Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1984: Chapter 1977: I want, I just want!

An Hao’s gaze followed the direction of Ning Chenyang’s finger and saw a six or seven-year-old child holding a white lantern, which was painted with the Monkey King Sun Wukong. On Sun Wukong’s shoulder was a shiny Golden Cudgel.

The painting of Sun Wukong was so vivid that when the wind blew, the lantern swayed, making it seem as if Sun Wukong was stepping on a somersault cloud, drifting in the sky.

”Don’t you already have a revolving lantern? Why do you want that lantern too?” An Hao leaned over, looking at Little Chenyang, and said, ”One is enough. We can’t just buy everything we like, can we?”

Ning Chenyang was not satisfied and pouted his little mouth.

Ning Chenguang was also dissatisfied. He gazed at Qin Jian with his big watery eyes and said, ”Daddy, buy it!”

Qin Jian agreed with his wife’s opinion that they couldn’t buy everything they saw, so he said to Little Chenguang, ”I’ll listen to mommy!”

At this moment, Nannan also reached out his little palm and babbled, ”Want... want...”

”Why are you joining in the fun?” Gu Shuangshuang laughed.

”Mom! I want it! I want it!” A crying child gets milk, and although Ning Chenguang was young, he was smart enough to keep asking An Hao for it.

Since An Hao wouldn’t buy it, he asked someone else.

”Don’t make it difficult for the child! I’ll go! I’ll buy the lantern for the child!” An Shuchao stood up, preparing to buy the lantern for the children.

”Dad, don’t make a fuss!” An Ping grabbed a corner of An Shuchao’s clothes and said, ”Didn’t my sister say before? We shouldn’t interfere when she’s educating the children!”

”It’s just a lantern, why not buy it? I’ll go, I’ll buy it for my dear grandchildren!” Seeing that the three children liked it so much, An Shuchao seemed to have found a bit of joy himself, and insisted on going to buy the lantern.

”Let me go instead.” Qin Jian quickly stood up, knowing he couldn’t let his father-in-law go so far to buy the lantern for the children.

”Commander, I’ll go with you!” Tian Niu quickly said.

”None of you go, sit here and eat the tangyuan obediently. I’m full! Let me go! Buying something for the children makes me happy; it’s a pleasure that none of you can take from me.” An Shuchao said and headed out.

”Thank you, Grandpa!” The two little ones clapped their hands and sweetly thanked him when they saw An Shuchao going to buy something for them.

”Good kids! Why thank your grandpa? You just wait obediently, grandpa will be back soon!” An Shuchao seldom showed a smile on his face.

Watching her father’s figure slowly fading away, looking so hunched under the lights, An Hao suddenly felt a bit sad.

”What’s wrong?” Qin Jian noticed her change and asked.

”It’s nothing. Just feeling a bit melancholy! Seeing him at such an age not being able to enjoy peace, still worrying about our uncle’s matters, it makes me a bit sad to think about it.” An Hao said.

”Don’t be sad. It’s the New Year, a rare outing, you should be happy.” Qin Jian gently patted An Hao’s shoulder to comfort her.

”Mmm.” An Hao nodded.

She glanced over at the crowded area and, seeing that An Shuchao hadn’t gone far yet, stood up and said, ”I’ll go take a look! The place where they sell the lantern isn’t close by. The light isn’t as good there as it is here. He’s getting old, we don’t want him to trip!”

An Shuchao was squeezing through the crowd when he suddenly felt a pair of hands placed on his arm.
