Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2373: Chapter 2266: Wherever You Are, I’ll Be There

”Because I really can’t take it anymore! Cheng Yue, my love is too humble!” Shen Qiqi said as tears fell, ”It’s been so many years, we’ve been together since kindergarten! Elementary, middle school, high school, we were supposed to be together, and you went to Nancheng’s Military Medical University on your own. What about me? Was it easy for me all these years? I’ve been waiting for you, I don’t ask for you to like me, I just ask for you not to hate me!”

The last time Yan Huan saw Shen Qiqi, she was still very wary of her.

Now it seems her rejection was not without reason.

A girl who has liked Cheng Yue for so many years, to confess her feelings in front of so many people, places herself in such a low position.

She said her love was humble, and she wasn’t wrong at all.

”Qiqi. Let’s not talk about our issues here, okay? All these years, I’ve always considered you my little sister.”

”But I never considered you my brother!” It’s been so many years, her feelings for Cheng Yue are deeply ingrained.

As a child, she used to run around the whole courtyard with Cheng Yue.

Cheng Yue was the leader among the kids in the courtyard, back then he had everyone call him Commander, and she insisted on being his guard.

She thought the guard was supposed to follow the Commander everywhere.

As kids, when they played house, he would ’go to war’, and to ’protect’ his safety, she was always the one charging forward bravely.

She followed him to smash the glass at Lieutenant Zhang’s house, and trample the coal balls at Commissar Wang’s house.

Wherever Cheng Yue was, there was Shen Qiqi.

She thought she would never be separated from Cheng Yue, she even fantasized about giving her first kiss to Cheng Yue when she turned eighteen.

But she didn’t expect that an entrance exam would separate the two of them.

Shen Qiqi’s tears fell, crying so sadly.

”Shen Qiqi, since it’s your birthday, why don’t we all celebrate together? Let’s have this birthday together!” Ji Chuan pointed to the seat next to Yan Huan, ”Please sit! Stop crying! How about we happily finish this birthday?”

”Okay!” Shen Qiqi nodded, decisively sat next to Yan Huan, and said looking at her, ”Sister Yan Huan, you don’t mind, right? Even if you do, it’s useless. I love Cheng Yue, no matter where he goes, I will follow him! Now that he’s come to Nancheng, I follow. Even if one day he goes to the South Pole or North Pole, I will go too!”

”Alright.” Yan Huan forced a smile, and suddenly lost her appetite as the waiter brought the steak.

Once loved, waited for four years.

This love, it’s not something that can be forgotten just by saying so.

Perhaps, it needs time and the passage of years.

”Qiqi! Let’s not discuss this today, okay?” Cheng Yue looked at Shen Qiqi, whose eyes were glistening with tears, and couldn’t bring himself to speak harsh words to her.

After all, today is her birthday.

”Alright then.” Shen Qiqi knew Cheng Yue’s bottom line and feared that pushing it would lead to complete unpleasantness.

She had already expressed her feelings publicly.

That was enough!

”Since it’s Shen Qiqi’s birthday, we can’t do without a cake!” Ji Chuan was about to call the waiter when Cheng Yue quickly stopped him.

”Director Ji! I’ve already ordered a birthday cake, it will be delivered shortly!” Cheng Yue said.

”Really?” Shen Qiqi felt quite surprised, ”Cheng Yue, I didn’t expect you to care about me after all!”
