Chapter 2378: Chapter 2271: In Poor Condition

Bang bang bang~

The sound of knocking on the door rang out.

”Come in!” Feng Yuzhi pushed the door open and entered, seeing Yan Huan lying in bed dazedly, she couldn’t help but ask, ”What time is it? Aren’t you going to the unit? Is today a day off?”

”I don’t want to go.” Yan Huan turned over, showing her back to her, ”I just want to lie here today and not go anywhere!”

”Hey? What’s going on?” Feng Yuzhi noticed something was off with her daughter’s state, hastily walked over, reached out to feel her forehead, which was scorching hot, ”You have a fever! Let’s go, I’ll take you to the hospital!”

”I’m not going! Mom, I’m fine! Just let me lie down for a while and I’ll be good.” Yan Huan said lazily, unwilling to move at all.

”No way! This fever is so heavy, how can we not go to the hospital?” Feng Yuzhi, without waiting for a word of protest, pulled Yan Huan up from the bed.

In the office, Ji Chuan had his book spread open, biting the pen barrel as he scribbled and drew on it.

After three knocks on the door, An Hao pushed it open and entered.

”Director Ji! We have admitted a patient in our department. The patient’s condition isn’t very optimistic, we might need to perform a joint surgery, and we need your surgical team’s cooperation! Can you come for a consultation later?” An Hao said.

”Consultation?” Ji Chuan asked without raising his head, ”Is the surgery very difficult?”

”Not very difficult! But, the symptoms are complex, so we can’t rely solely on our team. To be safe, you have to send someone, right?”

”Alright then! Let’s have Cheng Yue go?” Ji Chuan said casually.

”Hey!” An Hao was puzzled, Director Ji, who was known for meticulous work, was surprisingly dismissive this time. She stepped forward, slammed her hands on the desk, ”Director Ji! Professor Ji! Your attitude is problematic!”

”Really?” Ji Chuan glanced up at her, then buried his head again, ”I don’t think so! Cheng Yue can absolutely handle it.”

”Hmm?” An Hao was confused by Ji Chuan’s attitude, ”Are you nurturing Cheng Yue now? Or do you have other plans?”

Ji Chuan smiled gently, shook the book in his hand, ”I’m researching a problem. The surgery will be handled by Cheng Yue; he’ll definitely be fine. If there were any concerns, I wouldn’t dare let him go.”

”What book is it that has you so engrossed?” An Hao leaned over for a look, ”What? Are you planning to move into internal medicine?”

Ji Chuan didn’t tease An Hao further and said directly, ”Are you aware of Yan Huan’s condition?”

”I’ve heard about it. I haven’t studied it specifically, since Yan Huan doesn’t want to talk about it. What? You’re researching this?”

”Yes.” Ji Chuan put down the book in his hand, speaking earnestly, ”I think her condition is quite peculiar, I want to study it.”

”You’ve truly got a heart.” An Hao praised, ”If you had pursued Yan Huan a bit earlier, I bet now your kids might already be shopping for soy sauce.”

”She wasn’t interested back then. I expressed my feelings, hinted at my intentions, but she seemed not interested in me, even somewhat resistant! You know, I don’t want to impose my will on others!” Ji Chuan said.

”But it’s not too late now!” An Hao smiled encouragingly, ”I support you! Go for it!”

”Really? I heard Cheng Yue is your same-school brother!”

”And you’re my teacher!” An Hao mused, ”Compared to Cheng Yue, you’re more suitable for her!”
