The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

The new order that hasn’t been completed yet is posted on the kitchen wall.

Zhao Meng can’t manage the ladle, so he has to handle the new addition of ten spicy seafood medleys by himself.

Sticking it out to finish isn’t really a big deal.

It’s just that when sleeping at night, his wrist would hurt intensely.

But after a night’s sleep, it would more or less recover by the next day.

Now he has a schedule for elective courses, and he can choose physical training classes.

As long as he finds an opportunity to complete the course, his stamina, strength, and state can all be maintained at peak condition.

Wouldn’t that mean he could manage it for as long as he wants!

With such convenient conditions at hand, not taking advantage of them would be silly.

Zhao Meng couldn’t bear the wrist pain and was anxious to hurry back home to put on a plaster first.

In his current state, he surely couldn’t handle heavy work tonight.

However, even though he came to help out, Zhao Meng was still quite concerned about the business at the shop, so he specifically went over to tell Gu Yunwu about his situation.

Gu Yunwu listened and frowned deeply.

Zhao Meng’s old problem is actually one he shares, so he knows how painful it can be when it flares up.

But understanding is one thing, urgency is another.

”Old Zhao, in your condition, don’t stay for overtime, but it’d be best for Xiaofu to stick around, I’m really swamped over here!”

In such a situation, even if Gu Yunwu didn’t say it, Fu Yu certainly couldn’t leave.

Zhao Meng nodded in agreement, reminded Fu Yu a few more times, and then hurriedly left.

As soon as Zhao Meng left, Fu Yu also found a reason to head to the storage room.

He had brought the keys with him today when he went to the music restaurant, and now they came in handy.

In the storage room, Fu Yu adjusted the door lock, gave it a push, and locked it.

Subsequently, he opened the elective course schedule, found the physical training class, and chose to start learning.

The key slid into the keyhole, turned, and unlocked.

When he reached out and pushed open the door to the storage room, he indeed found himself once again in the teaching and practice classroom arranged by the system for him.

A simulated gym.

[Ding! The ”physical training” teaching and practice classroom is now open. Please conduct your study through the simulated space. Upon successful completion, rewards include maintaining your stamina, strength, and state at peak levels.]

Peak levels!

Apart from not being able to fly, it should have the same effect as a second-generation Superman, right?

Fu Yu increasingly feels that this choice was absolutely brilliant.

Man!

Good stamina makes for better work, happier life...

Fu Yu walked in, and as soon as he stood firm, all the content regarding physical training automatically surfaced in his mind.

[Physical Training Course: Enhance your stamina, strength, and state through strength training, speed training, aerobic and anaerobic endurance training, flexibility, and coordination training, etc.]

[Physical Training includes: Strength Training (Weight Lifting, Resistance Training...)]

[First Class: Weight Training]

A clear human silhouette appeared on the gym equipment.

Fu Yu calmly watched the featureless silhouette operate the gym equipment with standard movements.

Even as the silhouette moved, electronic prompts occasionally sounded in his ears, providing simple and easy-to-understand tips on exercise cautions and gym equipment usage.

It really felt like being in a class, with a teacher giving guidance on the side.

Fu Yu carefully noted down all the operational movements, and after watching the entire process, the electronic prompt sounded again in his ears.

[Ding! Please begin the exercise]

Watching others do it always seems simple and easy.

When it came time to actually do it, Fu Yu was dumbfounded.

He mimicked the silhouette’s movements to begin exercising.

After just one set of movements wasn’t completed, the electronic prompt sounded in his ear.

[Left arm position incorrect, need to adjust downward by 25 degrees...]

Fu Yu: ”...”

Ah, this...

25 degrees, how on earth do you estimate that?

The next second, an astonishing scene unfolded.

The silhouette suddenly appeared beside the exercise equipment again, then guided Fu Yu hand-in-hand on how to properly use the gym equipment.

It even corrected him promptly whenever Fu Yu made mistakes.

Once a full set of movements was completed.

[Ding! First set of weight training completed, please repeat once more.]

Fu Yu complied and did it again.

[Ding! Second set of weight training completed, please repeat once more.]

...

Until he finally met the system’s requirements, and the electronic prompt sounded in his ear once more:

[Second Class: Resistance Training]

Fu Yu instantly felt like crying but had no tears.

Are you kidding me!

Does it have to be this torturous!

Isn’t exercise supposed to be gradual?

How come with him, it’s turning into pulling up seedlings to help them grow!!

Before he could voice his complaints, the silhouette already dragged him to the next piece of gym equipment.

Help!!!

While Fu Yu was in despair with no way of crying out and struggling on the frontlines of fitness.

Yao Yihang first noticed the absence of Fu Yu at Zhao Meng’s kitchen station.

”Huh! Boss, where did Chef Fu go?”

Gu Yunwu, busy and overwhelmed, turned to look at the empty spot and frowned immediately: ”Where’s he gone?”

Yao Yihang guessed: ”Went to the restroom, maybe?”

Gu Yunwu snorted coldly: ”Lazy donkey on the mill always pees more!”

Yao Yihang couldn’t help but chuckle.

You have to admit, it was quite fitting for the situation.

No sooner had they finished speaking, when the person they were talking about returned.

Fu Yu walked over with his head held high and chest puffed out, his steps steady.

If you overlooked that deep sense of life’s absurdity in his eyes, it seemed to an outsider that he had undergone a transformation, sweeping away the previous fatigue, looking more spirited overall.

As Fu Yu returned to the kitchen counter, Zhang Jiaxin brought over a basin of cleaned crabs: ”Chef Fu, these are all taken care of.”

Fu Yu nodded and continued cooking.

While skillfully working the ladle, he cursed the system’s earlier versions of ancestors in his heart.

If he could predict that physical training would require such devilishly real training to pass before choosing the course, he wouldn’t have picked this course even if he were dead!

Though the system provided a virtual class, during training, all his sensations were real.

Exhausting is an understatement!

All those tears were of regret!

Hindsight is worth a fortune!

Easily flipping what seemed like a weightless wok, Fu Yu was crying inside like a dog!

The taste of being controlled and forced to train by that silhouette was something he never wanted to experience again in his life!

Forget that ”bitter experiences make a man!”

Fu Yu had a profound sense that the system had tricked him once again!

Damned system!

What a wicked smoke machine!!

Thinking indignantly, Fu Yu’s hand turned the wok faster!

The ingredients in the pot rhythmically arched in the air, then neatly fell back into place.

Zhang Jiaxin, who happened to be delivering yellow clams, was secretly amazed.

The way he flipped that wok was too beautiful!

Though they all worked the whole day and came to put in extra hours,

Gu Yunwu and Yao Yihang were visibly exhausted.

Yet Chef Fu remained energetic and full of vitality!

Such stamina!

None could compare!

Zhang Jiaxin sincerely marveled: Chef Fu is amazing!
