Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2019: Chapter 2012: Death Approaches

Gan Tian finished telling her story, leaving An Hao utterly shocked.

”Sister-in-law, I’ve told you everything. Tell me, what exactly is the situation in the army now?”

”Your sister is definitely a ruthless character.” An Hao took a deep breath and told Gan Tian about all that had happened over the past year.

She recounted how Hong Mei had tapped phones, how she got close to Tian Niu, and how she sabotaged Tian Niu’s family.

Finally, An Hao told her about how she was nearly killed by Hong Mei on the fifteenth day of the new year, falling into a coma for eight months, and how her father had been stabbed five times and revived three times from the brink of death by doctors.

Upon hearing this, she gasped deeply.

She never imagined that in the year she was away, her sister would have done so much.

It was completely unforeseen to her.

Though it couldn’t be said she was immensely guilty, these actions were absolutely unforgivable.

She deserved to die twice over.

”Gan Tian, right now the national security bureau is watching her closely! The army leaders have already taken precautions against her! I know you are sisters, but I still hope you can come forward and confront her face to face...” An Hao took the opportunity to say.

Gan Tian felt her heart in tumult, so she said to An Hao, ”Sister-in-law, can I calm down and think about it?”

”Of course you can think. Whether you want to or not, this is something you must do!”

”I understand! I can’t avoid this! Rest assured, sister-in-law, I will confront her face to face! But... I don’t know why, the thought of sending her to prison, never seeing her again, makes my heart feel a bit sour and bitter.” Gan Tian expressed her emotions truthfully.

”I understand. You are different from her! Gan Tian, you are kind-hearted! Although there is also resentment between you, after all, you are sisters. So it’s indeed difficult to ask you to do this.” An Hao did not rush to pressure Gan Tian.

She believed in Gan Tian, she knew Gan Tian would go and do this!

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have come back today.

”Thank you, sister-in-law! I am very sorry for what Hong Mei did to you!” Thankfully An Hao is alright now, otherwise, if anything happened to her, Gan Tian felt she could never find peace in her life.

”Let’s not talk about the past. But I have to remind you of one thing. The person you met on the road today must be connected to Hong Mei! She is certainly not acting alone!” An Hao reminded.

It certainly means they found out Gan Tian is still alive, that’s why they’ve been following her, intending to silence her.

Once Gan Tian comes back, then Hong Mei’s days would be numbered.

”Sister-in-law, may I ask you for a favor!” Gan Tian hesitated for a moment and said.

”Just say it.”

”Can you help me find a place to stay for a couple of nights first? I need to sort out all these messy matters. Then, I will go confront Hong Mei.”

”No problem,” An Hao readily agreed, ”but don’t take too long to think about it. This is something you will have to do sooner or later! Some things are better done sooner than later, lest procrastination makes things worse! Especially since they have already discovered your existence, you need to make a decision quickly!”

Gan Tian was silent for a few seconds, then nodded and agreed, ”Sister-in-law, it’s decided then! Tonight, help me find a place to stay, and tomorrow... early tomorrow morning, I’ll go find Hong Mei and report the situation to the army leaders.”
