Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2387: Chapter 2280: Tasteless as Chewing Wax

Ji Chuan felt as if he was attending a sinister dinner party, the topics at the table completely suppressing his originally good appetite.

The food tasted like wax in his mouth.

Knowing about Yan Huan and Cheng Yue’s relationship was one thing, but seeing it with his own eyes was another.

Though Ji Chuan knew in his heart that these photos were definitely taken by Qiu Xinyi with ulterior motives.

Nonetheless, there was still definitely a lingering connection between the two.

And there was always the possibility of rekindling old flames.

Otherwise, how could such suggestive photos be taken?

”Dr. Ji? You’re not eating much! What’s wrong? Is my cooking not delicious?” Qiu Xinyi asked.

Ji Chuan shook his head and put down his chopsticks: ”Not at all! I don’t have a big appetite, so I can’t eat much! But I’ve been trying my best to eat, and the taste is quite good!”

”That’s good! This girl Xinyi put a lot of thought into this meal, if you don’t eat she would be disappointed,” Chief Qiu chuckled.

Actually, it’s not just Qiu Xinyi who was disappointed, even Chief Qiu felt disappointed.

After all, it’s truly a pity that such a good person can’t become his son-in-law!

After dinner, Chief Qiu often pulled Ji Chuan aside for tea and chats.

Ji Chuan excused himself saying he had other things to attend to, but before leaving, he wanted to check on Chief Qiu’s thyroid nodule to see if there was a need for surgery.

Chief Qiu had initially just mentioned it casually, as he was actually quite hesitant about surgery.

But since he brought Ji Chuan over for this occasion, he decided to let him take a look.

Ji Chuan was very experienced; he reviewed Chief Qiu’s previous scans and conducted a manual examination, essentially determining whether surgery was necessary.

”How is it?” Chief Qiu asked.

”The nodule is benign! It feels sizable, and the ultrasound has already shown this. You can choose to remove it or leave it. My suggestion is, if you feel it interferes with your usual swallowing, you can go ahead and have it surgically removed!”

”Are there any risks?”

”Generally, removal could affect the vocal cords. If the surgery goes well, there might be no impact. You should consider it!” Ji Chuan said.

”Alright then! Since that’s the case, I’ll think it over carefully! If I need surgery, I’ll come find you, Ji Yidao!” Chief Qiu said with a smile.

”Okay!” Ji Chuan finished and stood up, ”If Chief Qiu doesn’t have anything else, I’ll head out!”

”Alright!” Chief Qiu said, ”If you have things to do, go ahead! Xinyi, go see Ji Chuan off!”

”No need for the trouble, I can walk out on my own!” Ji Chuan quickly declined.

”How can that be?” Qiu Xinyi smiled and said, ”I’m just going out anyway, the two of us can just take it as being on the way!”

Leaving Chief Qiu’s home, as they walked, Qiu Xinyi said: ”Ji Chuan, when you have time in the future, come to my house more often! My father likes you very much, and if you have the opportunity, let him say a few words to help you at the hospital, as a capable young man like you should have a better future!”

”Thank you! I’m not very interested in promotions or anything; I just hope I can perform my surgeries well!” Ji Chuan said and stopped, ”This is far enough, you should head back! Thank you for the dinner tonight!”
