Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Unusual Lividity Distribution!

At this moment, a man in a black suit carrying a stainless steel toolbox walked over.

”Mr. Wu, no fresh corpses coming in today?”

He was picking his teeth with a toothpick as he asked.

”Today, the main task is to autopsy the previous student’s corpse.”

Wu You casually replied.

Then, he asked, ”With this person here, are you sure you want to perform the autopsy yourself?”

Jiang An nodded firmly.

For a forensic pathologist, only by touching the body themselves does local dissection have a substantial feel.

Only then can they discover the clues within.

The man across picked his teeth and asked, ”Mr. Wu, what do you mean?”

”Did I come here for nothing?”

Wu You said, ”We won’t trouble you today.”

The man in the suit said, ”Our job of cutting bodies has been taken away.”

Wu You explained, ”Please understand, this colleague just arrived and wants to improve his professional skills.”

”Mr. Wu, no worries! Just call me next time when you’re sure!”

Immediately, the man left with his black toolbox.

Jiang An asked, ”Mr. Wu, where is the equipment preparation room?”

”At the end of the corridor, on the left side!”

Watching Jiang An leave, Wu You had a myriad of questions flashing through his mind.

There were clearly easier ways, why insist on doing it personally, it was really baffling.

Zhang Yean also looked terrified.

”I don’t get it either.”

Meanwhile, Jiang An walked into the forensic autopsy preparation room.

A gray metal cabinet stood beside a row of storage boxes, containing gloves, masks, shoe covers, and blue surgical gowns.

Familiar equipment, familiar scene.

Only the autopsy subject was unfamiliar.

In less than five minutes, Jiang An put on the blue surgical gown, mask, and shoe covers.

Especially the latex surgical gloves, he wore three layers.

Normally, one layer is enough to isolate bacteria and viruses.

But!

When using scalpels and suturing needles, it is very likely to cut or puncture the gloves.

If the deceased had an infectious disease, such as immune deficiency, syphilis, gonorrhea or other infections, it would be troublesome.

These diseases have incubation periods.

When you become ill, explaining it as a work injury is difficult.

Who would believe you?

Whether it’s a lifestyle indiscretion or an occupational infection, no one can say for sure.

Even though today’s body is a student, with a low risk of infection, Jiang An still exercised great caution.

A little caution goes a long way.

Catching those three types of infectious diseases.

The social psychological impact is definitely greater than the physical impact.

As the saying goes, ”The harm isn’t great, but the insult is immense.”

Seeing Jiang An coming out with the instrument box, Wu You hurriedly said, ”I’ll put on a surgical gown too, to assist you.”

Jiang An said, ”Mr. Wu, I can manage, please help me record the examination results.”

Wu You naturally didn’t want to perform the dissection and was more than happy to hear this.

”Alright! As per the team leader’s arrangements.”

At this moment, Zhang Yean looked at Jiang An, her gaze fixed on his latex gloves and instrument box.

Jiang An asked, ”Senior Sister, would you like to experience the prowess of a female forensic expert?”

Zhang Yean quickly waved her hands, ”Spare your sister!”

”I’m timid and afraid of having nightmares at night.”

Jiang An nodded and said, ”Alright then! You can watch!”

Subsequently, Jiang An pushed open the door to Autopsy Room No. 1.

A piercing ”creak” sounded very sharply.

A girl in burial clothes lay on the stainless steel autopsy table.

Wu You came in and said, ”After the previous autopsy, we thought we wouldn’t examine the body again, so we let the family dress the body in burial clothes.”

The red burial clothes, coupled with the red shoes, contrasted starkly with her pale cheeks.

This appearance looked more terrifying than the female ghost in horror movies.

Zhang Yean took one look and ran out.

Scary!

Too scary!

Seeing photos of the deceased in the office was not frightening, but seeing the real thing was eerie.

However, when Zhang Yean rushed outside, glanced around, the lights in the corridor flickered.

Alone, it was very quiet around, only the humming sound of the exhaust fan could be heard.

Wherever she looked, it was all work photos.

Alone with these, her heart raced even more than before indoors.

In an instant, she opened the door and went back in.

When she re-entered Autopsy Room No. 1, Jiang An was undressing the body entirely.

At this moment, the body on the autopsy table looked like a normal person.

Just with somewhat pale skin, with a hideous sewn-up wound on the chest and abdomen.

This was the ”I-shaped” incision left from the last autopsy.

Standing to the right of the stainless steel autopsy table, Jiang An, and Wu You stood opposite.

Wu You said, ”From the last autopsy, we confirmed suffocation death; no other injuries were visible on the body.”

”And, there were no signs of mouth covering damage in the deceased’s nose and mouth area, hence no support for any mouth-covering action before death.”

Next, Wu You pointed at the deceased’s lower body and said, ”The deceased’s lower body membrane is intact, with no rupture.”

”There are no signs of assault on both inner thighs!”

The previous autopsy was completed by Wu You himself.

Re-autopsying the body, he spoke conservatively.

This apprentice is no ordinary person, not only with solid theoretical knowledge but likely with an impressive background as well.

After listening, Jiang An nodded.

His gaze was entirely focused on the deceased’s upper body, especially the head, neck, and chest.

Jiang An asked, ”Mr. Wu, don’t you feel the skin color of the deceased’s upper body has an issue?”

”Upper body skin color?”

Wu You was a bit surprised and lowered his head to observe.

Seeing the serious expression on Jiang An’s face, Zhang Yean felt he must have discovered something.

Zhang Yean took a deep breath, mustered her courage, and walked over to observe the deceased.

Wu You said, ”Nothing much, just some lividity.”

”These suffocated corpses often show purplish lividity.”

”Nothing special, right?”

Jiang An glanced at Wu You and said, ”A suffocated body with hypoxia-induced skin color change should show a systemic color change.”

”However, this color change is localized!”

As Jiang An spoke, he drew a circle on the deceased’s body.

Following Jiang An’s finger direction, Wu You carefully observed.

After a long time, he suddenly lifted his head and looked at Jiang An in horror.

Their gazes met, and they both nodded slightly.

”Lividity!”

Jiang An and Wu You said in unison.

Standing beside them, Zhang Yean looked confused; she asked, ”I remember my police academy instructor said lividity mainly appears on the back, how can it be on the deceased’s head?”

Jiang An turned and replied, ”That’s because your instructor is at the police academy, not in a forensic school!”

”This lividity distribution is of significant value for analyzing the nature of death!”
