Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Capítulo 1954: Chapter 1947: Cancer

In the morning, there was a major surgery, and after it ended, just as she walked out of the operating room, she saw the young nurse, who had recently joined, standing at the door waiting for her.

“Sister An, you’d better go take a look! Your family is here looking for you. I don’t know what’s happened, but the two of them are wailing and won’t leave the office.”

An Hao frowned, thinking: It definitely can’t be An Ping and father, they wouldn’t do such a thing.

Could it be people that Second Uncle mentioned from over there?

This is truly annoying, you’ve just had two or three months of peace, and now it’s starting again.

An Hao really didn’t want to see them, but if she didn’t go, she feared they wouldn’t leave.

After all, this is a hospital; she can’t let her family matters affect everyone.

An Hao arrived at the office and heard the lively chatter inside.

Just as she was about to push the door open, she heard Second Aunt’s voice coming from inside.

“We really have no choice. The old man is so old and has cancer. We have no money for treatment. If I don’t care for the old man, he’ll surely die! If this niece of his stays cold-hearted, she might not even care for us, but if she comes back, I hope you can help persuade her. At least let the old man get treatment.”

Jiang Guixiang cried tears mixed with snot, and from outside, it sounded genuinely emotional.

But An Hao no longer trusted them. They say once bitten by a snake, you fear a rope for ten years.

That’s exactly An Hao’s current state.

“Don’t worry, Auntie. Dr. An isn’t like that; she’s so patient with her patients, let alone her own family.” The doctors all tried to persuade.

“She’s good to outsiders, but to us really not a bit…”

Before Jiang Guixiang could finish her sentence, An Hao rubbed her aching head and stepped in the door.

Seeing An Hao come in, Jiang Guixiang immediately shut up, wiped her tears, and approached her, “You’re finally back; we’ve been waiting for you all day.”

“I had surgery,” An Hao said coolly, walked to her desk, opened her cup, and took a sip of water, “I hadn’t even stepped inside when I heard you bad-mouthing me. If there’s something you need from me, let’s take it outside.”

“Just say it here.” Jiang Guixiang, afraid that An Hao would ignore them once outside, insisted on staying in the doctor’s office.

“This is a shared office space, not my personal place. Come with me!” An Hao said, then started walking out.

“You… you guys help me, say something…” Jiang Guixiang saw that no one else responded and quickly pleaded.

A couple of doctors were about to speak but were stopped by An Hao.

“You don’t need to say anything. I understand your meaning. I’ve heard what my Second Aunt said. Thank you all.”

Jiang Guixiang still wanted to say something, but An Hao had already left the office first.

Seeing this, she hurriedly followed.

At the corner of the hallway, it was quiet and deserted.

An Hao stopped, turned around, and looked at Jiang Guixiang calmly, “What do you want to say?”

“An Hao, I know what we did before was a bit wrong to you, but Auntie is truly repentant this time…”

Hearing this tone, An Hao inexplicably felt irritable and immediately lifted her leg to leave.

“Don’t go! I haven’t finished speaking…” Jiang Guixiang hurriedly grabbed An Hao’s wrist tightly with both hands.

“You’ve already played out this act once! I’m tired of it even if you’re not! If there’s anything to say, just say it. I have other things to do later and no time to waste here with you,” An Hao said mercilessly.
