Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2003: Chapter 1996: Taking a Military Oath

Especially last year, the secret leaks happened so quickly, it left them on tenterhooks.

First, they conducted a thorough search within themselves, then completely sealed off the environment, cutting off any contact with the outside world.

Only then did they realize that the secret hadn’t leaked from inside.

It was during the transmission process that the leak occurred.

This indicated two issues: one was that there might be someone with a problem within the troops.

The other was that spies were pervasive and unstoppable.

Not only our country has such issues; it’s common worldwide.

Therefore, this time for such an important matter, the two of them came personally.

”This time, we will definitely ensure all the necessary confidentiality work is done.” said Major General Guan with absolute certainty, ”Entrusting this task to the two of them is absolutely reassured.”

”Good!” Team Leader Zhang stood up and said, ”This time, we must all make a military pledge here! Whoever leaks the information will be severely punished!”

..................

On the car ride back to the regiment headquarters, Zhang Jianguo and Qin Jian were discussing matters.

”Those weapons will be quietly transported in a week. I’ll hand all these things over to you; this matter must be carried out very carefully! There must not be any mistakes!” Zhang Jianguo repeatedly advised Qin Jian.

This matter put a lot of pressure on him.

Having encountered two leak incidents in one year, Zhang Jianguo became extremely cautious.

”I understand! I dare not take this matter lightly. I am well aware of the responsibility and weight I bear.” Qin Jian said.

”It’s good that you understand. If the data leaks out again this time, it might not just be a matter of being fired; you might even face a military court.”

Qin Jian took a deep breath: ”Commander, with you saying this, my pressure is even greater!”

”That’s exactly why I want you to feel tremendous pressure! Only then will you be extremely careful and avoid making mistakes!” Zhang Jianguo said with a smile, ”I definitely don’t want my military career to end here.”

Qin Jian gave Zhang Jianguo a resentful glance: ”Commander, if you keep talking like that, I’m going to jump out of the car.”

Zhang Jianguo laughed heartily, lightening the tense atmosphere a lot: ”You brat definitely have potential, now you’ve learned to threaten me!”

”You’re doing this on purpose!” deliberately creating such a tense atmosphere.

”Alright, just be careful yourself. I will help you set everything up.” Zhang Jianguo patted Qin Jian, ”If you do well, it will be yet another meritorious service!”

”This time I don’t ask for credit, just to avoid mistakes!” Qin Jian exhaled and said.

...........................

After receiving the task, Qin Jian immediately got busy.

The weapons had already arrived at their regiment headquarters, and Qin Jian personally selected a company of warriors.

He chose the battalion that was the farthest from the regiment headquarters and took this company over there.

Thus, all the warriors in this battalion took up the responsibility of secretly guarding this company’s mission.

Every day, Qin Jian was in this company with the warriors, testing this batch of the latest weapons, recording a large amount of useful data for the ordnance researchers to optimize and adjust the weapons.

On Friday afternoon, Qin Jian returned relatively early.

As soon as he entered the house, coincidentally, the orderly Xiaoliu was about to pick up the two kids from school.

Since he was back, he would pick up the kids to save Xiaoliu another trip.

When Qin Jian arrived at the kindergarten, there were already parents beginning to pick up their children.
