Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1971: Chapter 1964: Gathering

”Trust me, I will definitely get you the intelligence! But I need money to support my dad now!” An Hui pleaded bitterly.

”You’ve had a complete falling out with your family, how can you still gather intelligence? I won’t support someone who’s useless!” Hou Zicheng said, then stood up and walked out without hesitation.

”Intelligence... who said I can’t get it... I’ll go get some for you, let you see... let you see...” An Hui muttered unclearly, then staggered to his feet and headed towards the door.

”Hey! Money, money!” The waiter chased after him to settle the bill, but An Hui punched him down on the road.

An Hui fell into a blurry sleep for two days, then started focusing on An Hao, silently praying for a chance from heaven, even just one.

Unexpectedly, a chance really came that day.

...........................

Nearly a year had passed since they last parted, Lin Qiushu and Yan Ye finally returned.

That evening, the Ning Family and Yan Family gathered together to welcome the couple back from abroad.

Past gatherings were always held at home, and the housewives had to prepare a table full of food.

But this year, because of Lin Qiushu, the venue for the gathering changed significantly.

She booked a large table at her own Nanguofeng Restaurant, completely liberating these housewives.

Seven o’clock in the evening.

Most had already arrived, chatting and laughing in the private room, discussing this newlywed couple’s life abroad.

Almost a year without seeing them, Feng Yuzhi was overjoyed to see her son and daughter-in-law.

”Come, come, Yan Ye, Qiushu, let mom have a good look at you two, I’ve missed you so much over this long time!”

”Oh dear, Old Feng, you shouldn’t miss them to death! My brother and sister-in-law have been married for a year, and you’ve been thinking of having a grandchild every day. Now that they’re back, you have a glorious and great mission to carry out,” Yan Huan said with a cheeky grin.

”This cheeky girl only knows how to talk back. It’s been so long, and you haven’t found a good family to marry into. Besides arguing with me, what else can you do?” Feng Yuzhi glared at her and said.

”I’m not talking anymore, I’m willing to be an old maid...” Yan Huan quickly moved aside as she noticed Feng Yuzhi was about to scold her, ”Old Feng, I’m not the focus today, the focus is my brother and sister-in-law, you need to get your priorities straight.”

Feng Yuzhi glared at Yan Huan, then ignored her. She cheerfully took Lin Qiushu’s hand and said, ”How was your life abroad? It’s been a year, any news yet?”

Lin Qiushu, just back and not yet catching her breath, found herself faced with this question from her mother-in-law. She was at a loss, laughing and weeping, ”It’s not that quick!”

”You two better hurry; look, I’ll calculate for you...” Feng Yuzhi started counting on her fingers.

Lin Qiushu stuck out her tongue and found an excuse to slip over to Zhang Yun, to play with the two kids, Ning Chenyang and Chenguang.

Before long, An Hao also arrived.

Opening the door, seeing everyone was there, she awkwardly apologized to everyone first, ”There were too many surgeries at the hospital, been quite busy lately, so I came late, kept you all waiting!”

”Now that everyone’s here, let’s start!” Lin Qiushu said with a cheerful smile, called the waiter over and whispered a few instructions in her ear.
