Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2117: Chapter 2112: The Day’s Plan Begins in the Morning

”Okay. Go upstairs quickly! I’m leaving now!” Zhao Dong said happily.

Yuan Yunong turned around and entered the hallway. Watching her go upstairs, Zhao Dong turned around and left, running with the gentle spring night breeze.

After Zhao Dong left, Yuan Yunong came back, watching his figure fade away, and threw the candied hawthorn she had been holding into the trash can at the entrance.

”Who wants to eat this thing, so sour!”

After Yuan Yunong went upstairs, she took a shower and made herself a cup of coffee. Just as she was about to drink it, she saw the bottle of medication on the table. She poured out the coffee and replaced it with plain water, taking out two pills.

”Remember to take your medicine! Don’t stop, remember?” His slightly lazy voice seemed to echo in her ear.

Yuan Yunong sighed and clenched her teeth. ”When will I be able to get rid of this medicine bottle?”

With the plain water, she took the medication in her hand. Once her gloomy mood lifted a bit, she lay back on the bed, covered herself with the blanket, and slept till morning.

...............

The next day, early morning.

Qin Jian opened his eyes. Outside, it started to drizzle.

He got out of bed and looked outside. It was still dark. When he opened the window, he smelled a fresh earthy scent.

The two rows of stately poplar trees along the path had already sprouted buds. Under the cleansing spring rain, their pale yellow leaves seemed to gradually turn bright green.

Qin Jian took a deep breath of fresh air, feeling awake. He stretched his waist and limbs slightly, then went to check on the two children.

Ning Chenyang was sound asleep, and Chenguang’s fever had already subsided. Qin Jian kissed his son’s forehead, which was just the right temperature, neither too warm nor too cold.

”Son! Get up! A new day begins! We’re going for our morning run!”

Ning Chenyang curled up his body, drowsily saying, ”No! I’m so sleepy! Can’t we skip today... I heard the rain.”

”The year is planned in spring! The day is planned in the morning! You two aren’t allowed to be lazy! Get up!” Qin Jian said, reaching out to pull the covers off the kids.

”I’m still having a fever... Dad! Not going out today!” After burning all day yesterday, Ning Chenguang had just started to feel a lot better, and now just wanted to indulge in the comfort and warmth of the blanket, unwilling to go out.

”Your body isn’t strong enough, that’s why the virus beat you...”

Qin Jian was just about to explain when he heard the phone by the bed ring. He temporarily abandoned urging the two children to get up and went to answer the phone first.

”Hello...”

”Qin Jian, it’s me.” An Hao’s voice came through. ”It’s raining here, I miss you all, so I called you on this Saturday morning.”

”Wife! When are you coming back? Without you, the house is a mess!” Qin Jian really wanted An Hao to come back quickly; a home without a woman just doesn’t work.

”Isn’t Mom helping you with the kids?”

”She’s fallen ill!”

”Then, I have news for you too! The training has been extended; it seems I won’t be back for another three months...”

Qin Jian: ”...”

”Let the kids talk on the phone!” An Hao already missed the little ones a lot, eager to hear their voices.

Upon hearing it was An Hao’s call, the two children were no longer sleepy; they turned over, jumped up, and ran naked to answer their mom’s call.

By the time the phone call ended, they had successfully missed their morning exercise.
