Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1997: Chapter 1990: Awakening 2

Ning Chenyang saw An Hao open her eyes and excitedly shouted, the two children surrounding An Hao chirped, ”Mom! Mom!”

Having been asleep for so long, An Hao was not completely unaware of the outside world. She felt Qin Jian’s care, his soft whispers in her ear every night, the children’s sweet and sticky voices, their chubby little hands stroking her, the warmth of the sun, the birds singing, the flowers blooming - she knew and felt it all, but her soul felt locked in a cage, unable to break free.

At the moment Ning Chenyang kissed her, An Hao felt a surge of energy flowing into her. In that instant, she exerted herself and opened her eyes.

The world became clear again, all the lost sensations returned.

”...good...” An Hao took some effort and squeezed out a word from her throat. She tried hard to raise her hand and held the hands of her two children.

”Mom woke up! Mom woke up!” Qin Jian had changed a basin of clean water and as he approached the hospital room door, he heard the two children loudly chirping.

She pushed open the door, initially wanting to softly scold the children not to disturb their mother’s rest.

But as soon as the door opened, the two kids rushed toward him.

They hugged Qin Jian’s thigh, vying with each other to tell him, ”Dad, Mom woke up!” Qin Jian incredulously looked at the hospital bed, stunned, his body froze, and the basin in his hand fell to the ground with a clang, water spilling everywhere.

The person on the bed had already opened her eyes, gazing at him tenderly and deeply, her mouth parted as though she had countless things to tell him.

Qin Jian’s throat moved a few times, his nose felt sour, and faint tears glimmered in his eyes, ”An Hao!”

”Qin... Jian...”

As An Hao struggled to call out his name, Qin Jian felt as if time had reversed, autumn instantly turned into spring, a gentle breeze against his face, flowers blooming silently!

.....................

A month later, in the morning.

An Hao carefully styled her hair in front of the mirror, her long hair now turned into neat short hair.

She smiled at her reflection, applying the crimson lipstick to her lips.

Ning Chenyang and Chenguang had just celebrated their third birthday and seemed much more mature than before.

The two little ones were dressed smartly, standing proudly with backpacks at the door waiting for their mother.

”Honey, you look great!” Qin Jian fastened his belt and leaned over to kiss An Hao’s cheek, speaking softly, ”Let’s go, today we’ll take the kids to school together!”

An Hao smiled and stood up: ”Alright!”

Qin Jian extended his hand, interlocking fingers with hers, heading towards the two children.

But there they were, the two little ones covering their eyes, whispering to each other.

”Dad and Mom are kissing again.”

”Grandma said kids aren’t allowed to watch!”

”So embarrassing!”

”Dad is the one who’s embarrassing, he’s shameless, always kissing Mom!”

”Alright, stop murmuring, I’ve heard you!” Qin Jian reached out to pat the two on their little heads, ”Turn left, march forward!”

”Yes, Comrade Dad!”

The kindergarten was located right in the military district compound, many people sent their children there in the morning.

They all lived in the same compound, seeing each other all the time.

Normally, the ones who sent Ning Chenyang and Ning Chenguang were their grandmother, but today, it was their dad and mom.

The two little ones were very proud, puffing their little chests high.
