Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2039: Chapter 2032: Highly Suspicious

”I find this matter quite peculiar!” Political Commissar Wang couldn’t help but express his opinion after listening for a while, ”If it were said that someone else leaked the information, perhaps I might believe it, but to say that Commander Qin leaked it, I really can’t believe it! Commander Qin, surely you’ve all heard of him to some extent? He managed to reach the position of commander at such a young age and has made numerous contributions over the years. His military medals almost cover an entire wall! Last year, he even participated in the advanced officer training at the Army Command College, which indicates a boundless future! Why would he want to do something that would jeopardize his career?”

”We all know that! And we’re very aware, but...”

Before the comrade from the National Security Bureau could finish, Political Commissar Wang added, ”It’s often said that soldiers are poor! However, Qin Jian’s brother-in-law runs a vegetable company. This company shares its profits, and he gives some to his sister every year! So, they are not lacking in money. Someone who isn’t worried about money or their future, why would they leak information?”

”Yes! You are absolutely right!” the section chief from the National Security Bureau said, ”Commander Ning, there’s really no need for you to be upset! If Commander Qin is not at fault, we’ll definitely release him soon! We will let the evidence speak for itself!”

”Dad! I’ll go with them! Don’t make things difficult for our comrades from the National Security Bureau! The data leak is puzzling me too, and I hope to find an answer soon!” Qin Jian came out of the dining room and said.

”Indeed! Commander Qin is right! The sooner we investigate, the sooner we can clear Commander Qin’s name!”

With the discussion reaching this point, Ning Yibin found it hard to say anything further. Although he was the Commander, the issue of leaking military secrets was extremely serious.

If things went wrong, it could end up in a military court.

Since Qin Jian was a suspect, a thorough investigation would be for the best.

She believed her son could never do such a thing!

”Alright. You all go!” Ning Yibin waved his hand and said, ”Start the investigation early and bring him back to me soon!”

”Rest assured! Commander Qin, is there anything else you need to prepare?”

”No. I’ll just change my clothes and come down.”

Qin Jian went upstairs to change into his uniform and came down wearing his military cap.

An Hao stepped forward to button up his jacket, making sure everything was neat, and said, ”Take care of yourself these days! I’ll be waiting for your early return!”

”Alright! I leave the household to you!”

”Okay. Rest assured!”

”I’m off!”

Qin Jian donned his military cap, glanced around at his family members in the house, then bent down to kiss his two little ones, and finally followed the comrades from the National Security Bureau out.

..............................

The crucial data of Weapon Zero was leaked, and Commander Qin was taken away for investigation.

Despite the secrecy surrounding this matter, some people still sensed something unusual from it.

Before long, the news of Commander Qin being taken away for investigation by the National Security Bureau spread.

Many knew that the Commander’s son was brought in for questioning, and the Commander’s mood has been somber lately, although the reason for the investigation was unknown.

Two days passed, yet there was no progress on the matter.

Due to the severity and importance of this issue, Hong Mei was first detained, pending an investigation once there was a bit more clarity on the matter.
