Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2352: Chapter 2345: A Veil of Doubt

”That’s good.” Yan Huan nodded and said seriously to Ji Chuan, ”Actually, I don’t feel threatened! If another girl liked you, and you happened to like her too, I definitely wouldn’t interfere. But, I know Qiu Xinyi too well, someone like her doesn’t deserve you!”

”Even if she did, it wouldn’t matter! The person I like is only one! It’s...”

”Hey, don’t say it!” Yan Huan interrupted him, ”Let’s hurry on our way.”

Ji Chuan knew that Yan Huan might still not be able to accept him now; she was still habitually avoiding.

Since that’s the case, he wouldn’t mention it.

There was plenty of time in the future; he didn’t want to burden Yan Huan.

The two of them continued walking along the village road when suddenly, a crazed donkey came galloping out of nowhere.

The crazed donkey suddenly charged at Yan Huan, giving her a big scare.

”Get out of the way! This donkey must be spooked!”

Ji Chuan reached out and grabbed Yan Huan’s wrist and ran to the side. The donkey’s owner came chasing after them, panting, whipping the donkey’s behind with a leather whip.

The harder he whipped, the more fiercely the donkey ran.

On either side of the village road were piles of dry firewood, covered with big tarps by the villagers to keep them from getting wet in the rain.

Seeing the piles of firewood, the donkey charged into them, scattering the neatly stacked firewood everywhere.

The scattered firewood sent dust flying all over the place.

Ji Chuan raised his hand and waved a couple of times to prevent the dust from the firewood from blowing towards him and Yan Huan.

However, what he didn’t expect was that Yan Huan suddenly seemed to have been choked, and as soon as she tried to speak, she started coughing.

And the coughing was severe, the next second, Yan Huan’s nightmare arrived.

That’s right, she suddenly had an attack.

She began to gasp for air, and with each gasp, her face changed color.

Her chest rose and fell violently like bellows, and her hands involuntarily went to clutch at her neck.

”Yan Huan, are you okay?” Ji Chuan sensed something was wrong and quickly asked her, ”Your medicine? Did you bring the medicine I gave you?”

”I did...in the bag, in the bag...”

Yan Huan felt like she was suffocating to death.

”Hold on. It’ll be okay soon!” Ji Chuan calmly and steadily took out the medicine from Yan Huan’s small bag she carried with her, ”Open your mouth and swallow it!”

Yan Huan swallowed the medicine, and Ji Chuan patted her back to help.

However, he noticed that Yan Huan’s breathing steadied unusually quickly.

”Feeling better?”

”I’m fine now.”

”How often do you have attacks?” Ji Chuan asked her.

”I don’t know. There are no warning signs, it comes suddenly! Since I’ve been here, it happens almost every day, it’s very uncomfortable!”

Yan Huan said somewhat sadly, ”My condition is very strange; only when I’m in Nancheng do I not have attacks! As soon as I leave Nancheng, it happens! All the tests have been done, and there are no problems, but this only happens when I leave Nancheng.”

Listening to her explanation, Ji Chuan felt a cloud of doubt cover his heart!

He’s been in medicine for many years, and aside from surgery, he has quite a lot of experience in other areas.

Yan Huan’s situation was not that of an ordinary asthma patient.

Previously, he didn’t know all these details, but now that he’d witnessed Yan Huan’s entire illness and medication process, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was odd.

”Has it always been like this for all these years?”

”Yes, always.”

Ji Chuan nodded thoughtfully, having some other ideas in mind.

”Yan Huan, how about I give you a task?”

”What task?”

”After an attack, write down everything that happened before and after, and then tell me!”
