Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2116: Chapter 2111: Suspicion

“Alright, let’s go! I’m really tired.” Qin Jian urged Zhao Dong impatiently.

“Okay then. See you later! Commander, if you ever need someone to take care of the kids again, just let me know! I’ll help for free!” After Zhao Dong finished joking, he grabbed Yuan Yunong’s wrist and started to walk out.

Qin Jian took a shower and lay back on his bed, unable to sleep for a long time.

His mind kept replaying what Yuan Yunong had said: “Such a strong smell of gunpowder…”

How did she know the smell on him was gunpowder? And she could actually smell it?

Yes, that’s right.

He had been to the shooting range, and inside the enclosed shooting space, the smell of gunpowder would linger after bullets were fired, so it was correct that he smelled of gunpowder.

At the time, on the way back, the smell should have dissipated almost completely.

He and Zhao Dong might be so accustomed to this environment and used to the smell that they were not particularly sensitive to it, and they might not even notice it themselves.

But Yuan Yunong found it very strong.

What does this mean?

It means her sense of smell is very keen.

And the fact that she wasn’t surprised at all when she smelled it suggests that she knew what he had been doing.

For a soldier, the smell of gunpowder on them clearly isn’t from setting off fireworks.

People who don’t know wouldn’t understand any of this.

Although Yuan Yunong works as a teacher in the military district kindergarten, she usually wouldn’t come into contact with these things, so how did she know?

Qin Jian unexpectedly recalled the first time a secret was leaked, he had also returned from the shooting range, passing by Yuan Yunong. He seemed to remember that Yuan Yunong had a slight frown and a moment of surprise.

After that, An Hao, upstairs, sniffed his clothes and asked where he had been.

Clearly, there was the smell of gunpowder on him.

Because he tested weapons indoors, with thousands of rounds fired, it was impossible not to leave some kind of scent…

So, does this mean that Yuan Yunong knew what he was doing the first time she came to the house?

Alright, even if Yunong knew he had been to the shooting range, how could she also know he went to deliver data to the armory?

With this suspicion, Qin Jian fell asleep in a daze.

………………..

Zhao Dong took Yuan Yunong back to her dormitory. Standing downstairs, Zhao Dong still felt quite reluctant to leave.

“Yunong! Our time together is always so short! I’ll try to find some time over the weekend. How about we see a movie?” Zhao Dong asked, full of hope as he looked at Yuan Yunong.

“Didn’t we already go last time? Do we need to go again this time?” Yuan Yunong seemed a bit unwilling.

“You don’t want to go? If you don’t want to go, we can do something else instead.” Zhao Dong looked at Yuan Yunong seriously and said, “Didn’t you say you’d give me a chance, to try to get to know me? Are you going back on your word?”

“Can I think about it later?” Yuan Yunong turned her head and said.

“Why? Are you still thinking about your ex-boyfriend? Didn’t you break up with him? Didn’t you say there was no hope of marrying him?” Zhao Dong grabbed her arms and said, “You don’t need to rush to reject me, nor do you need to rush to answer me! I only hope you can naturally try being with me, okay?”

After listening, Yuan Yunong nodded slightly, “Alright! I promise you! But can I go upstairs now?”
