The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Yao Shi injured his hand, and since there were no special orders in the afternoon, he changed clothes and left just after three o’clock.

Fu Yu felt a bit regretful about it.

After all, once Yao Shi left, he couldn’t get his dedicated guidance anymore.

However, this feeling only lasted a short time. Soon it was the evening rush, and orders came one after another, drawing all of Fu Yu’s attention back to cooking.

When you’re busy, time flies quickly.

Today, Fu Yu was on the night shift, so after clocking out, he went directly to his room.

With experience from last time, this time Fu Yu took the key and directly went to open the door.

Indeed, the next moment, the scene before his eyes changed again, and he found himself once more in the back kitchen.

[Ding! ”Knife Technique” teaching practice class has been activated. Please learn through the simulation space. After successful learning, you will receive a reward: Personal Skill ”Knife Technique” Advanced]

Fu Yu familiarly walked to his position.

As soon as he stood still, the entire content about ”Knife Technique” automatically appeared in his mind.

[Knife technique refers to the operational skills of processing various ingredients into specific shapes according to cooking and dining needs, thus becoming the basic forms required for assembling dishes.]

[There are mainly twelve types of knife methods in knife technique: Slicing, Slicing, Paring, Chopping, Scoring, Splitting, Deboning, Patting, Gouging, Spinning, Scraping, Carving]

[First Lesson: Slicing.]

A freshly cleaned, large red radish appeared on the kitchen counter.

Without any human control, all the kitchen tools began cooking autonomously as if they had a life of their own.

This time, Fu Yu calmly and carefully watched the entire process, remembering all the knife angles and details of operation methods.

After the demonstration ended, an electronic prompt sounded in Fu Yu’s ear.

[Ding! Please start operating]

Fu Yu hurriedly imitated the operation method he had just seen and started using the knife.

With his left hand steadying the radish and his right hand holding the knife, he made straight cuts one after another, with pressure spread evenly across the blade and consistent force from front to back.

When he reached the fifth cut and prepared to change the knife technique, the electronic prompt sounded again in his ear:

[Straight Cutting technique has been mastered. Please start practicing Skip Cutting.]

Fu Yu: ”...”

Ah, this...

Why does it feel like the system’s teaching level has obviously improved?

It used to just silently watch him operate, but now it’s beginning to provide detailed guidance.

Could it be that the system can also upgrade itself?

Without thinking too much, Fu Yu hurriedly started practicing Skip Cutting according to the system’s instructions.

After learning and demonstrating various cutting techniques like Push Cutting, Pull Cutting, Saw Cutting, Mincing Cutting, and Roll Cutting one by one, the system began scoring.

[Ding! Operation completed. ’Slicing’ skills score: 85. Areas needing improvement are...]

A starting score of 85!

That’s quite impressive!

Fu Yu felt a bit smug, but then remembered that he had just upgraded his knife skills to advanced level during the day.

With advanced knife skills, this knife technique lesson was bound to be a good start, right?

Realizing this, Fu Yu actually felt pressured.

Based on his understanding of the system’s teaching methods.

The higher the score, the harder it is to upgrade.

Starting at such a high point, wouldn’t the subsequent tests get increasingly difficult?

With this slight sense of unease, Fu Yu continued to immerse himself in diligent practice!

Once, twice, three times...

[85.1 points]...[85.5 points]...[90 points]...[90.1 points]...

What’s the heck!

This system is just shameless!

It even brings out decimal points!

Being challenged this way actually stirred up Fu Yu’s competitive spirit.

Aren’t you trying to stump me?

I won’t let you have your way!

He began practicing the cutting techniques required by the system over and over again.

Completely forgetting the time and everything around him, he focused wholeheartedly on this learning process.

Once he smoothly completed all the knife technique practices in [First Lesson: Slicing] and successfully scored 100 points.

Fu Yu did not hesitate to immediately start the teaching of [Second Lesson: Recipe Slicing].

After successfully completing all the knife technique practices in [Second Lesson: Recipe Slicing] and scoring 100 points.

Fu Yu then realized that the thin fish slices he had cut during the day were simply too rough.

With such thick slices, he dared to claim they were as thin as a cicada’s wings?

He glanced at the stack of fish slices on his chopping board, which were as thin as paper, and realized how comparing them changed everything.

Once again amazed by the practical training effect of the system.

Fu Yu wholly dedicated himself to learning.

...

Once he completed all the teaching lessons, Fu Yu returned to his room again.

This time, he sat quietly for a long time, repeatedly recalling all the mistakes he had made during the classroom operations and the experience he had gradually discovered after countless knife movements.

He organized and summed them up into his practice insights.

After all, a good summary can help one master the learned content more firmly and serve as a crucial highlight in summarizing the knowledge acquired.

Fu Yu firmly believed in this.

The next morning was still a promotional activity.

However, when Fu Yu and others went out to ”set up stalls,” the boss, Dong Jun Tian, suddenly gathered several managers in the store, including the head and sous chefs from the back kitchen, for a morning meeting.

As the Mid-Autumn Festival was about to arrive on schedule, Dong Jun Tian announced some related precautions and work guidance requirements before the festival.

After saying various things for a long time, just before announcing the meeting’s end, Gu Yunwu and Zhao Meng stood up simultaneously.

Both almost simultaneously said, ”I...”

Only to be interrupted by each other’s voices.

The scene was extremely awkward!

Zhao Meng glanced at Gu Yunwu, frowned slightly, but took the initiative to say, ”Chef Gu, you go first!”

Gu Yunwu also glanced at Zhao Meng, nodded, and did not show the slightest intention of politeness.

Clearing his throat, Gu Yunwu said in a deep voice, ”I have something that I would like everyone’s help to discuss fairly.”

Everyone perked up at once.

Oh!

There’s going to be a show!

Since the back kitchen began taking orders separately, Zhao Meng and Gu Yunwu’s sides clearly started competing in secret, often leading to minor frictions.

And these matters became the talk of the staff over tea and meals.

Seeing another incident brewing today, everyone was eager, ready to hear the latest scoop.

Dong Jun Tian was displeased in his heart, but it didn’t show on his face, and he merely looked at Gu Yunwu indifferently.

Yao Shi glanced at Dong Jun Tian and smiled inwardly, then asked with concern, ”Lao Gu, what’s going on?”

Gu Yunwu said angrily, ”These past two days, we’ve been following store orders for promotional activities at the entrance, giving away small gifts. Although we agreed with the customers to place orders, and even settled on the dishes, the orders were ultimately snatched by Chef Zhao’s side.”

”If it were only new customers, I wouldn’t mind, but among them were my exclusive customers. Even if you’re going to snatch orders, you can’t do it like this! I think Chef Zhao should give me a reasonable explanation for this!”

Everyone, upon hearing this, thought, how come they are competing for customers again?
