Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2146: Chapter 2141: I Don’t Need to Eavesdrop

The day after An Hao finished the phone call with Qin Jian, she found Yan Ye.

Catching some time after class, she asked Yan Ye out alone: “Mr. Yan, there’s something I’d like to ask your help in investigating!”

“Go ahead! Whatever I can do, I will help!” Yan Ye agreed readily.

“You remember, don’t you? Yesterday Hua Jin mentioned having done surgery on Hou Zicheng. I want to know about Hou Zicheng’s medical situation!” An Hao stated directly, getting straight to the point.

“I remember! Why the sudden interest in checking this? His medical records are in the United States! I’m powerless at the moment!” Yan Ye found himself somewhat lacking in the ability to solve the issue that An Hao raised.

“Mr. Yan, please overcome this difficulty! This matter is very important to me!”

“Why?” Yan Ye asked, “Do you suspect there’s an issue with it?”

An Hao leaned close to Yan Ye’s ear and whispered a few things, making Yan Ye look at An Hao in shock: “Is what you said true?”

“I wouldn’t lie to you! Mr. Yan, you also know Qin Jian’s current situation! I can’t just watch him carry the blame! After the data leak last time, although he wasn’t arrested, as you’ve seen, a lot of achievements and rewards have nothing to do with him anymore! In fact, he’s even carrying a penalty! Although it’s not a big penalty, it’s truly unfair to Qin Jian!”

“So, you really want to help him, right?” Yan Ye understood An Hao’s feelings, “Alright then! I’ll contact my former colleagues and friends overseas to see if they can help you investigate Hou Zicheng’s medical records. However, we don’t even know in which hospital Hou Zicheng was treated, how should I go about checking this?”

“Check one by one…” An Hao said helplessly, “Please… Mr. Yan, even if it’s for your cousin…”

“Cough, cough, cough!” Yan Ye almost choked on his own saliva, “Retract that last sentence! It sounds so awkward to me!”

“Hahaha! Alright, I’ll take it back!” An Hao blinked and laughed.

“Then I’ll go look for a place where I can make overseas calls!”

“Hurry, hurry! I’m waiting for your good news!”

Yan Ye left, and An Hao took a breath of relief. After two classes, she felt dizzy, needing to walk outside and breathe some fresh air to clear her mind.

But who would have thought that just as she turned around, she saw a man leaning against a plane tree not far from her, holding a book and looking down, not sure if he was actually reading it.

And this man seemed to be Hua Jin?

As An Hao was thinking, the man suddenly looked up at her, a bright smile curling up at the corners of his mouth: “Hi! An Hao!”

“You… what are you doing here?” An Hao looked as if she had seen a ghost.

“I’ve been here all along? It’s just you didn’t notice!” Hua Jin stood up straight, put the book away, and smiled at An Hao.

“Impossible! If you were here, how could we not have seen you?” Could he have been eavesdropping?

An Hao was extremely cautious about this Hua Jin.

“I don’t need to eavesdrop! I’ve been standing behind this tree all along! But you all came and I saw you chatting, so I didn’t disturb you! Yet, it seems you are suspicious of me!” Hua Jin said, putting on a troubled expression, “I don’t know what I’ve done to make you so wary of me!”
