The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Sitting in the taxi on the way back, Fu Yu finally had the chance to check out the new reward he received.

He first glanced at his personal attributes:

[Level: lv7: 482/1000]

Level +1, now he’s lv7.

He then checked each of the other rewards one by one.

Oil-resistant chef’s uniform.

As the name suggests, it’s similar to an oil-repellent strainer.

[Oil-resistant chef’s uniform: Premium polyester-cotton fabric, non-pilling, non-shrinking, non-deforming, moisture-absorbent, sweat-wicking, wrinkle-resistant, not easily soiled, and no oil stain sticks!]

Fu Yu raised an eyebrow, so it won’t get dirty, meaning no need to wash it?

Pretty good.

Qianlima’s chef uniforms are not like those at the music restaurant, where there are special staff responsible for cleaning them.

Over here, they always have to do things themselves for better or worse.

The work in the kitchen is both dirty and tiring, and the clothes become greasy and filthy within half a day. Washing them requires detergent and separate rinsing, which is very cumbersome.

If there were no outsiders around, having such a treasure would be unbeatable!

But the problem now is, the kitchen is full of people!

Everyone stays in the kitchen getting smoked by the fumes all day, and while others get filthy, he’s spotless...

Fu Yu suddenly felt a bit hard to breathe, urgently needing to go out and breathe some smog!

As for the elective course timetable, Fu Yu carefully looked at the options and felt a bit dizzy from the variety.

He always knew cooking was a technical skill, but he never imagined there were so many related things to learn.

He scanned it from beginning to end.

Fu Yu’s gaze stopped on one of the elective courses.

[Physical Training Course: Improve your physical strength, power, and condition through strength training, speed training, aerobic and anaerobic endurance training, flexibility, and coordination training.]

Fu Yu was tempted.

This elective course is great!

It’s perfect for him!

The work in the kitchen is genuinely very tiring.

If the shop is doing well, the chief chef can barely step away from the cooking station all day, endlessly busy with one dish after another.

At the end of the day, it’s normal to feel back pain and exhaustion.

Fu Yu hasn’t been in the industry for long and can still rely on his youth and good physical condition.

Even if he’s worn out during the day, a good night’s sleep can almost fully recharge him by morning.

Old chefs like Zhao Meng have long developed occupational diseases from the hard work.

Varicose veins, frozen shoulder, tenosynovitis, any of these when they strike, are quite a nuisance.

But if he can enhance his physical capabilities, this problem might be alleviated, right?

Especially... Fu Yu thought of something... if he could improve his physical strength, power, and condition, does that mean he might have potential in the future?

At the very least, could he level up just by catching some opportunity... just maybe...

And then wake up energized for work.

Fu Yu suddenly thought this physical training elective was super cool!

Besides this, there was also a practice class key for elective courses.

Fu Yu decided that as soon as he got back, he’d start the elective course.

For the first time in his life, he was genuinely looking forward to attending a class!

If his parents knew, they’d probably be moved to tears!

The taxi drove for almost an hour before reaching Qianlima Side Street.

Zhao Meng was on the early shift today, so Fu Yu didn’t go to the kitchen directly, instead heading to Zhao Meng’s room.

As he entered, he saw Zhao Meng leisurely lounging on the bed with his legs up, swiping through short videos.

Seeing Fu Yu return, Zhao Meng sat up, concernedly asking, ”How did it go? Was everything smooth?”

With excitement, Fu Yu shared his experience at the music restaurant.

After listening, Zhao Meng was quite pleased, praising, ”You rascal, you’re amazing! You must have impressed Chef Zhang and the others this time, right?”

Fu Yu felt even more inclined to boast, animatedly showing off to Zhao Meng.

Zhao Meng listened with a happy smile, an affectionate expression he wasn’t even aware of.

In reality, Zhao Meng had noticed long ago that Fu Yu had become increasingly juvenile in front of him.

This kid usually appeared composed and reliable in front of others, but only in front of Zhao Meng would he express his emotions without reservation.

While Fu Yu was enjoying his story, he inadvertently caught a glance at Zhao Meng’s phone screen.

An old man was sitting still in the camera... fishing!

No wonder the video was playing with no sound.

Fu Yu looked at Zhao Meng with a difficult-to-describe expression, ”Chef Zhao, why are you interested in fishing now?”

Browsing short videos, not watching beautiful women, delicious food, or social news.

What’s so interesting about fishing?

And the host is an old man.

Zhao Meng chuckled and said, ”It’s funny! I accidentally watched a sea catch video and found it quite interesting. Who knew it would keep recommending related videos to me? Not long ago, I stumbled upon this old man teaching fishing. I have to say, he’s quite the expert!”

As soon as fishing was mentioned, Zhao Meng became enthusiastic and spoke with quite an air of authority.

Listening to Zhao Meng talk about buying fishing rods and bait, Fu Yu couldn’t help but think, Dai Li is truly blessed.

Zhao Meng is such a great guy!

He doesn’t gamble, doesn’t mess around, is clean, does housework, and makes money.

Previously, his only hobby was smoking. Even drinking was an occasional thing, with no addiction.

Now he’s hooked on fishing.

Where can you find such a good man?

Married, and no need to worry about him having a wandering heart or fooling around with other women.

While Fu Yu’s thoughts were flying all over the place, Zhao Meng’s phone suddenly rang.

Zhao Meng picked it up, ”Old Zhao, get to the kitchen quickly! We just got an order, the customer ordered a spicy seafood medley. They initially ordered one, finished it, then ordered ten more, and they said they might add more depending on the situation... I still have four orders in my hands that aren’t done; I can’t handle it all.”

Zhao Meng sat up straight, ”Ten?”

On the other side, Gu Yunwu’s voice was a bit noisy, ”Yes, ten. They want us to serve quickly. I heard from Wang Yuxuan that these guys are eating broadcasters with two competitive eaters doing a contest. We must ensure continuous dish supply. They’ve already started eating, and it’s too late to refuse now.”

When customers hold a feast and add dishes mid-way, it follows the rules, no matter how much they add, it aligns with the customer’s wishes.

There’s no restaurant that refuses an order because the customer ordered too much.

Zhao Meng immediately said, ”Alright! We’re on our way now!”

Zhao Meng turned to Fu Yu and said, ”Alright, we’ve got work! Overtime tonight!”

Fu Yu hadn’t heard clearly earlier, stood up while asking, ”Ten of what?”

Zhao Meng pulled up his pants, ”Spicy seafood medley, need ten portions!”

Fu Yu clicked his tongue, ”That much?”

Zhao Meng sighed, ”Two competitive eaters, choosing our place for their contest!”
