Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2030: Chapter 2023: The Item Is Still Here

An Hao saw Qin Jian wake up, and her heart, which had been tightly clenched, finally relaxed.

She walked to the bedside and held Qin Jian’s hand: ”When I heard you were in a car accident, it scared us to death! Luckily, the doctor said you’re not seriously injured.”

Qin Jian gently patted his wife’s hand and comforted her: ”I’m fine now. You don’t have to worry about me. You and Mom should go out first; I have important matters to discuss with the chief.”

An Hao understood Qin Jian’s meaning. She exchanged a glance with Zhang Yun, then left the ward.

Leaving all the time for Qin Jian and Zhang Jianguo.

The door was closed, leaving only the two of them in the room.

”Chief!” Qin Jian struggled to sit up, but Zhang Jianguo stopped him.

He pulled up a chair and sat by the bedside, inquiring about Qiang Jian’s condition: ”How are you feeling now? Is it serious?”

”Just some surface injuries. It’s not serious! I’m just worried about Xiaozhou, how is he?” Qin Jian knew Xiaozhou’s injuries were more severe than his.

After all, when the two vehicles collided, his position took a greater hit and impact.

”He’s fine now. Before seeing you, I went to check on Xiaozhou first! The doctor said his injuries are quite serious and need proper recuperation for a while! There’s no life danger, rest assured!”

Zhang Jianguo briefly informed him about the situation of the orderly Xiaozhou.

Qin Jian was relieved to hear Xiaozhou was not in life danger.

”Chief, the ordnance department is still waiting for my report, but I’m afraid I’ve delayed it!” Qin Jian wasn’t sure how long he had been unconscious.

But with the car accident and these complications on the road, it must have been delayed.

”Don’t worry about that! After your car accident, the police called. We’ve already informed the relevant departments. After receiving the call, I rushed over quickly; my biggest concern now is whether there were any issues with that file?”

Qin Jian shook his head, pointing to the shoulder bag next to him: ”The bag is still here! I opened it just now and the file folder is also intact. But I haven’t checked the contents yet, I think there should be no problem.”

”Then you better take a look.” Zhang Jianguo felt that given the short time, nothing should have gone wrong.

But to be safe, it was better to check.

Qin Jian opened the file folder and glanced at the contents, then nodded: ”The data is correct! This is what I spent a whole night organizing.”

”That’s good.” You maintained quite a level of secrecy in this operation; even I almost didn’t know.

So, I guess those spies who’ve been eyeing us wouldn’t have suspected.

”Who knows. But with the data still here, I’m relieved!” Qin Jian genuinely felt relieved, ”But what should we do with this file?”

”They mentioned it. They will send someone over to collect it! I will take the file back to the troops first; this thing shouldn’t be left in a public place.”

The confidentiality regulations are very clear, Qin Jian was forced to do so, so it’s not considered a violation.

”Thanks for your help!”

Qin Jian sealed the file firmly and handed it over to Zhang Jianguo.

When Zhang Jianguo took the file, he noticeably saw Qin Jian’s expression relax.

”Look at your expression! It’s like you’re handing over a bomb. Handing it to me has relieved you?”

”Although it’s not a bomb, it’s just as terrifying as one.” Qin Jian smiled, ”Handing this over to you puts me at ease. It’s because I trust you, Chief, but when the Chief says it, it sounds like I’m shirking responsibility!”
