The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Was the Direction Wrong?

At this moment, Jiang An continued with his actions.

He lifted the willow leaf blade with both hands, his gaze focusing on the deceased’s right upper arm.

At the level of subcutaneous hemorrhage of the chest, Jiang An held the willow leaf blade vertically, with the tip perpendicular to the right upper arm, forming a 90-degree angle.

Then, with a slight force from his wrist, the sharp tip of the knife glided over the pale skin.

Quickly!

A neat incision was exposed before his eyes.

Similarly!

In the area level with the chest subcutaneous hemorrhage on the right upper arm, a small amount of muscle bleeding could still be seen.

This was the most direct evidence of the body being subjected to external force.

Jiang An nodded, all within his expectations and conjectures.

Then, Jiang An walked around the stainless steel dissection table to the deceased’s left side.

In the same manner.

He lifted the willow leaf blade and horizontally cut open the skin of the deceased’s left upper arm.

After exposing the muscle beneath the skin, the muscle bleeding in the same location was still visible.

If Wu You was still somewhat unsure upon seeing the bleeding in the chest and back earlier,

now, upon seeing the bleeding in the deceased’s arms, he instantly understood.

After Jiang An’s preliminary analysis, Li Jian and Zhang Yean witnessing this scene roughly understood what was happening.

Jiang An put down the willow leaf blade, looked at the bleeding parts of the deceased, and said quietly, ”This woman must have been controlled by external force before she died.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Captain Li Jian asked, ”Is there any sign of assault on this woman’s lower body?”

Jiang An replied, ”The deceased’s lower half pants and belt are intact, not undone.”

”The underwear is in its normal wearing position, with no signs of being torn or damaged.”

”However, there is a small amount of urine stain in the crotch area of the underwear.”

”There are no scratches or controls on the deceased’s thighs or perineal area.”

”So, based on current evidence, there is no indication of forced assault by others.”

”However, whether there are male components inside the deceased still requires extracting relevant samples for further examination.”

Captain Li Jian nodded lightly after listening.

Upon seeing the control injuries on the deceased’s upper body earlier, he recalled a forced assault case from years ago.

This deceased’s injuries were very similar to the victim’s in that case, which involved two suspects.

Zhang Yean asked, ”If it wasn’t for assault, what was the purpose of forcibly controlling then?”

This was a question not only in Zhang Yean’s mind but also in the minds of Wu You and Li Jian.

Starting from the principle that consciousness determines behavior and behavior reflects consciousness.

There must be a specific reason for the deceased being controlled in this way.

After a long time, Jiang An replied, ”I have thought of a possibility.”

”Speak quickly!”

Captain Li Jian urged eagerly.

Wu You and Zhang Yean also instantly focused their gaze on Jiang An.

Jiang An analyzed, ”Firstly, this injury was definitely caused by someone else.”

”The deceased could not possibly inflict such injuries across the chest, back, and both arms by themselves.”

”I believe this person is the murderer.”

”The reason for forcibly controlling the deceased’s body, I think there are two reasons.”

Zhang Yean leaned in a bit closer to listen more clearly.

If not for wearing a forensic autopsy protective suit and latex surgical gloves, she felt she might have taken a notebook to make records.

Even the experienced forensic expert Wu You listened with keen interest.

Jiang An said, ”The first reason is analyzing from the symptoms of the toxic substance.”

”Tetramine is a neurotoxin that can excite the central nervous system, primarily causing limb convulsions, twitching, spasms, and rigidity.”

”The process from toxin onset to cessation is continuous, varying with the amount of toxin, but the process is basically similar.”

”Thus, in the early stages of tetramine poisoning, the murderer may have used this pressing control method to prevent the deceased’s limb convulsions and movements from attracting attention from those nearby.”

”The second reason, from the murderer’s perspective, if he wanted to disguise this as a sudden accidental death, the scene must appear very calm, and the corpse should look like it was in a resting state.”

”Aligning the deceased’s arms on both sides of the body, parallel to the trunk, and maintaining a supine posture.”

”This appearance is most in line with sudden death during sleep.”

Captain Li Jian nodded after listening and said, ”Very well analyzed, makes a lot of sense.”

Wu You also nodded knowingly, not expecting Jiang An to have such in-depth research in toxicology analysis.

Even having a thorough understanding of the different phases of toxin manifestation inside the body.

Zhang Yean gave a thumbs up and said, ”Big brother, you’re suddenly quite scary to me.”

”What if one day, over a disagreement, you poison us and disguise it as sudden death? Wouldn’t it be hard to detect?”

Jiang An grinned and said, ”If I were to poison, no one would discover it in the first place.”

”Because I’m the one doing the autopsy. I could directly conclude it as sudden death.”

Instantly, Zhang Yean’s eyes widened, stunned in place.

Having a forensic pathologist as a friend can be creepy sometimes.

Captain Li Jian raised his wrist, glanced at his watch, and said, ”It’s already 4:30 a.m., experts, we’d better speed up our work and finish early.”

Wu You said, ”Captain Li, Jiang An is ambidextrous in dissecting, so his efficiency is doubled.”

”Next, we just need to extract the stomach contents of the deceased for toxicology testing.”

Twenty minutes later, Jiang An extracted the stomach contents of the deceased and placed them in a glass beaker.

Wu You said, ”I’ll immediately place this extract in the rapid toxin testing instrument, aiming to show preliminary results within 30 minutes.”

Jiang An asked, ”Is it that fast?”

Wu You replied, ”Hehe, this equipment just upgraded, first showing the type of toxin, then quantitative measurement.”

”The key is that after the upgrade, there’s an app feature allowing remote result viewing.”

Meanwhile.

Yang Guang, along with two officers, stayed up all night at the police station.

They were at that moment sorting and summarizing the theft cases in their jurisdiction over the past three months.

According to Yang Guang’s conjecture, it was not excluded that the deceased’s backpack and phone were stolen by a thief.

One officer yawned and said, ”Mr. Yang, after sorting, there were 20 theft cases in the jurisdiction over three months: 3 home burglaries, 10 electric vehicle thefts, 6 car interior thefts, and 1 theft of personal belongings.”

”In three months, 8 suspects were arrested; except for the personal belongings theft case, all others were solved.”

Director Yang asked, ”What happened with that personal belongings theft case?”

”That case occurred four days ago, and the crime scene was at Zizhu Mountain.”

Upon hearing ”Zizhu Mountain,” he immediately perked up, saying, ”Look into what happened carefully?”

”According to the report, they were participating in a square dance at the time; their personal items were placed nearby, and when it ended, they found their handbag gone, which contained cash, a phone, and cosmetics.”

”At that time, four elderly individuals got robbed, with a total of over ten thousand yuan stolen.”

After pondering briefly, Yang Guang said solemnly, ”We must start from this theft case. If a living person’s belongings can be stolen, how much more likely for a deceased person’s belongings to be stolen.”

At 5:10 a.m.

Li Jian, Wu You, Jiang An, and Zhang Yean left the forensic autopsy center in a police car.

Just 10 minutes after the vehicle set off, Wu You’s phone’s app notification sound chimed.

”Comrades, the system upgrade is really high-end, the test results are about to come out.”

He reached for his phone, swiped the screen, and opened the app.

Instantly, Wu You was dumbfounded in his seat, repeatedly looking at the phone screen.

Ten seconds later, with Li Jian holding the steering wheel, he turned his head and urged, ”Mr. Wu, staying up all night, you take so long just to read a notification?”

Zhang Yean laughed and said, ”I guess the system upgrade is too advanced, Mr. Wu needs to adjust.”

Wu You looked up, with a face full of dread.

He said, ”Captain Li, the extracted experimental sample did not detect tetramine components.”

Instantly, a sharp braking sound was heard, and the police car came to an immediate halt.
