Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2103: Chapter 2098: Playing Matchmaker

That evening, after work, Qin Jian went to the kindergarten to pick up the kids and brought them home.

An Hao wasn’t back yet.

Qin Jian read some picture books with the two children, and it was dark by the time An Hao got home.

Her day was packed with surgeries; she had been standing almost the whole day and was too tired to say a word.

As soon as An Hao walked in, the two little ones dropped the picture books and happily rushed over: ”Mom, you’re finally back. We’re starving; if you didn’t come back soon, our stomachs would have flattened out.”

An Hao crouched down and kissed the foreheads of her two little darlings: ”Let Mommy rest a bit first. I bought some bread; you two go and eat some first.”

The two kids cheerfully accepted the bread their mom bought and happily went to the side to eat.

An Hao plopped down on the sofa, completely exhausted and unable to move.

Qin Jian put away the children’s picture books and then moved over to his wife. Seeing the tired expression on her face, he raised his hand to massage her shoulders: ”Why are you so tired? Was today another back-to-back day?”

”Yeah. Winter is the peak season for cardiovascular diseases. Many patients came in for a consultation, and our surgery department’s workload has increased a lot.” An Hao said.

”Since you’re so tired, let’s not cook tonight. How about we go out to eat? Something nice, to help you replenish your energy!” suggested Qin Jian.

”Sure! No problem. I don’t feel like cooking anyway! Call the kids over, let’s all go together!” An Hao said, stretching.

”Okay. But, tonight, we’re inviting two more people.” Qin Jian then told An Hao about how Zhao Dong had asked him to invite Yuan Yunong earlier that day, ”So, tonight let’s call them out together, give them a little push.”

”A push? Zhao Dong and Yuan Yunong?”

”Yeah! I think Teacher Yuan is pretty nice, and Zhao Dong is a bachelor! They should meet up. Later on, if they get married, Yunong will become a military spouse, and you’ll have another friend around.” Qin Jian said.

An Hao shook her head repeatedly: ”No way! You didn’t know? Yuan Yunong already has a boyfriend! How could she get together with Zhao Dong?”

”What? She already has a boyfriend?” Qin Jian felt sorry for Zhao Dong, ”He was just a bit too late.”

”Yes. Just tell Zhao Dong directly. Let him stop worrying about her, save himself the trouble!” suggested An Hao.

Since Qin Jian had confirmed the news, he quickly called Zhao Dong.

When Zhao Dong received the call, he was pleasantly surprised: ”Captain, you set it up for me so quickly?”

”I have some unfortunate news for you. Yuan Yunong already has a boyfriend! You don’t need to have her in mind anymore!” Qin Jian truthfully relayed the situation to Zhao Dong.

After some howls from the other end, it finally calmed down: ”Captain, then at least set up a meet as friends? After all, she was the first woman I had my eyes on!”

”Alright.”

Qin Jian hung up and recounted the phone conversation to An Hao.

”Still not giving up? Well then! In that case, let’s head out, and on the way, we’ll pick up Yuan Yunong from the kindergarten staff dorm.”

”Okay. It’s settled then.”

An hour later.

Qin Jian and his wife, along with the two little ones and Yuan Yunong, arrived at Nanguofeng. Zhao Dong had arrived a little earlier; he had changed into casual clothes and tidied himself up nicely, looking very dashing.
