Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2143: Chapter 2138: Fortunate Beyond Three Lifetimes

”Where is it?” Dr. Lu and Yan Ye asked in unison.

”At your wedding!” An Hao said.

”My wedding...?” Yan Ye thought for a moment, then suddenly remembered, ”He definitely appeared! I remember on my wedding day, he came along with Boss Hou.”

Dr. Lu didn’t know much, only knew he’d seen him, and with An Hao’s remark, he indeed recalled.

At the banquet, he seemed to have sat at the same table with Hua Jin, at that time, this man’s foreign appearance already stood out, drawing Dr. Lu’s attention.

But later he seemed to not eat anything, hastily leaving.

The impression he gave back then was quite mysterious, different from the strong scholarly aura he exuded now.

Once Boss Hou was mentioned, An Hao immediately became alert to everything.

Boss Hou has been confirmed as a spy, and is already a key focus for the National Security Bureau.

So anyone in contact with him is suspected of espionage.

They were in discussion about Hua Jin when suddenly a shadow stood beside them.

”May I sit here?”

Hearing the voice, An Hao looked up, seeing Hua Jin with a smile at the corner of his mouth, holding a tray and standing by their table.

”Of course, you can!”

”Please sit!”

With their approval, Hua Jin sat down.

Before anyone could speak, he said again: ”Were you just talking about me?”

”Oh...” Yan Ye smiled faintly, ”We feel like we’ve seen you somewhere before! So we’ve been discussing this issue.”

”So... did you come to any conclusion?” Hua Jin asked.

An Hao and the others were slightly stunned, but then heard him continue: ”Because I also feel you three look familiar, just can’t recall where we’d met.”

”At my wedding.” Yan Ye said.

Hua Jin showed a knowing expression, as if he just recalled himself.

Upon realizing Hua Jin had gone to the wedding with Boss Hou, an unfavorable label was already affixed to Hua Jin in her mind.

Seeing Hua Jin like this, An Hao chuckled lightly.

She vaguely remembers the intense gaze from below the stage, constantly following her figure.

When their gazes met in the air, Hua Jin seemed to avoid her eyes with a slight tilt of his head.

Now, he’s pretending to have just remembered.

Isn’t it a bit ridiculous?

But soon, An Hao heard Hua Jin chuckle and say: ”No wonder it is so. It turns out I attended your wedding. I still remember the maid of honor at the wedding was very beautiful, my gaze unintentionally being drawn towards her.”

”You don’t recognize her anymore?” Yan Ye asked in surprise.

”I feel it should be her? But I’m not sure! It’d be a small matter if it’s a joke. If I upset someone, that would be troublesome.” Hua Jin explained.

”You’re right. I was the maid of honor at that time.” An Hao confirmed his answer, then questioned him, ”Since you thought I was so beautiful, how could you not recall me immediately?”

”Perhaps your attire then and now is somewhat different?” Hua Jin said.

”So, we’ve known each other for a long time! Turns out it’s fate!” Dr. Lu said with a smile, ”I never expected to meet an international expert. What a stroke of luck!”
