Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2123: Chapter 2118: You Finally Came

Qin Jian smiled, with complex emotions in his eyes: ”I tell you, Hen Zhiyuan, you’ve been the deputy head in the army for so many years, have all those confidentiality regulations been for nothing? You’re bordering on leaking secrets.”

”This doesn’t count...”

After the two finished discussing matters, they returned to the ward.

Commander Guan was already prepared to leave, and Hen Zhiyuan, supporting Guan Qing, said goodbye to them and left.

Qin Jian spent some time in the hospital with the two children keeping Zhang Yun company. Seeing the tiredness on Zhang Yun’s face, Qin Jian took the opportunity to leave with the kids as well.

”Mom, take care of your health! After some time, when you get better, I’ll come to take you and dad to stay at my place for a few days!” Qin Jian said.

”I’m looking forward to getting well soon too. How about An Hao? Shouldn’t he be back soon? It’s not too many days left, right?” Zhang Yun, feeling compassionate for her son and grandchildren, was worried about how these three were managing without An Hao around.

”The training has been postponed again,” Qin Jian said helplessly, ”it might take another three months.”

”What? That long?” Zhang Yun was shocked, ”No, I must get discharged quickly to help you all.”

”You don’t have to worry about my side. There’s Gu Shuangshuang and Tian Niu! Plus, Teacher Yuan is a good person, and she’s been taking care of the kids well in kindergarten. If I come back late, she’ll even come over to help look after the little ones! No problem at all.” Qin Jian said.

”Hmm, that’s good.” Zhang Yun finally felt a bit relieved.

”No worries, just leave early! I’m here at the hospital with your mom, so don’t worry about this place.” Ning Yibin said.

”Alright, we’re leaving then! Son, say goodbye to grandpa and grandma!” Qin Jian finished speaking and left with the children.

Zhao Dong came out to ask Yuan Yunong to go watch a movie, but Yuan Yunong refused.

She said that a friend had some trouble and she needed to help, so their date had to be canceled.

Although Zhao Dong was very reluctant, seeing Yuan Yunong’s anxious look, he had no choice but to drop it.

He really wanted to accompany Yuan Yunong, but it seemed Yuan Yunong wasn’t very willing.

Zhao Dong didn’t want Yuan Yunong to dislike him, so he pragmatically retreated to his original position, maintaining a certain distance with her.

After leaving the military district, Yuan Yunong didn’t hurry to find the so-called friend she mentioned but wandered around outside for a while. It was only when night fell that she quietly walked toward a coffee shop from the street.

This was a recently opened coffee shop.

The location didn’t seem very advantageous. Even on normal days, not many people would come. Furthermore, coffee wasn’t something widely affordable for the general working-class people in this era, so few people visited this place.

And the owner here seemed not to rely on coffee for earnings.

Yuan Yunong gathered up her umbrella, stood at the counter, and said, ”Cappuccino! No sugar! Black coffee!”

The owner looked up at Yuan Yunong and pointed upstairs: ”Up the stairs, turn left, the innermost room!”

”Okay.”

Yuan Yunong walked silently up the carpeted stairs, standing at the door of the innermost room, and lightly knocked on the door panel.

A pleasant yet slightly lazy voice came from inside the room: ”Come in!”

Yuan Yunong pushed the door open and saw the figure she had been yearning for day and night: ”Hua Jin! You finally came!”
