Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2391: Chapter 2284: Signs of Rekindled Flames

Seeing everyone getting more and more upset, Qi Siyuan quickly ended the topic: ”Let’s not talk about it anymore. Has anyone not eaten yet? I’ll go cook something!”

Shen Qiqi wiped her tears: ”Auntie, I’ll help!”

”Alright!”

The two women went into the kitchen, Qi Siyuan rolled up her sleeves to prepare the vegetables, while Shen Qiqi assisted her.

”You’re saying that Cheng Yue is showing signs of rekindling with that Yan Huan?” Qi Siyuan asked while busy with her hands.

”Yes!” Shen Qiqi nodded, ”I see that they both can’t seem to forget each other...”

”This kid really doesn’t make me worry less...” Qi Siyuan sighed.

”Auntie! What do you think about it?” Shen Qiqi asked.

”Isn’t it obvious? You’re the only daughter-in-law in my heart!” Qi Siyuan looked at Shen Qiqi and said, ”You two grew up together and know each other well! Our families have an unusual relationship, and you love Cheng Yue so much, and I like you so much, it’s definitely you!”

Shen Qiqi smiled: ”You’re my favorite, Auntie!”

”Good girl!” Qi Siyuan showed a satisfied smile, ”Rest assured, Cheng Yue is generally an obedient child. Although he’s a bit rebellious, family holds a significant place in his heart! Especially after your sister Cheng Yue passed away, he seemed to grow up overnight!”

”Don’t worry, Auntie. I will definitely treat Cheng Yue well with all my heart! I will also respect you and Uncle Cheng!” Shen Qiqi said opportunistically.

”I believe you!”

”Hmm.” Shen Qiqi nodded happily.

”By the way,” Qi Siyuan suddenly remembered something and asked, ”I heard that Yan Huan is hospitalized?”

”Yes.” Shen Qiqi replied, ”I heard she was poisoned by medication! She has a strange illness, a bizarre kind of asthma! She can’t leave Nancheng; as soon as she leaves, she gets sick.”

”Did you see it with your own eyes?”

”No. But I know Cheng Yue has been worried about this. I heard they went to do rural medical consultations together, and Cheng Yue saw her fall ill, then she started taking a lot of medication. Now she’s poisoned by medication, but after examining her, they found no signs of asthma.” Shen Qiqi explained.

”That’s really strange!” Qi Siyuan didn’t expect that.

”Yeah! She’s hospitalized at our hospital!”

Hearing Shen Qiqi say that, Qi Siyuan felt even more uneasy.

If Yan Huan was just making up excuses not to leave Nancheng it would be fine, but if she was really ill, there was no way she could let Cheng Yue be with her.

Now she only had this one son, and as she got older, she couldn’t afford the turmoil.

She only hoped her son could marry a normal wife and live a peaceful life.

............

Ji Chuan returned to the hospital, holding that stack of photos.

Standing at the door of the ward, he hesitated, not knowing whether he should give these photos to Yan Huan, or to Cheng Yue.

Just as he was undecided, the door of the ward opened, and Yan Huan came out holding a hot water bottle: ”Ji Chuan? Why are you back so early?”

”Finished my business.” Ji Chuan thought for a moment, then handed the envelope in his hand directly to Yan Huan, ”This is for you!”
