Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2110: Chapter 2105: To Avoid Unnecessary Misunderstandings

In the blink of an eye, An Hao has been gone for half a month.

On Friday afternoon, Qin Jian finally had time to take care of the kids. He left work early to pick them up from kindergarten.

It turned out that spring was flu season.

Ning Chenguang’s constitution was slightly weaker, and he caught a cold. By afternoon, he was coughing and feverish, feeling very uncomfortable.

When Qin Jian arrived, the kindergarten doctor had already prescribed medicine for Ning Chenguang and given him a fever-reducing shot.

But the child was still very sickly, lacking energy. He lay on the small naptime bed in kindergarten, eyes closed, frowning and motionless.

Yuan Yunong sat beside him, holding a cup of water, speaking to him gently: ”Chenguang, wake up! Sit up and have some water!”

Ning Chenguang opened his eyes, looked at Yuan Yunong, and shook his head: ”Teacher Yuan, I feel awful, I don’t want to drink water.”

”Not drinking water won’t do! You have to drink more water when you have a fever. You’ll sweat and feel better! Listen to the teacher, I’ll feed you.” Yuan Yunong helped Ning Chenguang sit up and poured the warm water into his mouth.

After drinking the water, Ning Chenguang buried his head into Yuan Yunong’s arms: ”Teacher, I miss my mom!”

Yuan Yunong gently stroked his head: ”Good boy, listen! You can treat the teacher as your mom for now!”

Qin Jian arrived just in time to witness this scene and hurried to Ning Chenguang’s side: ”Chenguang, daddy’s here! Shall we go home?”

Ning Chenguang lifted his head, saw Qin Jian, and nodded with a slight smile: ”Okay!”

”You’ve worked hard! Teacher Yuan!” Qin Jian picked up Ning Chenguang and spoke to Yuan Yunong.

”No need to thank me! It’s what I should do. An Hao isn’t home, and I’m a friend of An Hao and also their teacher. It’s my duty to take care of them.”

”Then we’ll head home first.”

”Wait a minute, Captain Qin! Let me go back with you! You can’t cook, I’ll help you prepare a meal...” Yuan Yunong offered warmly.

”No need. I’ll handle it myself!” Qin Jian declined.

Since An Hao wasn’t home, he couldn’t bring any woman back to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings, which would be difficult to explain later.

Yuan Yunong seemed to notice his hesitation and quickly said: ”Don’t worry! I have a boyfriend! If you’re concerned that going alone might affect you, you can ask Zhao Dong to come too. It’s just that I’m really worried about Chenguang suffering, and I want to spend more time with the child and lend a hand.”

Qin Jian was still indecisive but then heard Ning Chenguang say: ”Dad! I want Teacher Yuan to accompany me! Is that okay?”

Seeing Ning Chenguang’s longing gaze, Qin Jian nodded and then said to Yuan Yunong: ”Teacher Yuan, could you use your office phone to call Zhao Dong? You’re not married, and I’m afraid you coming home with me might cause misunderstandings between us. I’m worried it might affect you in the future...”

”Don’t worry about it! Thank you for considering everything so thoroughly!” Yuan Yunong turned and dialed Zhao Dong from the office, then brought Ning Chenyang along and went with Qin Jian’s family back home.

Once home, Qin Jian put Ning Chenguang to rest on the bed and picked up a storybook to read to him.

In the meantime, Yuan Yunong took the initiative to cook in the kitchen, with Ning Chenyang assisting.

Soon, there was a knock at the door.

Yuan Yunong heard it and thought Zhao Dong had arrived, so she hurried to open the door.

But when she opened the door, she saw Liao Ting standing outside.
