Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1964: Chapter 1957 Hope

This light is the light of hope!

”What are you doing here? I just heard you seem to be crying and shouting something about a child...” the woman asked.

”Could I ask you for a favor?” An Hao pulled the woman aside and pleaded in a low voice.

”Of course, you can, go ahead!” The woman spoke softly, giving off an approachable feeling.

”The people renting inside are my uncle and aunt. My aunt is currently not in a stable mental state, and she’s holding my child! She just threatened me that she would throw the child out of the window...” An Hao said, her nose tingling, and tears fell again.

Her voice choked several times, making it almost impossible to speak.

”Don’t worry, take your time...” The woman gently stroked An Hao’s back, looking at her with deep sympathy, ”So what do you want me to help with?”

An Hao wiped her tears messily with the back of her hand and said, ”I beg you, when you go inside and see an opportunity, please seize the child and return them to me, okay?”

After speaking, An Hao looked at her with immense expectation.

However, her heart was extremely anxious, fearing that this woman in front of her might not help.

She was pondering if this woman refused, how she could persuade her, but she heard the woman speak very clearly.

”Okay! I promise you!”

”You agreed so readily?” An Hao looked at her in surprise, almost unable to believe her ears.

”Of course. Although I don’t know what conflict exists between you, I know that every child is an angel and they shouldn’t be treated so harshly! They need love and care! So regardless of whether the adults have made mistakes, the children are innocent, and I will certainly help you. Rest assured, I’ll grab the child for you when I find the right chance!” the woman agreed with great resolve.

”Thank you, thank you so much!” An Hao was extremely grateful to have found someone who could help at this crucial moment.

”No need to thank me. I’ll knock on the door now, and you should step back a bit. If the people inside become suspicious of me or get alerted, things will become troublesome.” The woman gave An Hao a sweet smile.

”Alright. We’ll do as you say. Please make sure to ensure the child’s safety! If you manage to rescue the child, our whole family will be grateful to you!” Qin Jian said from the side.

The woman glanced at the shoulder badges on Qin Jian’s military uniform, smiled, and said, ”No need. I don’t want your whole family to thank me! A soldier once saved me when I was in life-threatening danger, so I’m happy to do something for a soldier’s family now!”

”Then we’re counting on you!” An Hao was now eager for her to go in as soon as possible.

The woman gave him a gentle smile, ”Sure.”

The woman took a couple of steps forward, standing at the door, just about to knock, when An Hao suddenly asked, ”Sorry, I haven’t even asked how to address you!”

”My surname is Yuan! Yuan as in Yuan Shao! My name is Yunong!” After introducing herself, Yuan Yunong knocked on the door.

Qin Jian and An Hao stepped back, standing in a position where they couldn’t be seen when the door opened.

”Stop knocking! If you don’t bring the money, don’t even think about coming in!” Jiang Guixiang’s angry voice came through.
