Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1982: Chapter 1975 Illusion

Qin Jian was carrying Chenyang on his shoulder, with one large hand tightly clutching An Hao’s hand.

They moved slowly along South Street, amidst the bustling crowd.

Their eyes lingered on the colorful lanterns lining both sides of the road. Various types of lanterns shone brightly like stars in the sky, and the stream of people viewing the lanterns was endless.

This year, the street was particularly lively—not only were hundreds and thousands of lanterns adorning the night, but fireworks blossomed in the sky, painting the black canopy to resemble daylight.

Everywhere, it was a scene of radiant fireworks and blazing lights, with stars falling like rain in the wind.

”So beautiful!” An Hao gazed at the night sky, murmuring.

”I wish every day could be the Lantern Festival!” Qin Jian looked down at her, saying thoughtfully.

”Why?”

”Because you love it!” Qin Jian smiled, his dark eyes sparkling.

”I love it too!” Ning Chenyang waved his arms, happily shouting, ”Dad, I want that lantern... can you take me to buy it, please...”

An Hao was surprised at her son’s fluent expression; in her impression, Chenguang was the one who spoke clearly and fluidly, while Chenyang rarely spoke and was often reluctant with his words.

”Don’t be so surprised, my child, Qin Jian’s child can’t be lacking!” Qin Jian’s face was gleaming with a brilliant smile.

An Hao, seeing him so happily laughing, was infected by his mood, and she too smiled with her eyes curving: ”Look at you, so narcissistic. Who was the one worried back then that Chenyang might be a little mute...”

Qin Jian: ”...”

Seeing her husband at a loss for words, An Hao laughed triumphantly: ”Let’s go! To buy the trotting horse lantern your son liked!”

Qin Jian, with An Hao, continued forward, weaving through the crowded people, and soon reached the place selling trotting horse lanterns.

Suddenly, a familiar figure flashed before An Hao’s eyes, and she abruptly stopped.

Just as she wanted to take a closer look, the figure vanished again.

An Hao rubbed her eyes, as if what appeared just now was a mere illusion.

”Why did you stop?” Qin Jian halted, turned his head, and looked at An Hao.

”I seemed to have seen Gan Tian...” An Hao said.

”Gan Tian? Impossible! She has been under investigation and hasn’t been released yet.” Qin Jian said.

”Maybe I was mistaken.” An Hao said.

”I’m sure you were. I’m certain she hasn’t come out! Let’s go! Let’s buy the lantern!”

Today, they bought two small trotting horse lanterns and handed them to An Hao.

”These lanterns are truly exquisite! The wisdom of the working people is indeed boundless.”

”Why did you only buy two when you should have bought three, there’s also Nannan’s.” An Hao complained to him.

”I didn’t see where Tian Niu and his wife took their child! I’m worried if I bought one for Nannan, she might not like it!” Qin Jian said.

As soon as he finished speaking, he saw Tian Niu and Gu Shuangshuang squeezing through from the other side of the crowd.

”An Hao, guess who I just saw!” Gu Shuangshuang said.

”Gan Tian!” An Hao guessed.

”What Gan Tian? I saw Uncle An and An Ping!” Gu Shuangshuang said somewhat regretfully, ”Oh, what a pity that the second sister isn’t here now! If she were here, she and An Ping could have chatted more to deepen their relationship!”

”What? My dad and An Ping are here too? Where are they?” An Hao asked excitedly.

”They’re right at the street corner. There’s someone selling dumplings over there! I saw them squeezing there eating dumplings when I came over!” Gu Shuangshuang said.
