third could always taste the change in the chef.

That’s why upon hearing that Shen the Third visited the franchise while Liu Yunong and Wang Yulong were absent, everyone was in a panic.

Liu Yunong nodded: ”Exactly, seems like it was a false alarm.”

At this point, a waiter was bringing a customer to the front hall to pay.

Seeing the customer walking behind, Wang Yulong suddenly froze for a moment: ”He’s done eating...”

Liu Yunong also turned to look, seeing Shen the Third following the waiter, his expression calm.

If they hadn’t run into each other, it would’ve been fine, but since they did, and they recognized each other.

Liu Yunong hurriedly stepped forward, smiling: ”Mr. Shen!”

Seeing Liu Yunong, Shen the Third was visibly surprised: ”Boss Liu?”
