Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Capítulo 2008: Chapter 2001: Iron Warrior

A month later, winter arrived in full swing.

The weather was brutally cold.

The cold wind howled, freezing everything it touched.

Early each morning, Qin Jian would routinely pull the two children out from under their warm blankets, dress them, and place a basin of cold water in front of them.

“Wash your face, get ready to go out!”

Ning Chenyang and Ning Chenguang touched the ice-cold water and immediately withdrew their hands.

“It’s too cold! I don’t want to touch this cold water.”

“Ouch, ouch, ouch! Dad, this water is freezing!”

The two little ones looked pitifully at Qin Jian, too scared to use the cold water to wash their hands and faces.

“You have to keep using the cold water, it will get better over time!” Qin Jian felt sorry for the kids, but his compassion didn’t change his principle.

He knew if he gave in, the achievements of the past month would be wasted.

“It’s too cold today, how about we don’t go out?” An Hao said as she crawled out of bed, reluctantly leaving the warmth of her covers.

“It’s going to be this cold every day from now on, even colder each day! If we don’t go today, I’m afraid we won’t go at all in the future.” Qin Jian said and didn’t argue further with the kids; he squatted down and pressed the children’s small hands into the icy water.

The kids cried and screamed, making An Hao’s heart ache even more.

“Don’t be so cruel to the children!” she couldn’t help but complain to Qin Jian, “I just want the kids to be a bit healthier. I’m not planning on turning them into Iron Warriors.”

“What Iron Warrior?”

“Can’t you understand the literal meaning?”

Qin Jian chuckled softly, “I don’t want to turn them into Iron Warriors either.”

“In such cold weather, you’re making the kids wash up with icy water.”

As soon as An Hao complained, the two kids immediately sided with her against Qin Jian.

“We’re not going to wash! Not with cold water!”

“I don’t want to listen to Dad, I want to listen to Mom!”

Then they ran to hide behind An Hao and wouldn’t come out.

An Hao shielded them like a mother hen.

“You’re not going today, just this once.”

“Impossible!” Qin Jian said firmly.

“If you don’t agree, I won’t let them go either.” An Hao insisted defiantly against Qin Jian.

She was not happy with Qin Jian making the kids wash their hands and faces with cold water.

She wanted to train the kids, not raise two little superhumans.

Zhang Yun, hearing the commotion from downstairs, rushed upstairs.

Seeing her son and daughter-in-law at odds over the children’s training issue,

She was immediately excited.

Standing by An Hao’s side, she joined in to collectively argue against Qin Jian, “I don’t agree! The kids shouldn’t go out this morning. Just look at that cold wind, it’s like knives cutting; even I can’t stand it, let alone the kids.”

“Mom, An Hao, you two stop arguing! I’ve decided on this matter, once we’ve started, we can’t stop halfway!”

With that, he bypassed An Hao to grab the two kids.

Shielding them, An Hao wouldn’t let him, but Qin Jian didn’t argue with her. He went forward and lifted her onto his shoulders.

Then he tossed her onto the bed, and seeing she was about to get up, he grabbed An Hao’s scarf lying by the bed and carelessly tied her legs and feet.

Then, picking up one kid in each arm, he ignored his mother Zhang Yun’s obstruction and ran swiftly downstairs.

Opening the door, he took them into the freezing outdoors.

The two little ones resigned themselves to follow Qin Jian, running a lap around the playground, as steady as clockwork.
