Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1978: Chapter 1971: Captured

At that moment, An Hao felt a chill running down his back.

If it weren’t for the incident with Tian Ermei, which made him and An Ping discover An Hui and the others’ true colors.

Perhaps, one day, An Hao would have actually thought An Hui had changed for the better and would allow him to approach his family.

That would be truly terrifying!

”So, did you report it? Have the arrests been made?” An Hao asked slowly.

”I’ve already reported it. It seems he had communication and contact with spies, which is why he leaked military secrets!” Qin Jian said.

Upon hearing Qin Jian’s words, an image of Hou Zicheng appeared in An Hao’s mind.

”Could it be him?”

”Who are you talking about?”

”Hou Zicheng!”

”Previously, we had suspicions, and in fact, the National Security Agency also listed him as a key surveillance target! Moreover, relevant personnel have conducted investigations on Hou Zicheng, and all of his activities have been lawful, with no evidence of contact with spy agents.”

”Already investigated?” An Hao was stunned, ”So he’s not the one? Then why does he show such a keen interest in military personnel?”

”In my opinion, it’s better to be safe than sorry! Still, report the situation to the comrades at the National Security Agency and have them keep a closer watch!” Qin Jian said.

An Hui returned to the rented room and had a sound sleep; the maid at Boss Hou’s house said that Boss Hou would be back tomorrow.

An Hui was already itching to sell the news he had, so he could exchange it for a large pile of cash.

With this money, he could arrange everything for his father.

An Hui almost dreamt a blissful dream, where he was buried in heaps of cash, and there was not only money but also a house and Tian Ermei in the dream...

It had been a long time since he had such a beautiful dream, and An Hui almost woke up laughing.

When he opened his eyes, a blinding light shone towards him.

”Are you An Hui?” someone asked at the same time.

”Yes, I am An Hui.” He shielded his eyes from the glaring light and answered.

”Please come with us! We are from the National Security Agency!”

An Hui was stunned, and then a pair of cold handcuffs were placed on his wrists.

”Why are you arresting me? What did I do wrong?” An Hui yelled, his emotions turning agitated.

”We suspect you of stealing military secrets and being involved in selling them!” said the comrades from the National Security Agency.

”No, I didn’t do those things, you are wrongly accusing me!” An Hui immediately denied.

”We are not wrongfully accusing you! The waitress at Nanguofeng has already confessed, it was you who asked her to verify the message and paid her for the information! Then you sold the message, and now the leaked information has led to more spies infiltrating Nancheng City!”

”No, I didn’t sell the information!” An Hui stubbornly denied.

”Regardless of whether you admit it or deny it, this matter objectively exists! Come with us and accept the investigation!”

Seeing that An Hui was about to be taken away, and once he was, there would be no one to take care of his father.

Things had already escalated to such a point with An Hao’s family; he thought to himself that they would not care about his father’s well-being anymore.

So he had to take care of his father himself.

”Comrade leaders! I don’t know where you heard this information, but you really have wronged me in this matter; I absolutely did not sell this message! Please believe me, I’m willing to swear...” An Hui hastily explained, fearing he would be taken away.
