The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Gu Yunwu wanted to cry but had no tears. Even though his heart was cursing to the heavens, he had to reluctantly agree, ”Of course! We’re colleagues, so naturally, we should help each other at work. In such a significant matter, we must have the right attitude and cooperate seriously.”

”Don’t worry. If you really get too busy over there, we will definitely step in to help with the orders. No matter what, we can’t let the store’s business suffer!”

At this moment, Dong Jun Tian curiously asked, ”Old Zhao, who did this data investigation for you this time?”

Even though Zhao Meng is rough around the edges, he’s meticulous when it comes to cooking. Conducting research and investigations is clearly not something he would think of.

Zhao Meng was prepared for this and gave the credit without hesitation to his beloved apprentice: ”It was Fu Yu who did it.”

Upon hearing this, everyone started whispering to each other.

”It’s him again! This kid’s really something!”

”Indeed, he’s extraordinary. Haven’t you heard? He was the one who cooked for Room 401 when Chef Yao injured his hand!”

”What? That happened?”

”Wow, that’s really impressive!”

Both Dong Jun Tian and Gu Yunwu were taken aback.

Was it really Fu Yu who did that?

Recalling Fu Yu’s young and handsome face, Dong Jun Tian quietly sighed, acknowledging that Wang Jingrui indeed had foresight.

From the very first meeting, Wang Jingrui had sung praises about Fu Yu, directly saying he’s a talent.

Dong Jun Tian had always been half skeptical about it.

Even though Fu Yu had consistently performed excellently before, he merely thought Fu Yu was a bit clever, at best with some talent in cooking.

After all, Fu Yu had only been working in Qianlima’s kitchen for less than a year since graduating from school.

This chef profession is unlike others; to improve skills, you need more practice and accumulation, with no other shortcuts.

Unexpectedly, Fu Yu wasn’t just a bit talented; he’s a downright genius!

Seems like I’ll have to pay more attention to this guy in the future. Employees with potential like this must be nurtured well!

Meanwhile, Gu Yunwu had his own plan, turning to Dong Jun Tian, he proposed, ”Boss, with Mid-Autumn Festival coming up, I think our promotional activities this time should involve collaborating with Chef Zhao’s side. After all, employees like Xiao Yao and Xiaozhang on our side are quite outstanding, working diligently usually, but they’ve been a bit hit by the order-hopping issue this time.”

”I was thinking since Chef Zhao’s promotional effects have been really good, why not let them also learn and hopefully pick up a few extra orders in the next couple of days?”

Dong Jun Tian nodded, ”Sure, you can also see how Old Zhao’s side does promotions and improve yourselves!”

Zhao Meng saw Gu Yunwu smiling in satisfaction and became instantly wary!

This sly fox clearly has his sights on their Fu Yu again!

Facing Zhao Meng’s guarded expression, Gu Yunwu smiled slightly.

That’s right! I’m interested in your Fu Yu!

Zhao Meng, make sure you keep an eye on him, don’t let me steal him away!

At the entrance of Qianlima Restaurant.

The cashier had finally secured a customer.

Fu Yu was assisting Sun Qingning in introducing the dishes when suddenly he heard an electronic notification sound:

[Ding! NPC boss Dong Jun Tian’s goodwill +10]

[Ding! NPC head chef Gu Yunwu’s goodwill +10]

[Ding! NPC supervisor Gao Wenjing’s goodwill +5]

[Ding! NPC accountant Xin Li’s goodwill +5]

...

Fu Yu was a bit puzzled.

What’s going on?

What are the leaders in the store discussing again?

This sudden burst of goodwill left Fu Yu bewildered and deeply puzzled.

What additional features does this goodwill have?

Continuously gaining goodwill, when will I actually see the benefits?

Just then, Fu Yu’s phone suddenly rang.

He looked at the caller ID; it was Yao Shi. He quickly got up and moved to a quieter spot.

Fu Yu answered the call, ”Hello, Chef Yao!”

Yao Shi’s voice quickly came through, sounding a bit urgent, ”Xiaofu, head over to the red house on the side street in ten minutes. Today, you’ll be joining me at the music restaurant.”

”There’s a table there for lunch, and we need your help. A customer ordered the restaurant’s specialty roast duck, requesting it to be carved on-site. I was supposed to do it, but my hand is injured, and it’s a bit risky for me. Can you lend a hand?”

After listening, Fu Yu promptly replied, ”Okay, Chef Yao.”

Yao Shi reminded, ”If anyone asks, just say you took a house call. The commission share from the restaurant, I’ll make sure you get compensated.”

This way, Fu Yu doesn’t lose his day off or his pay.

It’s just changing the location of his work.

Fu Yu felt a warmth at heart, thinking that Yao Shi, as expected, handles matters skillfully!

He hung up the phone and hurriedly gave Sun Qingning a quick briefing, then went to change and left.

Meanwhile, Zhao Meng, having received a cue from Yao Shi, would explain with a laugh when asked that Fu Yu got another house call order.

The entire kitchen staff was immediately filled with envy and jealousy.

Fu Yu didn’t head to the kitchen, nor did he see Zhao Meng. He rushed to the red house and saw Yao Shi parked his car behind the bus stop sign nearby.

From this angle, the car was completely hidden from the Qianlima Restaurant’s view.

Fu Yu got into the car, and Yao Shi helplessly said, ”My hand couldn’t have picked a worse time to get injured!”

Just as Fu Yu was about to respond, he noticed something above Yao Shi’s head: [?]

Whatever he was about to say, he swallowed it back.

Fu Yu tentatively asked, ”Chef Yao, was this a last-minute order? It seems quite sudden!”

While driving, Yao Shi explained, ”Indeed, this banquet was ordered all of a sudden. The customer is an old friend of mine, and we’re on good terms. He decided last minute to host the banquet, guests were already invited, and I had to figure out a way to accommodate.”

”He told them he was inviting them to our restaurant’s signature roast duck, not knowing I injured my hand. He even bragged about our relationship, promising a live demonstration.”

Yao Shi sighed, ”If my hand wasn’t hurt, it wouldn’t have been a problem. But now it’s tricky. Fu Yu, I thought of having you try it out. You’ve made roast duck before. Once we get there, I’ll go over the details with you. With your knife skills, it should be no problem at all.”

At the same time, Fu Yu heard the electronic notification:

[Ding! NPC boss Yao Shi’s task: Successfully complete an on-site roasted duck carving and receive the customer’s praise. Reward upon task completion: Choose freely one of Yao Shi’s personal skills to learn]

Fu Yu: ”...”

Isn’t it supposed to be acquired directly?

Why do I have to learn it now?

Isn’t the system usually super overpowered?

Why the sudden change!

Fu Yu unwillingly chose to accept the task.

”Don’t worry, Chef Yao, I’ll do my best to accomplish it.”
