Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2018: Chapter 2011: Gan Tian and Hong Mei

What if Gan Tian and that woman in the military camp were actually colluding to put on a show?

Her mind was racing when she heard Gan Tian say, ”Sister-in-law! I almost died!”

”What exactly happened?” An Hao quickly asked upon hearing this.

”Sister-in-law, just tell me, was there another Gan Tian in the army before?” Gan Tian said, suddenly realizing this sentence, suddenly feeling that An Hao might not understand.

Just about to explain, she heard An Hao speak.

”I know, that ’Gan Tian’ in the army is not you, she’s your twin sister!”

”You... you already know? Sister-in-law, how is she now? Did you see through her? Or...”

”I know she’s not you. Even though she imitates you so vividly, and you both have exactly the same face. But, there’s still quite a big difference between you two.”

”Can others recognize it too?”

”Lin Miao! She knows too!”

”No wonder she’s my good sister!” Gan Tian murmured, ”I was still worried that you guys wouldn’t recognize me, so after I got better, I rushed over here! But I didn’t expect, that as soon as I entered Nancheng, I got targeted! Sister-in-law, can you tell me about your time in the army now?”

”Of course. But before talking about this, can you tell me what happened to you?” An Hao asked, suppressing her excitement.

Meeting Gan Tian here felt like a gift from the heavens.

It seems like that woman’s days are numbered!

Gan Tian bit her lower lip, thought for a bit, and finally decided to lay everything she had experienced on the table.

That night, Hong Mei injected her with a drug.

Westerners use that kind of drug to perform euthanasia.

It seems her sister was still ’merciful’ to her, not using something like potassium cyanide.

When she struggled, Hong Mei couldn’t accurately hit her carotid artery.

The needle went in through one side of her neck, but accidentally went off the mark, almost piercing through to the other side.

So, the drug didn’t fully enter her body at that time.

When she woke up again, she was buried in the earth, possibly because Hong Mei was in too much of a hurry and didn’t bury her very deep.

After a heavy rain, the mud covering her was washed away, and she was exposed.

She was rescued by a kind-hearted farmer from the mountain, and then sent to a local hospital.

But she didn’t fully remember these things, as her brain had suffered injuries before, and this time the injected drug was an anesthetic.

The drug caused secondary damage to her brain, so there were many things she wasn’t very clear about.

It took a long time for her to slowly recall and sort out these things.

Before dying, she had already learned Hong Mei’s identity.

The disappearance of her sister years ago was an eternal guilt and a wound that could not heal in her heart.

But after waking up, she didn’t want to pursue it, even though her sister had intended to kill her.

However, she chose to forgive Hong Mei.

But the fact that Hong Mei replaced her in order to steal military secrets was something Gan Tian couldn’t tolerate.

Over the years, she had been educated by the army.

She was a soldier, and she had to be loyal to the Party. So, she returned without hesitation.

Her goal was to drive Hong Mei away, and if necessary, she didn’t mind sacrificing family for justice.
