Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Capítulo 2014: Chapter 2007: Going to the City for Treatment

“Already this fast. How’s your data collection going?” An Hao asked in surprise.

“We’ve almost sorted the preliminary data.”

“Then you must be careful to keep that data safe! Don’t forget that Gan Tian’s twin sister is in your unit, you need to be careful she doesn’t stir up any major trouble.”

As long as Gan Tian’s twin sister was around, An Hao couldn’t feel at ease.

“Don’t worry! She’s in the medical room, what waves can she really make? And I’ve already had someone monitoring her. If she steps out of line a little, this time, we’ll take her down instantly.”

Qin Jian said.

“Okay.” An Hao lowered her eyes, hiding the turbulent emotions in them.

But Qin Jian’s sharp eyes didn’t miss any of her subtle movements.

He said nothing, just firmly held An Hao’s hands, and said with utmost determination, “I won’t forget the suffering you and your father endured! One day, we’ll definitely expose her!”

“I believe in you!”

……………

The next day, Qin Jian left, and they wouldn’t see each other again until the weekend.

On Monday, An Hao had two surgeries in the morning, and she rested in the afternoon.

In the duty room, she received a call from Gu Shuangshuang, who said that Tian Niu’s mom came to Nancheng for medical treatment.

Lately, she’s been eating a lot, but not only is she not gaining weight, she’s getting thinner, yet her belly is getting bigger.

Overall, she appears listless, her face waxy yellow, looking quite sickly.

She went to the county for a check-up, and the local doctor said that she likely has a tumor, which needs to be surgically removed.

Apparently, this tumor is quite large and adheres to some organs, making the surgery rather complex.

That’s why Tian Niu’s mom came to Nancheng for further examination.

Coincidentally, An Hao is a surgeon, so before coming, Gu Shuangshuang called to schedule a check-up for the next morning, along with asking if An Hao could arrange for the best surgeon to perform the operation on her mother-in-law.

An Hao replied to Gu Shuangshuang that there was no problem and scheduled it with Ji Chuan.

After tomorrow’s check-up, they can develop a surgery plan.

After hanging up, An Hao called An Ping to see if he had time in the afternoon.

An Ping had to handle shipments this afternoon as several major buyers were coming, so he couldn’t make it.

Since An Ping wasn’t available, An Hao decided to go herself.

She grabbed her bag and left the hospital, bought some fruit and nutritional supplements, and headed straight to Gu Shuangshuang’s house.

Since Tian Niu’s mom had come such a long way, she should visit. Besides, An Ping and Shuangshuang were currently in a romantic relationship.

Tian Niu’s mom might be An Ping’s future mother-in-law, so it’s even more appropriate for her to visit.

At Gu Shuangshuang’s home, An Hao saw Tian Niu’s mom. Compared to last time, An Hao felt she looked much more haggard.

Knowing that An Hao came specifically to see her, Tian Niu’s mom felt incredibly apologetic.

“An Hao! You’ve troubled yourself because of this. Look at you, having to come out in such cold weather.”

“It’s no trouble. Auntie, you don’t need to worry, I’ve already arranged for the best doctor at the hospital for you. Have a good check-up tomorrow, and once the surgery is done, everything will be fine.” An Hao deliberately spoke lightly, afraid of burdening the elderly with worry.

“Alright, alright.” Tian Niu’s mom responded eagerly, “It’s not that I’m afraid of dying. At my age, death is just death. But if I die, I’ll be a burden on the old man left behind. Also, I haven’t seen Nannan grow up yet, I’m not willing to just die like this!!”
